Hotel was beautiful, especially the area near reception: piano, pool table, fireplace, bar area. Even though the lobby wasn't spacious, it was very comfortable and the lighting romantic. Standard double room was clean and beautifully furnished. Bathroom was spacious as well as the shower. Breakfast was excellent as well, especially the range of fresh juices.

Standard double room was small and the bed took maybe 50% of the space - it was hard to get around the bed.

We liked how the lobby was setup and the various rooms to lounge in but the room itself not so nice.

The room was extremely small with no view. the window looked out to vents. The worst part of the room was the fact the room smelled like cigarette smoke the entire time. They had no other rooms on the day of check-in to switch and the next day they did offer to switch our room but it was to inconvenient considering that we had unpacked and we didn't feel like packing again. We were disappointed that the hotel didn't offer a discount for the inconvenience. We probably wouldn't stay at this hotel again.

The staff was very friendly. It was nice and clean and the design was very nice and fresh.

Where do I begin....We got lost driving to the Cellai Hotel Florence because the gps had a problem and we called the hotel to get directions. The receptionist's answer was: "call tomorrow morning at 8.30 when somebody that talks english can give you directions" !!! We arrived at the hotel at 11pm, on a saturday night-Florence's city center is open to all cars to drive and park in most places after 7pm until 7am, but from saturday 7pm until monday 7am it's free parking. The same receptionist (who couldn't give us directions), told us that we had to pay the 24 euro to park our car because we cannot park it on the street. This is called theft! Also, the main reason I booked this hotel was because of the beautiful pictures of the canopy bed rooms they were listing on booking.com. The truth is that what we paid for and what we got were 2 completely different things. We paid for what looked like a 5 star room and we got -5 star room. The room, the bed & bed covers (no canopy bed), the bathroom and closet looked like they were 400 years old and were never preserved! There's nothing wrong with having antique furniture; but if people need to use them they need to be upgrated to liveable standards. The room smelled of dust, mold and had mosquitoes. When asked to change the room the receptionist said he had nothing available. We also complained to the receptionist in the morning who was very abnoctious and rude telling us that we got a great deal! What this hotel is advertising and what is actually giving to its clients is false advertising. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!!!

The hotel was like none we have ever seen. Fantastically laid out with a very historical theme. You can actually walk the hotel and look around at all the paintings or just relax in one of the many "hang out" lounges. Positioned well for shopping and sight seeing.

- Internet connection very bad - hotel staff not helpful at all and very disqualified - room was too small and noisy - parking service was awful , and took 30 - 40 min for the car to arrive.

Everything was perfect. Location, cleanliness, space, staff were great, breakfast was fantastic, food and surroundings by candlelight. The hotel is so cosy, with art and antiques around every corner.Three honesty bars, room very clean and loads of space. Receptionist reconised it was my birthday from my passport, and when I told him it was also our Silver Wedding Anniversary on the 5th, when we arrived back that evening, there was a bottle of prossecco and bunch of flowers in our room, this was just the icing on the cake. we were so pleasantly surprised at the beauty, the artwork, the comfort, and the perfect location of this lovely hotel. the rooftop garden was awesome. we will make this our first hotel choice when we return for our yearly visit to tuscany. I would recommend this gem to anyone visiting this beautiful city.

Flexible check in and check out times. Lovely hotel ad beautiful room. Breakfast was an amazing spread, something for everyone. Very comfortable stay. Nothing negative to say about the hotel itself.

Everything was perfect apart from we found the location a little difficult to find at first.

Hospitality of staff was fine. Location to tourist stuff was very good. The American style breakfast was wonderful, and unexpected. It was a lavish spread, well laid out, etc. Owner was generous in supplying wi fi connection without cost. Large bed was most comfortable. Room was thoughtfully decorated, if a bit chincy.

There was no natural light in the room, or in the breakfast room. There was no adaquate light in the room or bathroom for makeup.

Second year in a row. What a wonderful place to stay! The roof terrace is magical and the location is prefect! Will definitely go again! Thank you for another wonderful stay!

Shauna was exceptional! Truly all the other staff were so welcoming from the incredible assistants at breakfast to the other front desk clerks. The hotel was in a perfect location . Walking distance to the train and main inter city bus depot.Of all of our hotels , this was our favorite this summer. The breakfasts were exemplary and included in the price which really helped our budget. It was like walking through an art gallery each time you went up a different set of stairs.There are many little beautiful, well appointed room throughout the hotel which you need to explore. The rooftop terrace was perfect! One night we opened a bottle of Rose Champagne and brought some food and had a fabulous time.

Close to Firenze S.M.N., a little distance from the central area, no good restaurant nearby. Lovely hotel, historical, nice and clear.

The woman working the front desk spoke very good english and was very friendly. Its a 5 minute walk from the train station - not bad when carrying backpacks.

The rooms were not well cared for - water damage and mold in the rooms, poor lighting, smelled. The location takes you away from all the stores and sites and action.

Great location. A few minutes from the heart of Florence. The ambiance was amazing: a maze of little greatly decorated rooms, around the lobby and at every floor. Each room was very inviting for a pause in the middle of the day. The bar was a honesty bar with a nice veriety of drinks (albeit a little too warm at times).

The air conditioner unit located in the room was insufficient for an old building. The room was barely an escape from the outside heat. An afternoon nap would be impossible! It was 39 outside and not much cooler inside.

Be aware there is no parking. Parking service is offered at 21 euro per day

Excellent location staff very friendly and helpful. We arrived at 8.am, dead tired after a sleepless overnight train ride, and had a room by 8.20, even though check-in usually isn't until 12.00

We loved the Check in Staff, wonderful breakfast with candles and the roof top garden! Wish we could have stayed longer and of all the hotels we stayed in felt this was best value for money.
