Hotel Castel Gandolfo  

Ante todo quiero avisar a todo viajero que el gps (sea cual sea) no esta actualizado y la calle que marca para subir hasta el hotel....ES Contramano. Esto es muy peligroso ya que es una subida importante. Y debe ser muy complicado retroceder marcha atras. Independiente de esto el hotel es un encanto, con pequenos balcones con vista al lago Albano.A Partir de Julio el Papa , los domingos bendice , en el interior de la plaza, a 200 mts del hotel. Extra, al lado del hotel esta ubicado el resturant bucci, con muy sabrosas comidas de la zona.Haydee y Oscar Marcovecchio , Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The hotel location, within the old town center of Castle di Gandolfo was fabulous. Our room was overlooking the lake and had beautiful views. There were great restaurants and bars right outside the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Getting to the hotel by car can be tricky, since it is located within narrow streets of an old town center. Gps will lead you astray.

Quiet room, good location right in the center, great view of lake and balcony (with lake view room). Staff always available and helpful. Once you figure out how to get to the hotel and staff explains where to park, the parking is pretty easy. We found free parking both days with no problem.

Room very small, internet didn't work in the room. For the price I was expecting better but you are really paying for the location.

Very handy to the Piazza, wonderful views over Lago Albano, close to the best restaurant in town directly underneath. The Staff were wonderful and friendly, and helped whenever asked.

Family run business, very comfortable and friendly. Staff eager to please in all aspects. A rural, small village on top of a hill with possibilities of hiking to neighboring villages and to the lake.

Hair dryer did not work and minor repair necessary on the closet.

Location is excellent, in center of Castel Gandolfo with view to Lake Albano, wiht nice restaurants nearby. Good rooms (single room is very small), nice service.

reaching by car is difficult, parking also.

Superb location. Friendly helpful staff. Comfortable and well equipped. No car park, not even a space to unload the car. But, we were warned; and what can you expect in the centre of a historic village, just metres away from the Pope's summer residence? Public parking is some distance away.

Great staff- nothing is a problem

Very friendly, anytime helpfull and intelligent personell. Excellent food, excellent location: fantastic view. Close to Roma if nesessery.

We were made so welcome at this hotel, it was clean and the location was beautiful the breakfast was lovely, I would definitely be coming back.

The breakfast was the best continental breakfast we had on this trip. The bath tub in the superior room was a delight.

As with many hotels, parking was a challenge.

This is a very quaint setting with a nice view of the lake and close to the Papal Square. The room was small, but comfortable. Breakfast was very good.

Parking is not available and the hotel is hard to get to. Fortunately, this was not a problem for us because we had family providing transportation for us.

We liked everything about Hotel Castel Gandolfo! From the moment we walked in the door we were amazed at how warm the welcome was. It was definitely the best we got while in Italy! Andrea and his family were very pleasant and went out of their way to help us with even the smallest thing, as did the rest of the staff. We were shown to our room, from where we had a breathtaking view of Lake Albano. We spent hours just watching the view change as the sun moved around the horizon. Even at night the view was spectacular. The continental breakfast at Hotel Castel Gandolfo was also very good. With a selection of breakfast cereals, fresh breads and pastries, cold meats, locally produced cheeses and jams. We really were spoiled for choice. While the hotel doesn't have it's own restaurant their are many to choose from within 30 seconds walk from the front door of the hotel. We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Hotel Castel Gandolfo and can't do it enough justice in words alone. We will defiantly be returning to our favourite Italian Hotel!!!

Wonderful service. I confirm, small rooms. Great for short trips. Surrounding beauty. I would recommend rooms with views of the lake/necessarliy. I recommend trips to the seaside to Sabaudia far 76km. To resum up super, super beautiful place plesant hotel. MMMDabrowscy

The location was amazing as were the management and staff at the hotel.

A well run hotel that is very close to Rome but is situated in a lovely hill-top town that is the Pope's summer residence and which overlooks a beautiful lake. The young couple that run the hotel speak good English and really take a great interest in their visitors. The town is certainly worth a day or two and is within 30 minutes of central Rome but, particularly in summer, is a cooler climate than the main city. The rooms are small but well appointed and they generally have a good view of the lake and the surrounding countryside. Overall, a nice place to stay.

The service and friendliness of the staff is unparalleled in our experience of hotels across the world. Their advice on all things locally was invaluable and the staff in the office went out of their way to help us with the personal difficulties that arose during our stay.

The staff were so friendly and welcoming! Couldn't have been nicer. The room was very clean and well appointed, with a beautiful view of the lake. Breakfast was delicious. We would definately return.

A nice little hotel in an historical house with central location. Our tiny rum was very clean and had a nice little balcony with stunning view over Lake Albano. The atmosphere was private and the family that runs the hotel made us feel at home immediately.

Be prepared for a couple of 100 meters to walk (upwards!) to car park. It’s hard to walk since I was ill (not the Hotels fault!), but car parking nearby would have been more convenient.
