Location, nice apartment, n a proper oven to cook with :-)
Market quite noisy
The location near the market and bus lines. We especially enjoyed going to the market for the wonderful fruits and vegetables; getting to know the locals. Having a washing machine to use was a real plus.
Having staff available would have been helpful. We had to chase down staff.
Real taste of Palermo. Balcony overlooks busy market street. From the other side offcial modern buildings (court). Apartments originally furnished, comfy beds, nice bathrooms. Perfect location if you want to see a show at Teatro Massimo.
Qiute difficult to find with the car. You need to look for the undeground parking near the court.
Perfect location for almost everything - market, sights, restaurants, opera etc. Very clean and comfortable. Very helpful staff who looked after bags for us on last day. Kitchen well equipped and wifi very good.
The shower was tiny to get into - we laughed and vowed to lose weight! But it was fine. And ok pressure for top floor.
Well situated in the old area but close to good restaurants, shops etc. everything within walking distance. Markets on this street which made for fascinating people watching. Comfortable lodging. Lovely staff, kitchen facilities. Usual lovely attitude from the Sicilian people
No constant reception which made it a little awkward for arrival when you do not have a phone. However only a small problem. No other problems at all.
We found the best gem in Palermo. Right on the Mercato Capo with it's bustling food stalls, with a short walk to the main shopping streets and also to the La Kalsa area, it is an apartment with a good kitchen, comfortable living room and bedroom. No disturbing noise was heard from the market in the morning, and from Thursday to Saturday barbequed seafood and meats appear in the market from 7.30 on. There is also an excellent Trattoria within a few metres an a supermarket 3 minutes away. The staff are very helpful and keen to make one's stay very comfortable. We would stay here again without question.
We arrived on a Saturday, and the market directly below our apartment was in full swing. On Sunday there was much excitement as brass bands and a religious procession filed past. If one wants local colour and the ability to shop on the spot, this is the place to be. It is about 15 min walk from the Cathedral and nearby sights. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
With a wonderful market so close, one wants to do some serious cooking. The kitchen facilities were ok but basic. Finding the switch to turn on the oven, which was hidden behind the microwave, was tricky. The market can be noisy but the soundproofing works quite well.
nice place to stay. in the city center, you have big garage near if you are coming by car. And the best part of our staying was capo market with all that fresh fish and vegetables. Special thanks to Mukesh :) He was very kind and helpful.
Location in old historical center of Palermo, spacious designed apartments with all neccessary accomodation equipped for a whole family, even a laundry available, no language barriers, very helpful, polite and friendly staff/ management, Capo Market right next door to the apartments with great charme and colorful assortment of pastry, fruits, vegetables, sea food...excellent value in terms of price/ quality - we enjoyed our stay with two little kids a lot, many thanks to Casa Vacanze Porta Carini Team!
The shower in our bathroom facility was to small...handling even one little kid was a bit of a challenge
its great safe comfy place with loads of the local character plus great great market i didnt mind noise its a holiday so drink and enjoy scooters, food around is so quality just grab everything and very very friendly staff - Nukas was great help, Thank you, I ll be back
Very close to fruit and fish markets.
No onsite parking, had to pay a daily fee at the nearest parking area. Hard to get bags to and from the car. No staff onsite often. Surrounding area not very pretty. Not many restaurants within walking distance.
The apartment was nice and with enough space. They regularly replaced the towels, which were clean. Most facilities were all functioning: gas cooker, fridge, TV. You could buy fresh fruit and other food on the market (10 feet away) and nearby supermarkets.
1)It is difficult to find the location of Porta Carini, if you are first time in the city. 2) The market in the mornings can be quite noisy. 3) Air con seemed to be functioning but didn't blast cold air, even though set on lowest 17 degrees
Location in the lively market street, the parking facilities (only 8€ per day) nearby. Possibility to make your own meal, the kitchen was fully equipped. Basically walking distance (if you like to walk) to every location in the city.
Poor wifi reception in the top floor.
Mukkes is s great guy and very helpful. Thanks to him! Rooms were very nice and clean. Wi-fi worked. There was a car park (garage) for 8 euros per day nearby.
Big market is just next door.
Great location in middle of local market and easy walking distance to city highlights and shops. Good cooking facilities.
Location was excellent, overlooking the market with its superb produce. We do not normally cook much when on holiday but found ourselves getting vegetables and fish, as well as the usual bread and grocery items. The sound proofing was good, although the market started early, we did not have to. The location was good for both sightseeing and restaurants. The staff were friendly and helpful
Lovely place in a perfect location. Hosts very helpful and friendly
