Castello Chiola Dimora StoricaVia Degli Aquino, 12, 65014 Loreto Aprutino (Show map) Wonderful, Score from 85 reviewsCastello Chiola is a magnificent hotel housed in an ancient castle above the small medieval town of Loreto Aprutino, located in between the Gran Sasso National Park and Pescara. Stately and sophisticated, this hotel offers you unique accommodations in a startlingly beautiful area. As well as being spacious and sumptuously decorated, rooms enjoy high ceilings and views of the sea or the mountains, along with modern amenities. The swimming pool with its terrace has a particularly enchanting view of the surrounding hills and is a lovely, tranquil setting for a drink or a swim. Castello Chiola’s atmospheric restaurant is situated in the castle’s ancient cellar and serves a selection of local and Mediterranean dishes. Half an hour from the sea and a similar distance from the mountain tops, there is much to explore in the surrounding area. Nature reserves, where numerous sports can be enjoyed are on your doorstep, as are pretty, medieval towns known for their cheese production, olive cultivation or simply their spectacular views. Beautiful place to spend a night if you can. The breakfast was over the top. Pat of the charm was the town itself. A lively lived-in town that was good to walk around in the evening. The price was very good, how often can one afford to stay in a castle? Very beautiful.

This is a very nice hotel in a large old palazzo that has been completely refurbished to true 4 star standards; it occupies a great location on the edge of the village; the room was spacious, clean, and modern with a quiet AC, flat screen TV, and a nice bathroom; the bed and pillows were very comfortable; the front desk was especially helpful and friendly; the buffet breakfast was wonderful; there's on site parking as well. The WiFi reception can only be described as terrible and not befitting of a 4 star hotel; it didn't reach the rooms, and hardly worked even in the lounge area near the front desk; rooms had carpets instead of tile floors; the pool was small but satisfactory; there were no English instructions for using the TV, nor was the castello's history translated into English; on site parking space is not adequate if the hotel gets crowded (be sure to make a reservation); there were a few mosquitoes floating around the lounge area.

The breakfast was really good! The rooms were really large and comfortable. There can be weddings while you stay there and therefore it can get noisy..

Fabulous location and beautifully restored castle. We had a wonderful, very large room. The interior courtyard was a magical place to sit and have a drink in the evening. No complaints as such but when a wedding is in progress the hotel guests have limited access to reception and dining areas. The staff were mostly helpful. the food in the diningroom was a bit disappointing.

Beautiful setting. Fantastic 'familiy' suite (208). Staff were really very helpful. We used it as a stop off on the trip from the south back to Rome airport.

The castle lies in a beautiful landscape and is well preserved. In 20 min you are at the seaside. It is suitable to get away from the hectic city of Rome in order to stay in a tranquil beautiful environment. The room and bathroom were spacious, the bed comfortable. In principle very posive impression if.... we were a bit disappointed to learn that during our weekend stay a wedding took place at this hotel. it meant that we had to leave the pool area at 17.00 hrs and that we could not have dinner outside. we were looking for a quiet weekend stay coming from Rome and having done some visits on our way! We think that in this situation a hotel should not rent out any rooms to other guests when they cannot provide the offers the guests pay for (pool, dining on the terasse, parking) - therefore it is too expensive - even when the price was reduced (one should know why!). We could have dinner in the restaurant but when we saw the preparations for the wedding we presumed that the kitchen might not have any concentration left for the other guests. to summarize: the hotel seemed to be quite preoccupied with this function! if we would go again we would inquire first what is going on during that time! sth else: a bathing gown and towels for the pool would have been nice.

Great staff, super accommodation, superbly restored. To quote another guest “My room is bigger than my flat”. It was a great experience overlooking a lovely village, both old and new. We will return again to experience the relaxed comfort of Castello Chiola. The pool area needed some work. However I don’t think they open this area till June. I could be corrected on this.

Castello Chiola Domora Storica is situated on a fantastic spot at the top and the hart of Loreto Aprutino. The views are stunning. The hotel offers first class rooms and service. The staff was very nice, helpful and service minded. Breakfast was perfect. Parking our car at the hotel parksite was no problem and free of charge. We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and can really recommend it The Restaurant needs some improvement. The setting is beautiful, but in a country like Italy it should not be a problem to serve first class dishes. The present menu (as well as the taste) is standard and not surprising at all.

This is a fantastic hotel in a castell! The only problem that could be mentioned is that parking place is not large enough if the hotel is full.

Sicuramente l'aspetto esterno del maniero è affascinante. L'interno, seppur spoglio, conserva in parte le strutture murarie originarie, con soffitti a volta.
