It's off the beaten path and we loved it! We loved staying in the castle with a lovely large room and lovely gardens. The food was AMAZING and the staff was super sweet & helpful. A great treat if it's an area you want to visit. Very happy! :-)
Heard it had a pool but it was too far away to check out (not on property.)
beautiful castle and surrounding buildings, huge rooms, lovely dinner.
the swimming pool was a long walk downhill
The location is quite stunning
We loved the place, staff were great, food was excellent, rooms were large
Was a little hard to find, but worth the effort.
Amazing surroundings, ambiance, friendly stuff, and it is really a castle - amazing place to stay.
The location is great. Qiet, nice place outside of the city, though you need a car to go around. Limited walking possibilities due to the traffic on the roads. The castle is very charming itself.
I think the hotel has a lot of potential. The restaurant half-bord is providing too much food, hard to eat all 4 courses. We loved vegetarian dishes, dolce, pasta, but meat courses were not up to the standart of Michelin guide restaurant. No information about events or places to visit around. Could be nice to feel that the hotel takes care of you and provides possibilties (like vine tasting, visting of vine factory, cooking etc). Probably it is great to stay there just 1- 2 nights for the atmosphere. Better command of english would help too. Breakfast buffey is very limited.
Location and beautiful view of the property on the outside. Most stuff is very helpful and try hard to make your experience there better.
The property is very run down. Needs a lot of maintenance inside and outside. Our room had leaks all over the ceiling. Bathroom's shower is extremely tiny.
The place and surroundings were very nice. Good restaurant and nice rooms.
According to the description the hotel has a pool, which is very nice during summer time. The pool was however not useable, as it was located far away from the hotel, full of rain water and not maintained at all. The picture in the 'Booking.com app' show a pool and a country house. This is not the actual hotel, but another resort located some hundred yards away and consequently misleading. Otherwise very nice.
Staff very helpful Castle full of charm Shabby sheek
Gardens run down
Castello dell Oscano offers more than one might expect. Its imposing towers are a delight to see, even on this return trip. The room was comfortable and apart from a slight hitch with a cleaning issue, which we resolved ourselves, our stay was problem free and luxurious.
We found the supper meals unnecessarily complex in description and somewhat lacking in their delivery. The house wine that we enjoyed on our first night was inexplicably unavailable on our second night. However, the service was charming throughout and the use of the pool was a bonus.
It is a grand setting and we have stayed before. Comfortable bed and very nice room.
We felt the standard of service was not as good as it used to be. The place looked a bit tired and needed a spruce up. The breakfast for the price of the stay was poor.
The entrance stairway and rooms are quite grand
We were really looking forward to our visit, but the whole presentation is very tired and run down. The pool is actually located at the entrance which is 300 metres from the castle. The gardens are poorly maintained, the restaurant is marketed as Michelin but was overpriced and uninspiring. Breakfast was poor. Some staff were trying their best but there was an overriding lack of motivation and customer service. It's such a shame, this has so much potential, but needs significant investment and customer focus by owners
Free wifi, excellent food, beautiful scenery.
Pool is NOT in castle grounds as picture suggests. You have to drive down or walk down. No refreshment facilities at pool. Pool was not available for 5 days. Severe staff shortages, no bar. As a result we left two days ahead of our schedule. Not impressed and neither were the Belgians that we're staying. Room was disappointing with no view and there were other rooms available. Castle grounds were unkempt/overgrown giving the feeling of neglect. Such a shame as it could have been lovely. We asked to see manager but he was I available. If you are looking for the fairytail castle be warned, not all dreams come true!
When we first arrived there were very few guests and we got extraordinary service. However, as the week progressed and more people arrived, the staff became harried and cold. We truly lived there like royalty.
The rooms were not as clean as they could be. Also, some nights were very noisy and the hotel seems to have lots of trouble enforcing the 'no smoking' rule. The heat went off a few times, but the staff was extremely apologetic about this and provided extra blankets. It was spring, so it was only slightly cold during the night,
The experience was amazing. I will return with the family because the place is really nice
This place is amazing! The castle is beautiful and charming, food is very good.
It was nice the staff allowed us to stay up late in the common area playing cards with our group of travelers. There is something pretty neat about drinking whisky and playing cards at night in a castle.
The location was rough. Our group didn't mind so much because we live in Italy and get the opportunity to travel a lot. However, if I was coming from the states for a Tuscan get away, I would not stay here. I will not stay here in the future.
