We had our dinner in the main hall of the castle. The food was great and the atmosphere of the castle made it a very romantic evening. Added to that; the staff is very friendly.

The room was not perfectly clean; bit dusty, even for a castle... The room was pretty hot in the Summer.

The castle itself itself is exactly as we expected from the description and pictures...... and there was a very good breakfast.

But we were very disappointed with the room as it was very, very dusty, will not be going back..

The castle was exactly what we expected from the pictures and description, it looks great on to of the hill overlooking the village with it's cobbled narrow streets and medieval atmosphere. This is not the kind of Disney fairytale castle, but the actual romantic medieval castle with stone and red brick walls and parapets and death holes. Unlike other reviewers we couldn't complain either about the cleanness or the restaurant. The balcony does have pigeon droppings and spider webs, but really, what do you expect from a castle's parapets? It's an outdoors area and there are many pigeons flying in the morning which we found entertaining. The restaurant in has the same simple medieval atmosphere and you can very well have a romantic dinner there. We met people that came there just for dinner. There doesn't seem to be a menu, it's just the host that explains what they can prepare that evening and makes recommendations. We actually liked it this way. The room and restaurant prices are excellent. The host even gave us some free welcome drinks the first evening there. All in all we'll take any opportunity to go there again.

Situated on village hilltop - looks gorgeous. Rooms nice - but mind the low beam going up to bedroom. Village nice - chemist for poorly wife, nice friendly bar / terrace. Also bank cashpoint & general store.

Castle had had an outdoor party the night before - left a bit untidy, and parking next to castle nearly impossible. Latter cleared later in day. A struggle to get in - doors closed. Eventually phoned number scrawled on door, and woke proprietor from siesta. Sick wife did not appreciate the wait. Did not eat that night, but restaraunt might be OK with some clientele present.
