The host was very kind and eager to help. Cosy room, free wireless, breakfast on the terrace.
Location(a bit far, we had a rented car but for those walking far from the center). A bit poor breakfast, but it's a family business so it's understandable.
The staff, the rooms (we stayed in two of the rooms, one was the suite, great balcony and most of all the terrace in the suite.) the private location with the cliffs. Supermarket nearby (5mins). The dogs.
Awesome private balcony Suite room was very spacious Large modern bathroom
Wifi only worked downstairs, can't access it from ur room. Breakfast was not fresh or good The pull out couch did not have any sheets on it
The amazing location right by the ocean. The wonderful view from our terrace. The owner Luica who was most friendly and charming, trying to please everyone.
Non-existing infomation: you had to ask for "cleaning room" and leave the key at the front desk (something we learned from other guest after several days). Breakfast included even though the booking confirmation stated "breakfast not included". The three dogs (2 are Lucia's and 1 is her best friend's) who made the stay like a dogkindergarden without any leaders or rules. Barking, howling and even attacking guests seem to be everyday life at Casa sul Mare. Outside the city, close to the ocean = alot of mosquitos. More than 100 euros per night seems an excessive price taking into account we even had to empty the garbage ourselves. You pay for the room nothing more. Service is what you do yourself. Wi-Fi connection probably the worst I have ever experienced. Only partially worked in the breakfast area. Completely non-existent in the room, even when using the supplied router. The B & B is quite far from the center of Catania, making a walk an exhausting experience.
fantastic location/free paking/big room with great balcony / dirctly to the fantastic coasy/ lucia the owner does every thing to ket us feel great
Lucia, the manager, was a delightfully friendly young lady who went out of her way to assist and make us comfortable and welcome during our 2 night stay. The place had a homely feel to it. Breakfast was generous with a large variety to choose from. We were delighted to see an extra touch of a delicious home made cake provided. Views from our balcony and large modern room, were outstanding. We did not like Catania in general, but found this property a beautiful little retreat on the outskirts of the city.We would recommend this accommodation.
Presentation:The property needs to be regularly maintained-ie some areas neglected, lawn, broken chairs. Wi Fi is non existent in areas other than entrance and lower breakfast area. However, they have been trying to rectify this with Vodafone. Although we are not animal lovers, their dogs were not a nuisance. We were only there two nights but did expect our room to be serviced each day. This did not happen. If you don't have a car, then access to a variety of restaurants could be a problem. Fortunately, we did find a lovely Wine Bar/restaurant 500 metres down the road but this could prove to be costly for some.
The location is absolutely superb and Lucia was very welcoming. The house has been beautifully renovated.
Finding it was a bit of a nightmare: no sign outside as otherwise people knock on the door in the early hours, asking for a bed . . . It did have a slight feel of (up-market) student accommodation about it, but an advantage was that do-it-yourself drinks and food were available, all hours. Some guests might not care for the dogs.
The view from our room, the Ginestra, was incredible. The location is in a very quiet area & parking is very handy on the street in front of the building.
Noisy dog. Key had to be left at front desk for room cleaning. Breakfast selections not always fresh.
Nice garden directly on the coast (but accessible only till 8PM). Big room with private terrase. Large, clean and nice bathroom. Free public parking available.
Horrible traffic in Catania. I would not recomend to stay in the town if not really needed. We've booked this BB because of the sea view but our room had only street view. Lots of mosquitos there. We recomend to mark the location to find it easier.
Lucia, the owner really puts extra effort to make your stay special The balcony and size of the room is great.
Nice room, friendster host, beautiful view at breakfast
Breakfast à bit poor and awful coffee
The staff was very helpful and friendly, the house is beatiful und the view is amazing. We had a perfect stay!
Wlan did not work.
Location of the Place is fantastic with the Sea right at your door steps. Staff is incredibly friendly and does everything to makes your stay enjoyable and comfortable.
Thank you for a very warm welcome, it felt almost like being part of the family. House located directly by the sea, room recently renovated and very clean with a big, tastefully furnished bathroom. Stairs up to the rooms are steep, but for me that's part of the charm. Happy to return next time in Catania!
fantastic location and very friendly atmosphere.
Location in front of the sea.
Deplorable behaviour of the staff. Location without any kind of indication consequently difficult to find. Works in progress
The view was incredible. You can see the city and the coast basically you are two steps away from the sea and you can enjoy beautiful sunset. Everything it's quiet you can only hear the noise of the sea but it's so peaceful. The staff is great and the owner she's really kind and cheerful. I honestly suggest this b&b to everyone who want to visit Catania without stress and without being in the chaotic city...you are still 5 minutes away from the city center though!
