Noise of repair work during breakfast.
Beautiful, rooms Swimming pool Great food in restaurant Helpful staff
an umbrian retreat! we are a crazy, hard-working couple, and we needed to "decompress." the cozy, exquisite confines of this castle, it's views, it's food, it's staff, the moody weather and the scenes outside the castle windows, the jazz in perugia, dips in the pools~ all of this could not have been more perfect. ~ cameron and tiffany clark
Absolutely unique castle architecture converted into a hotel with maze like access to rooms adds fun to experience. Amazing medieval ambience!
Daughter was a bit freaked out by medieval ambience.
The view, the food, pasion of the staff . The history of the castle.
Great location Excellent food - really good choice on buffet breakfast and Michelin star restaurant Staff very helpful Lovely views from our room
This is just a fabulous hotel at a discrete but totally manageable distance from the center of the lovely Perugia. It's in a combo of an old castle and new facilities designed to blend beautifully with the old. Rooms are great, service terrific,, views wonderful. Just a great place to stay and our room, looking out the back, was entirely reasonable for what we got. The restaurant is also excellent although you will want to eat in Perugia and surrounding area as well, including the agriturismi. The hotel was the perfect resting place during the Umbia Jazz Festival - itself a terrific event. And it's within easy shot of Gubbio, Todi and all the other great Umbrian towns and not to far from Florence and Siena as well.
the garden is beautiful.the room is very cleaning,on the top of the castle you can have a good view ,
Location, excellent for exploring Umbria
Fabulous location, stunning views, personal and interesting building. Rooms were small but tastefully equipped and beautiful gardens with private areas to sit. We had a restaurant disaster that was quietly and satisfactorily resolved which was much appreciated.
We booked the restaurant for dinner after an excellent lunch. We were a party of eight and they struggled to cope. The wine, which we had enjoyed at lunch and ordered for the evening was no longer available! The wine list was unnecessarily enormous so we had to reorder. The food was good until the main course which was poor. On a more positive note I am sure a smaller group would have been more successful.
The roof of the main building. Dinners, steak. Dinner and pool minus the mosquitos
Restaurant was a little over priced. No glasses in the room.
Absolutely stunning location and grounds. Historic castle with all modern day amenities (without spoiling the ambience of the age of the castle). On site restaurant was the best dinner that we had in Italy. Friendly, efficient staff.
Unique accommodations and very luxurious.
sense of history and the restaurant
It is a very quiet and peaceful location. It also has a great restaurant. The breakfast was also very nice. It has sauna and steam bath, which is great for rainy days.
The in-room WiFi did not really work. Perhaps the thick wall of the castle has something to do with this. Our room was not too spacious.
Marvelous hotel with spectacular view. It is a real Castello!
Pretty much everything!
Situation lovely views, comfortable room. Reception staff very helpful and friendly
Staff in dining room not so friendly and only cognac no brandy to choose from after dinner,
Very good breakfast and interesting surroundings (castle and view). Friendly and helpfull staff.
Small bathroom and price/quality could be better
Hotel was gorgeous! A wow!
Restaurant was a disaster. Unable to cater for large numbers. Main course poor and was refunded. Service sooooo slow!
location.ambiance. good restaurant
The location is utterly gorgeous, the staff friendly and obliging, the facility has a wonderful ambience and the peace and calm are balm to the soul. The Michelin starred restaurant is exciting but there is another wonderful restaurant (Stella) in the nearby town which can provide more mainstream but nonetheless fabulous food, with a delightful couple who own and run it.
Location veiw dinner at the resturant. Evrything was excellent
The views are great. The weather was dreadful, so couldn't use the pool or garden, which I know from last year's visit are great.
Really disappointed with our rooms - we stayed last year and had very spacious ground floor rooms. This time we were put on the top floor where the rooms are much smaller. Also, the restaurant has changed and been subsumed into the mainstream one - it doesn't have the same special atmosphere. Also, when we had the lamb which came in two cuts, one was perfectly cooked the other under, and we sent it back - no apology. Generally, the atmosphere of the hotel wasn't what it was last year.
A dream come true for anyone who wished to live in a castle. Everything from the staff to the cleanliness was off the charts fabulous. .
