The cascina captures the essence of Italian countryside. Quiet, peaceful, and lovely. The rooms are spotless and decorated in traditional and old Italian decor. The bathroom is covered in a charming mosaic. The bed is hard but comfortable. There is a television; however, there is no English-speaking channels. Unfortunately it was too cool at the time of my trip (mid May) to use the very lovely pool area and outdoor patio areas. Service was excellent with easy going staff to assist in shuttle service (to and from the train service). The restaurant is outstanding. I had all my evening meals there. Try the Florentine steak and the chocolate cheescake. Both excellent. This is country. The nearest transportation is the local train depot in Lastra a Signa, which is approximately 2.5 miles from the cascina. I didn't have a car and had to rely on the shuttle service offered to me. I would recommend having the use of a car to explore the Tuscan countryside. The staff has very limited English-speaking ability.

Nice location for country side trips, even world famous Florence is not far away. However one has to come with his own transportation for the public transport is poor. One has to pay everithing. Never been in hotel where even watching tv has to be paied. :-(

Nice large room with a fireplace and separate sitting area but could only get black and white tv and nothing in English. It was about 6 km from a train station that took us into Florence Staff ignored us for quite a while when we arrived even though they could see that we were waiting

Where to begin......The Hotel is situated outside of a small town amongst olive groves and vineyards. The hotel is a refurbished farm villa with multiple buildings and various configurations of rooms. The hotel comes with a great breakfast served on the open air patio restuarant. It has a removable roof that they open and close according to the weather.. At night this becomes a destination spot for locals and hotel guests for dinner. We stayed a the hotel for 5 nights and ate there everyone of them! We tried everything on the menu with the 6 of us ordering different dishes. The food was superb and reasonably priced. The waitstaff ( especially Mina ) was terrific! The rooms are arranged in different houses. My wife and I stayed in a ground floor double with a king bed and separate bath. The room was spotless (although smoking is allowed and the smell was still apparent). The air conditioning was great and able to be regulated. Our four older children had a quad on the second floor with two rooms and a bath. The problem was being on the top flor the heat of the day made the room quite hot and the a/c unit was only in the larger room (not enough BTUs for the size and/or # of people. THe only wrinkle in a wonderful trip.

The room / appartment was perfect for 4 persons. They have a splendid garden area with nice pool of 20m which makes it a good stop before going further south. The kitchen is quit good and the menu offers lots of local specialties. On saturday night they have lots of local customers, because they are good. The restaurant has difficulties to manage the volume. So eat early and you are ok. No restaurant options before 19:30u.

Hotel restaunt is a highlight: good food and cheap prices! Rooms are confortable but in mine there was no shutters on one of the rooms.

1)Their location in pure Tuscany's nature,2) the kindly staff, 3) the large and comfortable room, 4) their good restaurant. Good value for price. Weak wi-fi, no guideposts for Cascina de Fagiolari (far from principal routes), a little difficult to pass heavy suitcases from car to room and return.

Good location. During the summer, for economy, the set the air cond to the minimum. If you stay in a double room, you maybe can sleep. But with more people in the room (4), it's better to sleep outside. Got pictures from my room showing 31ºc at 1:00am. Staff is terrible. The owner almost punch me in the face when I tried to complain.

The room was spatious and very clean. Air conditon was functioning and area was very calm despite a busy restaurant. A swimming pool is nice, but much more pleasure gave us the restaurant. Full of locals actually we had to wait to get in. Perfect, reasonably priced, definitely not a turist rip-off . Internet was available in reception on desktop computer for free. The breakfast was extended continental so we were very pleased. This hotel is more B&B, but if you do not expect English speaking receptionist this is not a problem. Location is 15 km from Firenze not a problem with car and navi, but otherwise quite far from Firenze and also from train station. We had a car so we really loved this calm country refuge after a day in noisy city.

Definitely the restaurant, the fact that the hotel is in the Toscan country but still 15km from Florence, the vineyards around it, the garden, helpfulness of the staff, hotel/room design... Sound insulation was poor as we heard everything in the hallways and adjacent rooms, mosquitoes...

The hotel is located in the hills outside Lastra a Signa and is very nice and relaxing. We had a hard time finding the road that leads up the hill to the hotel. Better street signs and a hotel sign would help a lot.

The location of the hotel was wonderful, because you see the tipical Tuscan village with hills, olive trees, and grape from the hotelm. Firenze is only 15 minute by car. The staff was very friendly, they helped in any question. The room was clean and normal. The restaurant of the hotel is very good, all dishes are very tasty. The breakfast is very good. The internet work only next to the reception.

This hotel is quite small but it is adjacent to their full service restaurant that is very busy with locals, meaning if the local Italians eat there, you know the food is excellent. We ate there 4 of the 5 nights we stayed and was never disappointed. Our room was a little noisy early evening because we were near the restaurant kitchen and in the morning because we also faced the small road. It was not enough to bother us and other rooms were better positioned and I imagine more quite.

The location and views are beautiful...would be a perfect location for a weekend wedding party. The restaurant is excellent. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Very little English is spoken by some staff, so bring your phrase book. One restaurant staff spoke good English, which helped very much at dinner. The included breakfast is very good. Have no complaints, place was great.
