The historical atmosphere of the building and furnishings are a delight . We were warmly welcomed by the staff which was very comforting as we arrived after dark after a long journey. The care to provide us with anything we needed such as a picnic lunch by the pool with quality food and wine, made our stay a joy. The peacefulness of the surroundings added to the total relaxation and the family owned and run hotel made the whole experience personal and enjoyable.

The one evening meal we had was the worst we had in Umbria and the most expensive. The young waiter was not helpful - an exception to the otherwise wondeful staff. The great views come at the expense of 15 steep route down to Assisi. Dim lighting in the room. Difficult to adjust shower heads tended to spray the bathroom floors

Located in an old house on a hill with excellent views of Assisi and the Umbrian spaces. Beautiful garden with lots of places where you can retire and relax. The attentive staff and great breakfast.

Small family run hotel with great attention to detail. Fabulous location close to Assisi. Of the six hotels we stayed at during our July 2012 tour of Tuscany and Umbria this was our favourite. It really is a hidden gem - a joy to stumble over a chilled boutique style hotel that gets things right for a reasonable price. Dinner and breakfast - both eaten outside - were also marvellous. Wish I was there now rather than the office!

Friendly, welcoming staff, beautiful location about 10-12 minute drive from Assisi. The views from Castello Di Petrata were truly beautiful. The pool was so refreshing it made the warm afternoons pass nicely! The breakfast provided was very nice and the setting can't be beat. Our stay was 3-4 July 2012 during a very hot period throughout Italy.

Our only small complaint was there is no air conditioning. We had a larger upper room and it was quite warm during the day. The lower floors seemed cooler as we decended the stairs, so book a lower room or plan your visit to this beautiful place during cooler weather, but don't bypass Castello Di Petrata during your visit to Assisi.

The hotel is in a stunningly beautiful setting, in the hills looking towards Assisi. The lovely stone building sits in substantial grounds, with an outdoor (unheated) swimming pool and plenty of areas to sit and relax. The staff were friendly and welcoming but not at all intrusive. All parts of the hotel were clean and pleasantly furnished. Breakfast was included in the room rate and was good (typical continental breakfast - fruit, yoghurt, cold meat/cheese, bread, croissants).

With the temperature well into the 30s, the bedroom (we had a junior suite) was very hot and a fan would have been welcome. The evening meal was quite expensive and not the best we have enjoyed, but that would be our only real negative in a 3-day stay.

Stunning views and lovely property! We were delighted!! Welcoming staff and delicious food. We drove from Rome and spent the day sightseeing in Assisi. When we arrived at the hotel after an exciting drive up the hill, we found beautiful gardens, warm staff and a spacious, well- accomodated room with gorgeous views. Imagine our surprise of having a claw-footed bathtub perfectly set up to enjoy the view of the countryside. Dinner was very nice and breakfast even better. Wish we had time to enjoy spa services and that we were staying during the summer when it was warm so we could stay for the pool, hiking in the gardens and countryside and spa. We will have to go back! Highly recommend it for couples like us.

La posizione dell'hotel è fantastica, si vede tutta Assisi e la natura che circonda la dimora è pazzesca, rilassante, il giardino è tenuto in maniera superlativa. Le camere sono spaziose e arredate elegantemente. Il personale è estremamente gentile.

Alcuni piccoli difetti da migliorare, come una porta che non si chiudeva e la doccia troppo piccola. La ristorazione in genere non era all'altezza della struttura.

Dieses Hotel ist einzigartig. Ein Haus mit Stil.Die Gartenanlage ist sehenswert; Pflanzen, Teich und die verschiedenen Sträucher.Der Duft der verschieden Pflanzen ist wunderbar. Die Architketur ist beeindruckend. Die Herzlichkeit der Familie und des Personals verstärken den Wohlfühleffekt.

Die von Google empfohlene Route ist nicht die beste von den zwei Möglichkeiten.

L'handicap dell'overboking che mi ha fatto perdere la junior suite. Non mi sembra granchè giusto prilvilegiare le prenotazioni dirette rispetto a quelle tramite siti internet

la struttura è di grande, sobria eleganza; il paesaggio all'intorno è di grande suggestione; i proprietari ed il personale sono gentilissimi, disponibili ed affabili; insomma quanto di più vicino alla perfezione ci si possa aspettare.

Non è piu' ammesso bruciare i rifiuti, comprese le plastiche, nascosti da una siepe. Purtroppo è quello che ho visto accadere la sera del mio soggiorno. Spero la direzione dell'Hotel possa cambiare rotta da subito, dettata da una coscienza, cultura e valori ambientali 'normali'. (ma evidentemente non scontati)

Tranquillità in un luogo appartato in ambientazione montana immerso nella natura con splendido panorama.

Ottima la posizione con splendida vista su Assisi e sul tramonto. Belle e spaziose le camere (a noi hanno fatto un up-grade in una bellissima suite). Piacevole la sala giochi con biliardo per trascorrere la serata dopo una buona cena al ristorante dell'hotel. La gentilezza dei proprietari e del personale, in particolare la simpatia e competenza di Federico (il sommelier). Lasciatevi consigliare da lui per i vini!!!!

Lo stato delle strade dell'Umbria, sono piene di buche!!!!!! Ovviamente il Castello non c'entra.

La cortesia dello staff, la qualità della prima colazione. Posizione strategica, vicina ad Assisi ma isolato in collina (molto suggestivo).

Acluni suggerimenti per rendere migliore una struttura già molto buona: 1) in stanza c'era grande umidità; 2) i bagni andrebbero ristrutturati, non sono all'altezza del resto della struttura; 3) considerata l'offerta culinaria della zona, il ristorante non offre un ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo. La qualità del cibo è buona, ma il prezzo è un po' alto.

Il soggiorno in questo posto magnifico è stato davvero piacevole: il luogo è veramente fantastico ed è allietato da un meraviglioso centro benessere e da personale veramente gentile! Vorrei solo che fosse durato di più!
