Can't complain. It was lovely. I would go back in a heartbeat!
It is a little cool oasis in a fervent city. Florence can be very intense. I would come back during the day to relax in the green shaded patio and sip an espresso. It is quiet, feels very private, and is safe. It also feels intimate as someone's home, and that gives a very relaxing feeling. The owners are wonderful ladies who made my stay very pleasant. They booked me on tours, concerned that I should get the best out of my stay in Florence. The breakfast was ample with pastries, cakes baked by the owner, bread, fruit, yoghurt, preserves, american-style brewed coffee and espresso. There was also milk and juice and all different kinds of tea. The rooms were large, airy and comfortable. The bathrooms were clean and big. The linen was changed each day and the room and bathroom cleaned. I had to wash my clothes at one point because July in Florence can be quite muggy, and there is a little laundry place next door. The ladies gave me a large rack to dry them in the sun on the patio. It's just such a charming place and walking distance to all the historic places in the city. It is also on the othe side of the river from the main touristy downtown, and the area just feels more authentic and interesting. There are interesting bars, shops, restaurants and people watching all around.
PS: it's a very old building from the 1400s and so it has a different feel to it than a modern building. Also, it is a bnb so don't expect it to be like a hotel. I think that is important to remember before leaving negative reviews.
