This was our 2nd stay at casa nostra and once again the stay was a lovely experience. The convent has a very tranquil atmosphere with the Sisters ready to help when needed. A trip to the local restaurant again La Fattoria di clotilde was excellent (5 minutes walk from convent )
more bread for breakfast.
I like the location which is just near the bus line. Although we have to wait for bus longer than usual but ok to have walked to the train station which is only 30 minutes walk from the hotel.
The shower head could do with cleaning!
Casa Nostra Signora was our last stop on the Via Francigena before arriving at the Vatican - it is ideally placed for walkers as it is almost on the route and just 11.5 miles from the end. We were welcomed by the sisters who gave us two rooms linked by a private balcony. Our sons' room had air conditioning and a bath - ours was larger, and had a fan and a shower. Our room had plenty of floor space and storage - and a particularly useful ledge behind the bed with plugs, so one could charge cameras and phones easily. The bathroom was very large with a powerful shower. Security is good - when you leave and enter you ring a bell to be admitted, but at no time were we made to feel that this was a problem, even when we came in quite late. The sisters directed us to an excellent restaurant (the Fattoria Clothilde) just 5 minutes walk from the Casa, and there's also an American-Italian style diner just opposite. Breakfast was served on the floor below reception. It was simple but adequate - bread, cheese, spreads, croissants and toasts, with juice, hot milk, coffee and lemon tea.
