Accommodating staff, fantastic location and very traveler friendly. We were just off Piazza San Marco, gondolier service right behind the hotel. The oldest hotel in Venice and very comfortable.
Nothing! The experience was very good indeed! Paulo went out of his way to make sure everything got done from dinner reservations, destinations and transportation...he is an excellent asset to the hotel!
Very small & noisy room (was overlooking the canal so I could hear people talking and laughing until very late); no blackout curtains (which meant the light came into the room as soon as the sun rose); no proper sound insulation; the reception staff were not very helpful; needs refurbishment (e.g. the walls need to be repainted). No value for money!
The location is great close to St Marco square.
Room was old, small seemed a little dirty. Front staff seemed overwhelmed with all the people was confusing checking in. Only some of the staff seemed friendly. This is not a 4 star hotel by any means.
Breakfast was very simple To connect to the Wifi was a need to re-enter the password, every day.
Well positioned, room was beautiful. Felt spoilt!
Shower head is located in a strange position which makes it difficult not to spill water all through the bathroom.
Location is easily accessible.
not much. Things are standard. Breakfast room is too crampy. ...
Very small room for price. Breakfast foods tasted like leftovers. Same exact thing everyday.
Great please to have a sit down on the bars balcony overlooking the gondolas... Helpful staff and friendly
Bring a pair of thongs as st marks square floods and it is not awesome
Wonderful location Nice place Lovely staff
No kettle in the room to make coffee.
Old design, too many stairs
For American travelers i can see why i read so many reviews and they are really mixed opinions. Hotels in Venice and other parts of Italy are not like the US. they are pricier and smaller than what we are used to. so having said that i would like to say that this was my 3rd trip to Venice and my first stay at this hotel. I would stay again, even though i thought it was expensive. The rooms were very nice, comfortable and clean. WiFi worked and breakfast was just fine. The staff was always helpful. We stayed for 2 nights and had nothing but a great experience.
Outdated rooms, poor WIFI.
The location is great
We called a head to make sure they have an Elevator so we shouldn't need to use stairs, when we checked in they gave us a room in the other side which need stairs to reach it. After we insisted to get different room they gave us the smallest room they had The breakfast has no vegetables but great fruits
Rooms are a bit tired and a pretty average breakfast. Definitely only a 3 Star Hotel. After a couple of months on the road, this was the most expensive Hotel we stayed in and it rated possibly the worst as value for money, but everywhere in Venice seems overpriced for what you get.
We liked everything - room was tiny and very nice. Great staff, decent breakfast, Gondola Central on canal. Really like this place.
Smallish room, but that's Venice.
Very bad price quality ratio. High prices for very obsolete structure...but it is in heart of Venice
close to everything you would want to do in Venice
Location, security and helpful staff. Also good sized room with bath and enjoyable breakfast.
Location was just by the square, and outside hotel was the gondola taxi stand, close to everything, friendly helpful staff.
I know this is my fault but I left two pairs of shoes in my room, I then changed rooms in the same hotel and stayed two more nights and no one told me about my shoes :(
This hotel is next door to St Marks Square and to wake up next to a gondola parking and pick up canal is wonderful.
Hotel access is very bad. Bedrooms and beds were very uncomfortable.
Great location. Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was lovely.
Beds to hard.
The location, the decoration of the hotel. The spectacle of the gondola from the balcony of the room.
Poor light in the rooms but you are not supposed to stay long....
