The Atlantic Palace is a historic hotel next to Florence Santa Maria Novella Train Station. The rooms of the restored 14th-century monastery offer a classic style, an LCD TV, and air conditioning.
Score from 721 reviews Very good

Room Mate Luca is in the historic center of Florence, a quarter mile from Michelangelo’s David in the Accademia Gallery.
Score from 1588 reviews Excellent
The staff was wonderful, the location was absolutely ideal super close to all historic locations, within walking distance! The room and hotel are absolutely gorgeous and so is the rooftop terrace! Will be coming back! Shona and Daniele at the front desk are wonderful!
We have stayed at the Cellai several times over the years since it is convenient to family who live nearby. It is a beautiful, well run hotel. We have come to know the front desk staff who are friendly and professional and have greeted us like old friends. This is definitely the place to stay in the historic center and offers comfort and value for money. We'll be back.
The hotel is very centrally located, just a short walk from the main train station and the central market. My wife and I very much loved our room, our bathroom and the hotel overall. We found the hotel has a very welcoming and accommodating staff. An important consideration for our travel needs is the hotel is not in the middle of 'tourist central'. From the hotel, it is an easy walk to Eataly on the second floor of the central market, which we believe is a must-do thing in Florence. Otherwise, all the major tourist sights are all a short walk from the hotel. If you want or need to spend time at the hotel, there are several very nice quiet sitting areas.
The boutique hotel environment with beautiful old fashioned furniture and wall decorations. It is a romantic and cosy hotel. The rooms where also very nice and comfortable. The breakfast was ok.
Walls are thin so you can hear other hotel members walking by in the hall way. Other than that it was perfect.
Location was perfect. The hotel was clean, comfortable, quirky interiors. Breakfast was vast and delicious. Especially the home made cakes.
no staff at the bar in the evening-self service, not really what you would expect in 4star hotel.....
Rooms where clean , beds excellent
Since AC did not work very well, the hotel could be a bit noisy in the morning with the windows open, as well as the smell of cigarette smoke coming in your window,
Rooms are very clean and well maintained, staff was friendly and knowledgeable, breakfast was good, good location.
rooms at the street side are very noisy; air conditioning is working loudly;
great location, very close to all most historical attractions; beautiful building; wonderfully designed inside; charming roof tarrass
tiny ugly bathroom. Only after changing the room it was ok.
Chambermaid didn't change our sheets for 4 nights. Management did offer to change right away when I complained and said policy is every other day. Other small little housekeeping problem. That's why I pull down on cleanliness, and also staff.
Very helpful front desk staff. Cozy sitting room for afternoon tea and all day supply of juices and fruits in reception area are nice touches.
Rooms and bathrooms are quite small (not atypical of European cities). Concierge/receptionist was brusque and not very engaging.
Location was great, close to the Accademia Gallery and the Duomo but just outside the hustle and bustle itself. Rooms are clean and well insulated against outside noise. Breakfast was good with several options to choose from. Lounge is nicely decorated.
It's a little on the shabby side of shabby chic (particularly the bathroom), not a super-central location, and some of the staff at reception were a bit off-hand (not the Scottish lady who was very obliging). They were very busy though.
Honesty bar at street level and roof terrace, together with an amazing array of spaces to meet and relax gave the hotel a 'club' feel. Staff at the breakfast bar could not have been nicer.
There were steps (5?) to get to the elevator.
This was a delightful hotel with amenities beyond the toiletries and Wi-Fi. In particular, the public areas within the hotel were charming and inviting with books throughout, a grand piano in one room, and honesty bars, too. We have memories of relaxing on the rooftop terrace and chatting with other guests of the hotel. The room where we had breakfast was comfortable and our cappuccinos were served to us at our table.
Room was much smaller than advertised. Appreciate that not all rooms are the same as it was formerly a old convent but that fact should be reflected in the price quoted for the room. Not value for money thus. Also it is quite a distance n walk to the main attractions aside from Accademia.
Have nice breakfast area and roof garden. Convenient for public transport and near railway station n internet service was good.
The trusthful bar and roofbar. The design
A little bit noisy when next door open/close.
The hotel is very classical, the decoration is very warm. AndI love the balcony on the roof. The staffs are very nice and helpful. The room is tidy and clean.
Although the location is great, the inner rooms don't have outer windows and so you cannot let fresh air in because there is some vents in the courtyard which excrete a terrible odour.
Great location only 10 minutes walk from the markets and duomo cathedral, also there are complimentary bikes to use to ride around the city center.
Put away dishes from the roof terrace and make better cleaning there.
The staff, the roof terrace, breakfast makes the hotel unique.
Air con units were dated and not very efficient. Too noisy to run all night and made the room stuffy but with the window open for fresh air you risk being bitten alive by mozzies and kept awake by noisy people passing and early morning deliveries. Breakfast buffet was lovely but the (four) breakfast staff on duty didn't seem able to keep the food, glasses, etc. flowing. Also had to share our cutlery between us or take some left on other tables as staff didn't re set previously used places/tables or notice you didn't have any. Asked for hot milk flask by the coffee urn to be refilled, it didn't happens gave up waiting to get a second coffee.
Within 5 mins walk to the busy tourist areas. Lots of bits of art everywhere. Lovely roof terrace to get some fresh air.
The rooms were small especially the bathrooms.
The staff was very friendly and attentive.
Had to be early to breakfast to be sure of a decent selection.
Well-decorated room, with plenty of space for the three of us. Great location, just 5 minutes walk to the market square and on to the cathedral.
It was noisy at night but you expect this with staying in a city.
The man on reception when we first arrived was lovely and the staff waiting at breakfast were happy to help.the rooms were clean and i really enjoyed my stay.great selection at breakfast and tasty food.
Rooms rather quirky- some rooms had tiny bathroom; sometimes an awful smell probably from the drains or AC (which does not work well).
Location, staff tried their best to be helpful, ok breakfast
The bathroom sink in 318 looked really unclean
The staff was very helpful and kind.
Some rooms were small and dated
Had a lovely time, staff were welcoming and kind. Went out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Juice served all day was brilliant
