Castello Di Petroia is a historic site made of several medieval buildings based around a 12th-century castle, set between Gubbio and Perugia. It offers unique rooms and free parking. The Petroia's 3 buildings, the Castellare Maggiore, Castellare Minore and Mastio preserve original architectural features. The castle was the birthplace of Federico da Montefeltro, Duke of Urbino in the 15th century. The rooms feature antique furniture, exposed wood-beam ceilings and old prints or paintings from the 18th-century. Some rooms also have a sofa-bed, a jacuzzi, and sweeping views out over the valley. Castello Di Petroia is also a large farm with white cattle. The grounds feature a sun terrace with swimming pool. Hotel Rooms: 11

This was truly one of the most unusual and wonderful experiences we have had. The castle is ancient and remote, and the feeling of otherworldliness is fantastic. Carlo and his staff have taken a very old castle and added all of the modern conveniences, making it the best of both worlds. Rooms are more than comfortable, yet retain their original character. A very creative chef makes fabulous dinners and there is a great breakfast buffet included. The staff is very personable and Carlo makes himself available. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our stay here and came back a second time during our trip. The location was gorgeous. In the Umbrian countryside, a largely intact medieval castle that has been tastefully restored. Our hosts were so hospitable. Our room was upgraded to a beautiful large room on the third floor that was bright and had a nice view. The food was excellent. We will very likely return here again in the future and will recommend this place to our friends travelling to Italy. My only complaint is that there is no castle-wide free WiFi. This would have been really nice

Very friendly staff, wonderfull atmosphere of 13th century castle, nice stylish rooms, beautiful views around, relaxing and quiet. Gubbio and Peruggia in 15 minutes where it's so nice to walk and to see plenty of medieval treasures...

Equipe de funcionários extremamente gentis, cenário de cinema, muito confortável. Ficamos neste hotel com o objetivo de conhecer Gúbio em viajem de 02 casais pela Itália. Fica uns 15km da cidade, então tem que ter carro. Mas certamente é um hotel diferenciado!

Borgo medioevale incantevole, personale disponibile e preparato. Pulizia e comfort delle camere eccellenti. Le torte fatte in casa per la prima colazione sono tra le migliori che abbia mai mangiato.

Historische omgeving (middeleeuws kasteel), in het schitterende landschap. Persoonlijke aandacht van het personeel. Zeer kleinschalig en de prijs is alleszins redelijk. Er werd ons eerst een kamer aangeboden waar geen uitzicht was. Na ons protest kregen wij een andere kamer met wat beter zicht op de mooie omgeving.

L'accueil chaleureux et personnalisé, personnel très serviable. L'ambiance et la beauté du lieu : le château médiéval authentique au milieu d'un belle campagne à 13km de Gubbio, la vue sur les montagnes, les chambres joliment décorées et confortables. L'excellent petit déjeuner avec les gâteaux fait maison par une mamie qui vous accueille avec le sourire, les confitures maison faites par la femme du propriétaire, très bonne cuisine pour manger le soir à des prix tout à fait raisonnables. Perrugia n'est qu'à une vingtaine de km et on peut y aller par une route pittoresque, idem pour Assise. On n'a plus envie de partir de ce lieu. Le wifi n'est accessible qu'à proximité de l'accueil et pas dans les chambres.

Posizione incantevole.Borgo medioevale suggestivo. Personale molto gentile e disponibile. Camera n.13 necessita sicuramente di interventi di manutenzione. La stanza è fredda e umida. il televisiore è da sostituire/riparare (tutte le immagini di un bel rosso sgargiante). Il bagno lascia alquanto a desiderare. I sanitari andrebbero sostituiti, lo stesso discorso vale per la doccia. Infine prassi alberghiera consiglia di non attribuire ad una stanza il numero 13. Ultima annotazione: se non vi è la volontà di ristrutturare la stanza sarebbe opportuno declassarla a standard.
