The Castelletto is truly a Hotel but it is also a living Museum the collection of antiques from furnature to wall decorations make the setting com alive. Five night was great but I could have easily stayed for two full weeks so central to every thing in Chianti. The staff catered to planning every excursion and dinning experience and they were never wrong. Marco the owner treated everyone like his family so rare these days but so appreciated when it happens.
Really nothing, but sadley Marco will retire in a few years and when he does he indicated that he will donate the entire facility to the Italian trust - at which point Castelletto Di Montebenichi will no longer be an option.
Superb location, Interieur is one of a kind, Stuff is very helpfull and polite
Absolutely beautiful site and building with elegant furnishings and very attentive and friendly staff.
a bit difficult to reach
The Hotel lives with The Host. Marco - Host and owner - is a Special Person / typical italian and also not typical. Very reliable - very experienced what to do and what not. The 5 days stay were very Special - First class
The coffe is good / you just have to Order The Cappuccino - Then everything is ok
Unique property in Tuscany. Quite romantic. Marco and Barbara were most welcoming and hospitable. They were quick to recommend restaurants, wine-tastings, shopping, etc. On-site restaurant was excellent. The entire experience (4 nights) was perfect.
Excellent restaurant nearby. Beautiful interior decor. Owner very friendly. Complimentary drinks throughout which is a wonderful touch. Beautiful views from roof garden and beautiful gardens by pool area. Feels like we were guests in a castle.
If 20% cheaper would have been excellent value for money. Because of huge number of decor and furniture, inevitably some had been a little dusty. Perhaps the prices reflect the contents/ interior decor.
The Castelletto is a pearl hidden away in the tuscan hills. Beautifully restored and filled with period furniture, the real pleasure was being in a hotel that felt more like being a guest in a friend's or relative's house, and not a hotel at all. The pool area was simply heaven too! Marco made us feel very welcome and provided all the information and service we could have wished for - and was great fun to talk to.
We could only stay for one week...
Warm welcome to lovingly restored historic castle/palazzo. Great common areas and pool with magnificent view of countryside. Nice breakfast buffet and cocktail hour hosted by owner, Marco who will offer suggestions for dining and touring. Very peaceful, due to remote location.
Location Views Building Osteria - Gino
Breakfast could be better
Beautiful Setting Unique historical building Warm welcome by the owner Fabulous communal rooms Wonderful garden and pool Great local restaurant Drinks in the lounge were complementary
Wonderful, friendly, welcoming staff. Always willing to recommend places to eat and help make reservations. Clean, comfortable rooms. Beautiful location, stunning views. The building itself was filled with history and charm. Was the best place we stayed on our entire 2 week honeymoon through Italy! Recommend 100% to anyone looking for a quiet, peaceful, beautiful place to stay.
A unique experience for lovers of Tuscany. Building authentic and pictures do not lie. We were afraid it would be damp like most old palaces, but we found everything clean and fresh. Not too isolated and yet with all the quiet and the views. Probably pool with beautiful scenery in the world. Marco is not only the perfect host but also a personality you always hope to meet when you vacation. Great.
Beautiful hotel with stunning views, amazing gardens, a great pool, and beautiful antiques. There are common rooms for reading, an open bar, and beautiful art. It's easy to tour Tuscany from here. Remote but relaxing with an amazing staff.
Nothing. It was perfect.
Marco was a fabulous host. We could not have asked any more of our stay at the castle.
If you need silence in hearth of Tuscany it is the perfect location.
You have to remember that living in the castle you will not be able to see Touscany from room window, but always you can go on the top of the tower.
Unique casteletto, beautifully restored. Remote location in beautiful countryside. Quiet. Excellent service from interesting host. Remarkable collections of antiques. A wonderful escape from the city.
The atmosphere, the owner Marco made you feel so welcome. It was like you were your own home.
Macro is very friendly and tell us a lot of things in Italy. We have a good day in this small town and the environment is really really relaxing in all day! In the castle, everything is amazing. You can spend all day in the a place with music, a drink and a book!
Marco was a wonderful host. Very friendly and knowledgeable about the places of interest in the surrounding area. The antiques were marvelous!
This is a beautifully restored castle! We met the owner who was very friendly and gave us the name of one of his favorite restaurant in Florence, which was a great tip! All the staff were very friendly and helpful and the free breakfast was amazing. We had dinner in the restaurant nearby and it was fantastic! Make sure that you get a chance to eat there. Lovely family run restaurant that adds to the whole experience. Just a really beautiful spot and we would definitely recommend staying here for the castle experience. Really great spot.
This castello is a jewel in a little hamlet on top of a hill with spectacular views over the surrounding valleys. The owner, Marco, is delightful and does everything he can to help you. It is exquisite, with extraordinary attention to detail. Don't miss the terrace on the roof with 360 degrees views of the valleys and mountains.
We loved every minute of our time at the Castelletto and can't recommend it highly enough. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated with antiques, art, books in every nook and cranny and the location is amazing (surrounded by Tuscan hills, but only a half hour drive from Siena). The hotel is very quiet and relaxing and all the little details have been considered in terms of facilities (including complimentary drinks hour in the evening, a minibar in the bedrooms that is re-stocked daily at no additional charge, and a fridge-full of drinks, snacks and ice cream for a very reasonable additional charge down by the swimming pool). Best of all is the service you receive from the hotel owners - Marco is a fountain of knowledge about where to go and what to do and is ever-ready to offer chat and advice.
