Hotel Aurora is built into Spoleto's ancient Roman walls, in an ex-Franciscan monastery from the 12th century.
Score from 152 reviews Good
Right in the historic center of Spoleto, looking out onto the Roman Theater and situated within the grounds of the Ancajani Park.
Score from 403 reviews Excellent
|Located in historic Spoleto city centre, these Perugia apartments include a kitchenette. The Duomo di Spoleto is 5 minutes’ walk away.||
Hotel Clarici is just a few steps from the historic center of Spoleto. Its terraces have panoramic views out over the picturesque town. Wi-Fi access is free.
Score from 97 reviews Good
The fact that the location was peaceful with a garden to relax in, yet within walking distance of all the sites in the Lower and Upper town. Everyone there was very friendly and helpful. The room was functional, with plenty of storage space, and an excellent bathroom.
There was nothing to dislike, except perhaps that the single bed was a little narrow, and the towels thin.
Clean comfortable accommodation with helpful staff.
Access road was narrow
Welcoming and happy staff. Easy access to the Chapel. Easy access to the front gates when coming and going. Hearty breakfast, though not bacon and eggs, but plenty of cornetti, cheese, sliced meats and lovely, hot coffee.
Access to WIFI, whilst good in the lobby, was not possible in the bedroom.
Stayed last year and again this. Very quiet, it's a floor in a retirement home. Staff friendly and helpful. 5 minute walk to center of town. Plenty of free parking. Excellent price for clean, ample room. Very good private bathroom w shower. Breakfast OK.
Only drawback is no Wifi in room. You must go to the lobby, but it's free.
I spent two comfortable nights in Spoleto for a reasonable price. That's worth its weight in gold
The location is probably as far from the station as possible, while also being removed from the city center. There is a bus, thankfully, if you are smart enough to think about researching such things. While I stayed there, there were times when absolutely no one was at reception, and ringing the buzzer for 15 minutes still left me outside the door. This was a problem on the day it rained. Wifi available in public areas only.
everything especially the peace and the flight from commercialisation
The location was very good as it was not up the higher part of the city, and there were nice outdoor spaces to utilize The rooms were basic but adequate, and there was a frig we could access for perishable goods we bought with us. There was a supermarket over the road if you required anything, and the bus back to the station was very close.
They had no maps of the city of Spoleto, to give to tourists. There was one stuck to a wall in the foyer, which made it difficult to access and get your bearings to the tourist office.Ther was no literature on what was available to do in Spoleto, when there are many attractons. If you are gong to offer accommodation to tourists you nee to have some tourist information. In fact we left some there and gave a couple of maps out to various people.
Quiet location. Bedroom & bathroom simply but adequately fitted.
Limited attendance of receptionist, difficult for arranging taxis, paying bill etc.Breakfast very limited in choice and quantity. Evening meal would have been acceptable had the food been hot; it arrived from a distant kitchen on an open trolley, losing heat all the way. This is an institution for the elderly with extra rooms, not a hotel.
