While it didn't bother us at all, potential renters should be aware the house is a distance from town center, the streets are very narrow and it can be tricky to find. If you want to drive to town, parking can be a problem and if you want to walk, the path is uneven stone and a fair distance (uphill on the way back). At the bottom, you must either walk along a narrow road, not well suited for pedestrians, or pay 6.50 euros/person to walk along the lake through the gardens of the Villa Melzi, which is beautiful and well worth a visit, but you might not want to do that more than once. If you are not in reasonable shape and attired in appropriate footwear, the walk may not be for you. Also, I would recommend a smaller size car.
Absolutely loved it! Gorgeous, relaxing, private setting. House is very comfortable, peaceful and quiet. The views and grounds are exquisite. Francesca is wonderful. Born in the house, she seems to know everyone and everything in Bellagio and can and will help with anything!
