The owners family - people really loving their business. The hotel is small and has the very private atmosphere. The food is delicious. The small park around the hotel on the hill - cosy and romantic.
Owner was very informative.
It situates a comfortable distance from the city. The accommodation and the restaurant were perfect.
We were travelling with 2 other mature couples and found the staff extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms were a good size and very comfortable and clean. Great view from our room of the sun setting over Arezzo. Unfortunately, we weren't able to eat at the restaurant that evening but the breakfast the next morning was lovely.
Hotel is set in sizeable grounds well back from the road. It is very easy to find, being only a few hundred meters from the Arezzo 'bypass'. Very warm welcome in good English and good sized rooms with fabulous decor. Breakfast was ok, but evening meal was great and the restaurant is used by the locals - a good sign. Location is just 5 mins from Arezzo Centre. Owner's daughter/manager is super friendly and helpful. A charming place to stay.
Italian hotels can be let down by their beds and bedding - they seem to prefer sheets and eiderdowns to a simple, crisp duvet. This was no exception, so adequate marks, not good.
On our two week trip round Tuscany and Umbria this was the best place we stayed, and we stayed in several very good and expensive ones. The situation and garden are excellent. The house has been well restored though still full of character. We were upgraded to a suite and it was an incredible room. The staff, especially the younger lady who seemed to fill many roles, were all very friendly. Breakfast was both varied and of the highest quality, and dinners were also excellent and reasonably priced.
Having to leave.
This was our first stop in Tuscany....we arrived late in the afternoon...had a bottle of wine on the veranda....the room had a beautiful view of the countryside and then one of the best dinners that we had on our three week Italy trip!!! Overall fantastic!!
During dinner some local guests were having a large dinner party and two of the children were running around and making lots of noise...disturbing the other quests who were trying to enjoy a nice dinner on a beautiful night.....the owner should have been more cognizant of how disturbing these children were to the other guests!!
The location is perfect for visiting Arezzo. We were made so welcome and the staff were superb at being so helpful. There was an excellent breakfast choice.
Good location, easy to reach by car, or short taxi ride from centre. Nice view of Arezzo from terrace and windows. Very friendly, English-speaking staff.
Dinner is available at the hotel, but the quality cannot compete with good restaurants in the centre, so recommend you travel in. Walls are a little thin: you may be disturbed by noise from other guests at night.
quiet area, elegant building, very friendly owner and staff, good breakfast with great variety, beautiful garden where you can enjoy an "amaro" before calling it a day
The position (very close and with easy access to Arezzo) and the garden, the outdoor dining, delicious lunch and very good, varied breakfast. It has a somewhat old-fashioned charm indoors.
The shower could be more powerful! But that's a minor thing.
This place is very special. Meals are divine. The view of Arezzo with the sun setting and making the golden casa glow. Beautiful rooms, spacious, light-filled and quiet. Treat yourselves and book here. It is divine!
location and staff
Excellent hotel in the quiet countryside near Arezzo. Good views, beautiful garden, excellent breakfast and warm welcome. Choose a superior room it's worth it.
Very attractive position on hillside Beautiful gardens, Clean comfortable, welcoming and very helpful A bit further out of town than we thought so it took us a while to find it but really very well worth the effort.
Lovely setting, family run hotel. Excellent standard
Everything was yellow, good quality Generous spirited Relaxed Good food Splendid
We ate at the Restaurant at Casa Volpi, disappointing meal but service very good
Wonderful view, large bedroom and bathroom, kind people
great place and very welcoming people the lady even in perfect french. delicious local food and good winelist beautiful house we took the car and parked just outside city center. no problems. the frescoes of della francesca are a must-see
Very good breakfast, elevator, nice terrace with fantastic views, hospitable owners (the excellent English speaking daughter & only Italy speaking parents), free parking, the restaurant interior
It was difficult to open the window in our room
Excellent Dining Convenient Location to downtown Arezzo and the highway Very accommodating & helpful staff
Very friendly and supportive staff Good Italian breakfast Elevator is small but allows to bring luggage easily to upper floors
The building is very nice and cozy from the outside with an excellent terrace but in the inside it could get a little friendlier design. In particular the staircase is very "cold".
Beautiful property, helpful, friendly staff. A great place to stay!
