All the peace, clean room and good breakfast you expect from a religious guest house. Nice walk to the center of Sinalunga.
The rooms were good with pleasant views.
The property is a long way out of town up a big hill. It is only suitable for people with their own transport. It is a long way into the main village to find a restaurant in the evening.
Was very interesting stay hosted in a monastery. Very clean, quiet place, very good breakfast, room with unforgettable view... Very good staff (Claudia and Enzo was very friendly all time)
In the bathroom, needs to be improved the place where has a shower. The floor is flat, so when you have a shower the water starts to do a lake.
The peace and quiet, utterly tranquil. The lofty location affords spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. Outstanding value for money
peaceful and relaxing friendly staff lovely breakfast very scenic an escape from the city buzz and noisiness felt surreal
no air conditioner unlimited mosquitoes loooooooong walk up a hill 2km to the hotel from the city/station
The hotel is located in the former monastery! Nice view, good breakfast, beautifull garden. Very unusual place
Wi-Fi doesn`t work
20 minutes walk from train station. And you can call or email asking for a pick up, that would be 5-10min. Very nice view of the whole village from the window. Nice air and trees. Great escape from big cities. Nice breakfast. Nice restaurant in town, 10 minutes walk from Casa Madonna.
Breathtaking view from the windows. Unique interiors and climate. This stay provides what a regular hotel will never offer to you.
The town where the monastery is located is uninteresting.
Absolutely fantastic location and property. Very clean rooms, great views on the countryside, amazing garden. Staff is super-friendly and helpful.
My stay was excellent and suited to my requirements. As a solo traveller this accommodation was excellent and a great experience. The rooms, common areas and breakfast rooms are all very clean and the staff could not have been more accommodating, helpful and friendly. They are a real asset to this place and made my stay great. I had no problem with communicating as they all spoke good English and was easy to talk with ( other reviews indicated differently) Any requests were quickly attended to ( wi fi issue, hair dryer). The rooms are good size for solo with own bathroom and a amazing view of the town. I couldn't recommend this more for value for money and the experience.
My only bad thing was that as a solo traveller and one who is using public transport, I found finding the location hard. The train/bus station is a about 2-3 km uphill and without a taxi service in town I found it hard when I first arrived. Once there it was not a problem to walk around and was taken to the train station on departure by the lovely staff. If have a car it will not be a issue.
First thing you recall about Casa Madonna del Rifugio is Enzo, who welcomed us on our arrival, he was really helpful and communicative. The place is very authentic, sometimes we feel ourselves as a horror movie stars, while we were going along its dark silent corridors. It's clean, quiet and perfectly located on top of Sinalunga, landscape views are incredible from there. Also there is free parking.
The only problem was to navigate there for the first time - map on booking.com is incorrect and lead to a private house (which was a big surprise for us at 10pm), correct address is Via dei Frati, 184; coordinates: 43.216341, 11.731390
Great location and great staff. We had good breakfast.
Rooms are modest.
Location was the highlight as well as the dining room!!
The location is great. The staff is very helpfull and very kind. Very nice atmosphere in Casa Madonna. You can rest after daily sightseeing because in Casa Madonna is very calm and quiet place. This hotel in a former monastery is impressive.
It's a beautiful old building, a former monastery, located on a hill above Sinalunga, with magnificent views of the surrounding countryside, very peaceful and calm. Staff is very friendly, breakfast is served until 10, and may be served later. Everything you need when you come back after a breathtaking Tuscany and crash into a comfortable bed. Manager Enzo even found a hair dryer for me. Great value for money.
Nice historical building (possibly a former abbey), friendly staff, good value
Rather early breakfast and only from 8 till 9
A clean, cheap place in an interesting building.
Very close to everything in Sinalunga. Very calm area. Friendly staff
Very quiet (no street noise or noisy neighbors), comfy bed with lots of extra blankets and pillows in closet, breakfast was decent, staff were nice we just really struggled with the language barrier (they spoke hardly an English).
This place was so hard to find. Our gps couldn't even find the address, then when we found it, it was a church which was confusing. This is correct, the hotel is an old monestary. When you get there, you'll see a gate on the side of the driveway, you need to have them buzz you through then drive to the back of the church for the entrance. We stayed here in December and it was freezing cold. We piled on the blankets but even our noses were freezing. We had to sit in the hall to access the wifi. We felt we paid a lot for what we got.
