We immediately started on the wrong foot, as my sister and I arrived at the Hotel at around 10pm (tired and all from the flight etc), the receptionist, Pasquale, welcomed us by saying there has been a problem and a mistake, and for the first night we had to sleep in the apartments close by, which are poorly furnished, dirty and seemed to me, unsafe. The mistake in my opinion was an overbooking of our room to other clients! We did email and call a week before to confirm our stay and that everyone was ok, though, it wasn't and our first night was uncomfortable and we were angry sleeping somewhere we didn't want to!
The next day we settled in our room, so we spent 1 night in a horrible room and the other 5 nights in this hotel, which is quite nice, clean and central in Bari; close to the old city and also to the train station. Something which upset us was, that we were only given a crossant and coffee as a compensation to the previous mistakes and the receptionist didn't want to change the agreed price, even though the first night was not spent in this hotel! This is not customer service!
Overall, the staff was not really helpful..we had to pay cash as there was no visa machine available and there were times when the staff was rude. It's a pity to such a sweet, central and comfortable hotel!
