Looking for an elegant setting for your stay in Venice? Naturally you'd like to be near St. Mark's Square. Royal San Marco is a 3-minute walk from the basilica.
Score from 703 reviews Very good
We were only gonna be in Venice for 3 days 2 nights so I booked this hotel due to location. It did not disappoint. Hotel is right behind st mark's sq and easy to get to. There are two buildings, the main when you check in and another across the way. We were across the way and found it nice and quite. The rooms are well decorated, clean. We had no trouble with room or wifi. Breakfast was more than adequate for fueling up before a day in Venice. People who complain do realize that this hotel is old, but that's it's charm. If you want state of the art with a lavish buffet...GO TO VEGAS!! Unreal how people can find the littlest thing to complain about when in a place like Venice. Do yourself a favor, book it and enjoy!!
We loved their breakfast and the friendly staff, also it was full moon and spring tide,we had that wonderfull experience!
30 seconds walk to San Marco Square! The staff was very helpful with all our questions. Also, they have a "water door" - this means one can arrive from the airport or train station and get a "water cab" right into the hotel - no luggage rolling on uneven Venetian "streets". For a family, it's expensive (80EU$ ride), but very practical.
Breakfast food was very nice, but the room was always a bit crowded... Also the rooms could be bigger. It also looks a bit old, not like a 4 star hotel.
The location was ideal and the staff was very good.
Bedroom was well designed, breakfast were excellent. Staff were very very helpful and obliging.
Tabes in the dining room not well planned
Very charming hotel with old Venetian style decor in the bedroom. Quite dull in the room but it didn't bother us as we arrived mid-afternoon so we went out in town right away, and left the next morning. The noise from the godonlas outside didn't bother us and it was quiet at night, the windows are well insulated. The bathroom could do with refreshing. Breakfast was basic.
The bathroom could be more modern and the breakfast could have more choice.
Excellent and friendly staff. The best breakfast I had so far in an Italian hotel. Wonderful bed. Superb view from my room (of which I keep the number secret for a next stay
Not really (although the heating might be reduced to my liking).
The location of Albergo makes this hotel such a wonderful place to stay. Everything is at your doorstep or a shorth walk away.
Great location it is 2 steps away from San Marco Breakfast was OK
Old fashioned decoration (not a 4 star hotel) No dinner is available in the hotel I would worry about bed bugs Noisy room (2101)
LOCATION LOCATION good breakfast good commodities friendly staff
Perfect location, view, breakfast
Lack of bar and evening dining facilities.
Location was excellent, hotel was clean
Very old fashioned hotel. Our room was just outside the maids station, one morning they were constantly chatting for over an hour, very frustrating, the walls and doors are very thin. Bar in the hotel was never open.
Lovely Room Good breakfast Fantastic location
Great breakfasts! Fine coffee. Best location.
Location, location location
Price was high, hotel is showing its age and is tired, don't see any dinner or restaurant facilities apart from breakfast
This hotel is in a great location, convenient for sightseeing and restaurants. All the staff were friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, and a good variety of breakfast items, including bacon and omelette for those wanting hot food. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Venice.
It was a shame that the bar wasn't open during our stay.
I really enjoyed location! Staff are very nice. Good one!
Only 20 metres from St Marc's Sq. Friendly staff. Good breakfast! Warm,
Rooms small but adequate for short visit. Good wardrobe space but very little drawer space.
The view of gondolas from the bar and close to key places
Great location, room overlooking the canal, nice size.
The only problem was we couldnt close the curtains. Even though we had nets it didnt stop the light shining in from outside both from the canal and the lights on the outside wall of ths hotel.
Location excellent and real quaint look about it The restaurant was a little too small and too many tables all crammed together But all in all perfect for stay
Slightly outdated bathroom facilities
I had a problem because I had booked a single room by mistake. When I arrived with my girlfriend they told me they didn't have a double room to change, that the only solution was to use the single room as double room. The room was really tiny and we had to sleep in a single room but paying more 330 Euros for that!!!! Annoying
big room , really helpful staff
good breakfast but a bit boring
