Casa MarconiVia Monfenera 140, 90128 Palermo (Show map) Review score 6.8 Score from 200 reviews“The good was that hotel is near the station (cca 15-20 minutes). The staff was kind and the bathroom was on the room (it was big advantage). The breakfast was sweet but fortunately too cheese and ham:)I dont like sweet breakfast:)The street with historical buildings is very close by walking.”

Located a few hundred yards from the cathedral, the Norman Palace and other important historic sites, Casa Marconi is ideal for a comfortable, relaxing vacation. The hotel is well situated for getting around the area as it is close to public transportation services including the Orleans underground station connecting to Falcone e Borsellino Airport, and a main bus terminus. The modern hotel offers single, double, triple and quad rooms, each with telephone, private bathroom, air conditioning and satellite LCD TV. The large self-service dining room offers a variety of dishes. The main lounge of Casa Marconi includes satellite TV, reading areas, a games area and Internet point. Hotel Rooms: 83

Good localization and price. There should be better guidance how to get to the hotel. There is a barrier across a street and it is impossible to go down the street from the address.

Good value for money compared to similar available options, quite good breakfast, friendly staff, air conditioning worked well, 24 hour service Room was pretty small, shower - tiny. Walls are thin so you hear everything that is hapenning on the floor which is especially disturbing in the mornings - someone knocking next door and closing/opening doors sounded as if it was just next to the bed... The area is not really central and I wouldn't advise at least one of the shortcut options to get to the city centre to tourists, especially those traveling alone

Pretty modern and maintained. Good breakfast. Quiet location. Walking distance to Normans Palace and Independence Square. Small shower, not for large people, clearly. Takes some time to reach the hotel from the Train Station, especially bus 109 which goes along a busy street with often traffic jams. Better take buses that end at Ospitale Civico (Civic Hosspital), since the stop you need a bus destination.

The information I got from Daniella. She is a seasoned employee, very helpful and loaded with great information. The breakfast buffet was very nice, I did not expect it to be such a great deal given how small the hotel is, but it was very nice! The night shift was very unattentive, to say the least. There was a new girl who seemed put out everytime we asked a question, and her response to everything was: "I don't know". I also didn't like the fact that the "do not smoke" sign was ignored by the hotel staff, who smoked right around the reception area and at the entrance...Very disappointing!

good restaurant. good breakfast choice for budget Italian hotel. decent sized towelling towels in bathroom. handy for bus to Mon Reale area around hotel a bit run down and not much choice for eating. altho supposed to be located near the old town it is a 10 min walk to Castle Normandie everything else worth seeing is at least another 10 - 15 mins walk. It is not obvious where this hotel is and the taxi dirvers at the station wanted E20 for a 1.5 km journey altho I found someone to do it for E10 is was still excessive. It is a good 5 min from the bus stop to the hotel altho that may be to do with the metro works that are going on. easier going back towards the station

Good Value for money! Its very basic but reasonably clean. Got for the budget minded I thought this was good value for money. However teh sliding door that back onto a shared balcony was broke. We told the receptionist who said it would be fixed when we were out. When we got back it was still open and broke. I think she just forget, but still not very safe!

The location of the hotel is perfect, it`s 15 minutes walking from the railway and bus station and few minutes from the famous Palazzo dei Normanni where you can start your visit of the city. Because of this the hotel is located in the dirty part of city, but if you prefere good connection to the centre, this is the best. Really polite staff and amazing breakfast in comparison with other italian hotels where you get only croissants and coffee, there was everything you need!

The room is warm (dec..) and clean. Good sound proof. Rich buffet breakfast.(eventhough it's obvious that they come from discount but what you get is what you pay !) Overall quality is as the price. We had to park our car in a garage (10euro/night) as the neighborhood doesn't look safe (as most part of Palermo ..) + 'Cool' staff (female) , never show a smile nor greet during our stay.

Bedbugs. That should be enough to scare you away, but in case it's not: They advertise being close to the Cathedral. That's a bit deceptive. It's a 20-minute walk to the Cathedral, but only a 10-minute walk to the Palazzo dei Normani. However, despite it's proximity to this landmark, the location is less than desirable. The hotel is located in a very sketchy neighbourhood. I'm a tall, strong man, so people don't usually mess with me, yet I felt very nervous walking down the street to the hotel after dark. The walls and door are paper thin, so you can hear everything that happens in adjoining rooms or the hallway. The staff seemed disinterested and sadly uninformed about local things of interest. After wasting 10 minutes attempting to get a simple question answered, I went online and had my answer in 2 minutes. But most importantly, I woke up in the morning with a crink in my neck from the uncomfortable bed and my arms and legs covered in bedbug bites.

It was in a walking distance to the city center. Breakfast was served in a pizzeria that belonged to the hotel. We could have there dinner as well. Rooms cleaned every day. Rooms airconditioned. The location was very poor. As two young girls we were afraid to go to the streets at night alone. Dirty and smelly streets. The whole bathroom was wet after having a shower, didn't have anything to clean it up with. Lights in the mirror didn't work. Italian neighbours were very loud. Didn't have a fridge in the room.
