Set on a side street just behind the cathedral, Hotel De Lanzi is near the shops and main monuments of the historic center of Florence. The simply furnished rooms have private bathrooms.
Score from 725 reviews Very good
By far the most economical place in Florence. Easy to find, and took care of the traffic camera situation straight away. Good Breakfast. Wi-fi worked best in lobby... spotty in the rooms. It was a beautiful and interesting place to stay.
2 twin beds and no tv, but we knew that coming in.
I don't think I ever stayed in such a beautiful, cosy, and feel-good hotel. It is a charming old house with some painted ceilings and a beautiful garden. Location is exceptional, in the lovely Piazza del Carmine, next door with Capella Brancacci. The staff were exceptional and the free wi-fi worked to perfection. The room was basic but welcoming, with a large bathroom and a nice powerful shower. Breakfast was adequate. I simply loved the place and plan to come back.
Although the rooms have good radiators which work well, the ceilings are very high, so it felt a bit chilly in the bedroom (the winter in Florence is very cold). But this didn't bother me. Also, they provide you with plenty of blankets for the bed.
The building is lovely, staff friendly, breakfast good.
Wifi is terrible
Amazing garden and lovely building.
Peaceful atmosphere. Pleasant room . Breakfast very good. Garden lovely. wifi easy helpful kind staff.
We LOVED staying at the Casa. Felt like staying in a historic mansion and then found the history to be riveting. Staff was excellent, breakfast great, all good!!
A very clean, safe place to stay. If you are driving, their private parking for you car cannot be beat. All major sites are within walking distance, to include restaurants and local transportation. Staff were exceptional when it came to assisting with local transportation and confirming sites with their free tourist maps. We also received excellent recommendations for local places to eat that we visited and were delicious. Overall, a very nice, comfortable stay with friendly staff and peace of mind parking our car.
We booked a four person room (actually had five beds). Room was warm and descent but it was right next to the street and was very noisy at night and early in the morning. If insulated windows were installed it would have made a big difference in significantly reducing the outside noise.
Room open to garden and dome & good breakfast
Everything was wonderful, thank you .
THE STAFF WERE EXCEPTIONALLY HELPFUL AND KIND
Everything. Beautiful, well maintained 'castle' with lots if fun rooms to explore. We had a beautiful room with paintings on the ceiling. We stayed in a room With 4 beds as a double was not available. The room also had 2 great showers and two wash basins. There is a lovely chapel. Breakfast was an excellent buffet with cheeses, sliced meats, yogurts, breads, fruits, etc. 10 walk to the downtown area. Great restaurant with 5 min walk. Lovely peaceful garden. The staff were very helpful. Thanks to them we discovered many wonderful things including Cinque Terra.
Friendly/helpful staff. My friend was sick during our stay in Florence and needed to see a doctor. Staff got us in touch with the local doctor which was just a 5 mins walk from the convent and helped us explain my friend's condition. We loved the breakfast. Definitely more options than a typical coffee/croissant breakfast. The convent was quiet/peaceful which I really liked and walking distance to tourist spots..Room and washroom were spacious. I would recommend to family and friends.
No hairdyer in the room. Weak wifi signal. We were initally told there was no wifi in the 2nd floor where our room was located. For some reason, we were able to connect wifi from our room (thankfully). There's a 1AM curfew (not an issue for us) but others should be aware.
It's quieter on this side of the Arno River, but a little farther to main attractions. If you don't mind walking a little, that's no problem. It can be a bit noisy in the building, as its large and sounds echo. The staff was great, getting up early, arranging a taxi, and packing us a breakfast for our 5:15 am departure.
For the price, a bit austere. For the first part of our trip, we stayed in a much nicer BnB nearer the Duomo for the same price.
Good variety of breakfast food and excellent quality. Room and bath were worth the value. Staff was helpful.
Not exactly at the center. Had to walk at least 2-1/2 mi.
Once we moved our room from a dormitory to one with a little more character, the room was fine.
The beds are hard with extremely thin pillows. Worst sleep I had in my 3-week trip!
This hotel provides a unique experience in a superb location. The accommodation is simple but perfectly adequate for a short stay.
Ancient building with suggestive rooms. Near city centre and the most relevant attractions. Nice internal garden. Good breakfast. Good price.
During the night the street under our window was really noisy (we went there to pass the weekend). 1:00 AM curfew not signaled on booking.com main page, only in one customer's comment, which we didn't notice.
Location, price, cleanliness, nice staff
Breakfast was passable but nothing to brag about.Rooms should have hairblowers
Good breakfast Friendly staff Huge room Baggage Storage before checkin Nice garden and chapel Vending machine
Wifi Signal Poor Cannot keep your room keys Beds cheap Noisey due to piazza outside
Great location, you can walk to the city center in 15-20 minutes. Parking is 10 Euro but you should do it!
Breakfast wasn't that good. Room was not cosy, but 'cold'.
Good support from staff, clean, friendly, nice location away just a bit from the hustle and bustle of central Florence. Fabulous restaurant within steps, and on a bus route.
Quite spartan for the price.
Loved the garden and chapel.
Single beds, room facing noisy street and quality of towels.
Quite difficult arranging an 04:30 taxi and paying the bill with a nun who speaks no English. Breakfast was fine but the coffee deplorable.
I loved the garden and helpfullness of the staff. I would stay there again!
