Cascina Spinerola Country Hotel    

As always a wonderful place to spend a weekend in the midst of lovely nature and great food. Chiara and her staff is friendly and helpful as always. The pool was relaxing. The food and wine was excellent! See you again soon.

We stayed at this hotel in September 2012 with friends and family for a week The structure has been nicely renovated maintaining a good balance between the old and the new. It is surrounded by gardens and fields, a pool area and a restaurant on site. There is also ample parking facility although the area is covered in gravel and your car is bound to get dirty very quickly. The rooms are basic but quite well appointed although on the small side. Other negative points regarding the rooms are the wardrobes which by any standard are tiny and the plumbing noises can be a bother during the night. A good quality breakfast is served downstairs in the morning room although the same food is served every day and after a while it gets boring. The location is nice but you need to be willing to drive several miles everyday to get to nearby point of interests.

What I did not particularly enjoyed is that you, as a guest, have to wait around the availability and convenience of the hotel Staff rather than the other way around. Although some of the Staff went a long way to meet your needs, other, I think she is the cook/part-owner was plainly rude, borderline insolent in her manners. The hotel could be a good option for a week-end stay but not longer. Another thing which I found quite impertinent are the prices applied to the bar and to the lunch menu (salads, cold meat and cheeses). For a whiskey ordered at the bar I was charged 10 Euros. Considering that the same drink in Asti and in the region is priced at 5 Euros.

It was in a good location, the rooms were clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel as a whole lacked comforts and homely touches. It felt almost like during the renovations (which have been done very well), there was no money left for soft furnishings and little touches to make it feel more welcoming and give it a warm atmosphere. For example, there is a hugh bar area renovated beautifully, but there are no tables and chairs or sofa's on which to enjoy your drink ! There is a small room off the bar which has one sofa and 2 chairs. Hardly enough given the size of the hotel. The gardens were a little uncared for too. Having said all that, I would stay there again if I returned to the area as we didn't see much else, and the rooms were clean and comfortable.

We liked the ideal location, allowing for day trips into the beautiful countryside and easy visits in the evening to the village Moncalvo. The friendly and open reception and discreet attention of all the staff to our needs. Excellent dinners with excellent wines from the Cascina vineyard (other wines are also available). The calm. We stayed one week and enjoyed every day.

The staff was very friendly and tried to be as helpful as possible. The hotel is located next to a charming village where we had several wonderful dinners. You really need to know some Italian to visit this area.

Sehr ruhig, etwas abseits von Moncalvo gelegenes rustikales Hotel. Bei der Renovation wurden die Backsteingewölbe teilweise erhalten. Wunderschöne Aussicht auf die umliegenden Hügel. Sehr zuvorkommendes Personal und gutes Essen.

Sehr freundlicher Familienbetrieb. Sehr hilfsbereit. Die ganze Anlage wurde uns von Ciara gezeigt und erklärt.

Wir sind gegen 15:00 Uhr eingetroffen, an einem sonnigen und warmen Tag. Sogleich fragten Sie uns, ob wir direkt aufs Zimmer wollten oder zuerst in den Garten etwas trinken gehen. Wir entschieden uns für den Garten. Die Küche war zwar schon zu, doch zauberten Sie uns eine schöne Fleischplatte und dazu gab es den Hauseigenen Chardonnay. Beides schmeckte super! Auch gegenüber allen anderen Gästen waren sie sehr aufmerksam und erfüllten jeden Wunsch. Alles wirkt sehr herzlich und familiär. Das Zimmer war auch sehr gross, hell und sauber. Für ein 3-Stern Hotel einfach top. Neben einer weiteren Weinverkostung von den Hausweinen, halfen Sie uns auch beim buchen von weiteren Besichtigungen. So durften wir z.B. eine schöne Besichtigung im Weingut Rivetto in Sinio erleben. Schon alleine die Aussicht lohnt sich. Leider assen wir nur am ersten Abend dort, da laut Booking das Restaurant geschlossen wurde. Für den zweiten Abend hatten wir schon woanders reserviert. Ich würde vorab beim Hotel direkt Anfragen, ob Sie ein Abendessen servieren, denn auch das schmeckte vorzüglich. Für mancher mag die Lage vielleicht nicht optimal sein, da Moncalvo nicht sehr gross ist, doch wer einfach das "dolce far niente" geniessen will, wird sich im Cascina Spinerola sehr wohl fühlen. Die Zeit ging für uns viel zu schnell vorbei, so dass wir sicherlich bei unserem nächsten Besuch im Piemont wieder vorbei schauen werden.

Man wird überall freundlich aufgenommen; sehr gute Restaurants mit piemontesischer Küche zu bezahlbaren Preisen, noch kein Touristenrummel in der Vorsaison.

Benzin kann man (in Italien) ausserhalb der öffnungszeiten nur mit Euro- Noten und nicht mit den üblichen Kreditkarten (visa, Master Card) tanken. Keine ausgeschilderten Wanderwege; man ist nicht auf das Wandern eingestellt

Non c'erano altri ospiti al hotel. La cena era cara rapporto qualita / prezzo . A Moncalvo aspettavo meglio. Il pane servito a cena e a prima colazione era secco.
