The hotel was classy and felt special. The breakfast was very good. We liked the tour to Murano and the fact that the hotel provided transportation The toilet seat was broken . The internet not secure so we couldn't access our accounts. The help didn't tell us in advance we needed to pay cash for a concert, or help us to get more cash (it cost us $30. to get 100 euro) Also, when there was a vaparetto strike the staff didn't help us find a way to leave Venice.

This hotel was classy with a capital "c". The surroundings and architecture were beautiful, the accommodations comfy and cozy, and the staff went the extra mile to meet any needs, provide information and answer any questions. The location was perfect, as well as quiet for sleeping or napping in between exploring. The continental breakfast was luxurious with top service. I would definitely return to this hotel, and recommend it for all travelers.

The directions on the Hotels website is very accurate. I suggest writing it down. The Hotel was very clean. Our room was nice (queen bed- not pull out coach type, heating- which was central air, window, mini fridge, hairdryer provided as well as mini shampoos) The Breakfast was nice and simple (cereals, Italian meats, cheeses, toast, fruit and bread) You have to ask for a croissant which is fresh but you can do this while they ask if you want coffee (big pot of espresso and separate milk) or tea. The location of the hotel is perfect, literally 5 minutes away from St. Marks. We were going to visit the next day early but did not realize where we were until we were already inside St. Marks Basilica! There was no line (Nov. 4 in the evening, it was raining) but we found it more pleasant versus the next day, as we walked by a huge line.

Location Our room was not hat we saw on the web page. Pictures show luxurious hotel which this hotel was not! It was too pricy for the room. With the price we paid you stay in a 5 star hotel. I would not recommend this hotel.

We stayed in the annex building Casa Kertch, and it was beautiful and spacious, although hard to find. You have to walk across a square to get to the actual hotel, but the room was the largest and nicest we stayed at in Italy. Worth the walk and the money.

Location, so near St Mark's Square and yet so tranquil, was excellent. Room, even with third bed, was fine and clean. Air-conditioning in the room was fantastic ~ could not have tolerated the heat of the day without it! Breakfast plentiful without being special Staff very courteous Public areas were elegantly furnished and generated feeling of space Occasional attention to detail needed ~ shower screen rather clumsy and wardrobe shelf missing ~ but the fact these are our biggest concerns is a back-handed tribute!

Location was excellent, we stayed in another building (casa kirsch). Room was lovely, spacious and clean, very close to the main hotel with reception. Staff was polite and helpful, there was no problem with leaving suitcases for a few h after checking out. Air condition in the room was useful.

Staff was friendly and helpful, room was clean. Air conditioning failed in the middle of the night and I had to change rooms in order to get some sleep. Internet was barely adequate, stronger wi-fi signal would help.

My overall experience with this hotel was quite good, despite the many flaws it had, especially the breakfast. The reception staff were very friendly, especially a young Austrian girl working there who even offered to help us take our bags over the bridge in front of the hotel. She was an absolute delight and was probably one of the friendliest people I had met in Italy. The location was very strategic, right next to the Piazza San Marco which to me is the heard of Venice. It within walking distance to most places of interest (except maybe the St. Lucia station).Overall venice is quite small but it can get pretty exhausting to walk in the summer because of the heat and there are no free places to rest (like benches) which can be very impractical especially if your traveling with children or the elderly) There were several things I didn't like about this hotel. 1.No free WiFi!The price was around 3 euros per hour which is pretty shameful since we're living in the 21st century and your already paying a premium for the room rate. 2.The breakfast was disgraceful, probably the worst thing about the hotel. No eggs available at the buffet.Only boiled eggs are available to order and it costs 3 euros per egg!!The orange juice tasted ghastly (like something the astronauts would drink) and no coffee machine was available at the buffet. You had to order coffee (which was included) from the waiter which made for better coffee but that made the poor fellow absolutely swamped and you had to keep calling him every few minutes if someone wanted coffee.Which brings me to the other point, only 1 waiter at the breakfast!!Despite him being very hard working and friendly, the work was too much for him and he got quite mixed up when you ordered anything from him.The cereal tasted like cardboard and the milk wasn't that good either. The only kind of cheese available was one that had no taste and was cut as thin as sashimi. Of course and again, like most of Italy, the only deli cut available was pork, which again a lot of people with different tastes, faiths, beliefs, and preferences do not consume. Why not have a slice of smoked turkey breast next to it as an option? The last point about the breakfast was that the dining room was hot. 3.The air conditioning did not work the first night (poor air conditioning was actually quite common in Italy) but the staff tried there best to help out but the entire hotel had been booked. It was however fixed later on.

The main hotel itself, Hotel Casa Verardo, is beautiful with its old and very aesthetic design. The annex hotel, Casa Kirsch nearby has beautifully-designed modern rooms too. Both the rooms in the main hotel and Casa Kirsch were clean. Getting to Casa Verardo when you alight from the vaparetto (water bus stop) can be tricky but the instructions given in the hotel's website were precise and if you follow it to the tee, you would find this place. It's conveniently located near San Marco and having such quick access to St Mark's Cathedral was a real plus point. The front line staff are friendly and helpful, like all the Venetians we encountered and they helped us with good information and bookings of night shows and all. In my booking under Casa Verardo, I had booked Casa Kirsch, which is also part of the hotel with slightly cheaper rooms furnished in a modern design. Unfortunately, while the Casa Kirsch room was beautiful, it was located not in the main hotel itself but in a small dark street diagonally opposite the main hotel and this annex has NO lift. This posed a HUGE problem for me because I have weak knees. This information should be made known as part of hotel information. Luckily, the hotel was accommodating and offered me a room in the main hotel, Casa Verardo. Also, because Casa Verardo can only be accessed via a mini bridge linked to the entrance of the hotel, it would be good if porter service to help customers with huge suitcases could be offered.

Very clean! Perfect location, 5 minute walk to St.Marks and very quiet. Also three excellent restaurants 2 minute walk. We are returning to Venice and will stay here. I'm use to a king bed, in Europe a king is to twins pushed together. Also (Venice) is expensive, but good service and cleanliness go far in my book

The staff is nice and helpful. They gave friendly and good answers to everything I asked (like giving hints where to take a gondola, which ships get me to which place etc.). The location is excellent. Just about two minutes from the impressive piazza san marco. You couldn't ask for a better location. The internet can only be used on one device. 1 hour is for free, additional 3 days take 10 Euros. Well... you don't really need internet if you are in Venice, but still.. i'd love to have my stuff updated and online.

This hotel is very clean and the decoration quite grand and traditionally Venetian. We had a canal view and this was lovely. The outside seating area is great for an afternoon relax and the breakfast room a good size also with the option to sit outside. Our room was large for Venice, with a full bathroom. We travel quite a bit and would stay here again. The staff are very helpful making us dinner reservations etc.

The front desk staff was extremely helpful about our needs at the hotel and also about directions, tickets, and so forth. Very quiet location on a lovely canal, though very close to San Marco, and convenient to the vaporetto stop. Would definitely rebook here. The hotel itself was just lovely, the public rooms works of art.

Only wish to have free wifi, hotel give one hour free wifi, enought for me to communicate with family back home, but not enought for young adults who travel with me, they need more use of Internet to connect with their friends back in university etc.

amazing staff the best i have come across in Europe excellent location close to all the major spots to see in Venice and next to some amazing restaurants that are relatively cheap. its as close to st marks square as you can get.(were talking less than 200 yards) *** I highly recommend this place to all *** make sure you print out a google map for yourself or two everything in Venice is difficult to find **the first time that is** simple hand written directions can lead to frustration, angry wives, girlfriends ect ect...... Excellent hotel though!!!
