Nothing to dislike
Stylish rooms, excellent service, spectacular breakfast room with painted ceilings
Location - central, convenient, and yet in the "real city" of daily life; spacious rooms and some grand decor; friendly helpful staff; good breakfast; rooftop restaurant with wonderful views but cuisine less than wonderful.
The quality of the breakfast room coffee
It is in the heart of the old city
restaurant terrace bartender
Good location. Room was very spacious, clean and newly done up.
Quite a bit of noise from the street outside.
Style. Location. Comfort. Very good value. Good and reasonably priced restaurant too.
Staff a little formal- but perfectly civil and this probably goes with this type of hotel. Slow lift! But this isn't a serious issue!
It is a palace or was. Very helpful staff. Excellent and reasonably priced roof top dining room. Very extensive breakfast.
All the staff were very professional and friendly without being intrusive , nothing was to much trouble. The food was superb and the setting was beautiful especially in the evening with the sun setting over the varied rooftops and the mountains in the background.
Location and friendly, helpful desk staff. Amazing breakfasts and excellent rooftop restaurant at reasonable prices.
Unsecured wifi caused problems.
Love that it's centrally located and you can walk to all areas of Pelermo from this hotel. I also loved that they offer parking. It's a little difficult when you first arrive because you have to pull off to the side of the one way street, run into reception and they will call the bellman to come out and park your car since its down a very narrow street right next to the hotel. The rooftop restaurant/bar/terrace is fantastic! We came back late from a street food tour and stopped at the bar for a nightcap and the bartender was still so friendly and welcoming and we never felt rushed.
We were only in town for a little over 24hrs so I didn't have any time to find negatives but I don't think I would have if we stayed longer.
You certainly feel you are staying somewhere special although it is a bit faded grandeur in places. The room we had was very comfortable and had all the right facilities. Breakfast (not included) was excellent buffet and good value as were the bar and rooftop restaurant
Parking is a bit of a nightmare but you are in a crowded city. We had two strange experiences in the bar and restaurant where the food was different from what ordered. We couldn't be bothered to make a fuss : It was delicious anyway!
Room was clean and comfortable. We had a balcony /terrace with plenty of space, comfy chairs and screening plants-such a good extra on a 5 night stay.
We would have preferred a bath to a shower but the shower was spacious and having our own terrace was such a bonus.
This was an excellent hotel to stay in. The staff was very friendly and efficient, the room was beautiful and the location was excellent.
Loved the beautiful interior design, artwork and architecture. Nice Breakie too ;)
Tremendous breakfast; quiet room; water at reception when you come in after a hot day's traipsing about town.
Patchy WiFi: it could take up to 15 minutes to get connected. The staff were professional, but they could have been more humanly friendly. The bathroom was poorly designed: the toilet roll dispenser was practically behind the toilet seat; the shower faced out from the middle of the wall over the bath, making one anxious about falling backwards out of the bath. There was no extractor fan in the bathroom, and no lock or key to its door.
Central position, Interesting interior in an old Palace.
If you like the combination of east-block time service attitudes with arrogant italian old grand hotel client relations, then you will like it as a trip to the past. It is an art to serve such bad coffee in Italy, and a breakfast with a big variety but none of them with any taste. The room had an air-con which only worked at one level and the minimum adjustable temperature was 23°C. Room was modern maybe 30-40 years ago. In short: good position in town, but the rest you will get anywhere at the train station, for less.
Breakfast was really good. The variety and quality of the food served at breakfast was great.
The hotel looks just tired. It looks like it was a grand hotel some time ago but not anymore. We did not like our room. The bath was discoloured. There were no shower curtains. However, we noticed holes suggesting the presence of shower curtains in the past. They did not bother to put them in again. It just looks seedy. We definitely expected more for what we paid and the photos we saw.
Great location for walks in central Palermo. It's old but cheap. Good value for money.
This is a hotel; with real presence, excellent staff and a fabulous breakfast in lovely period rooms. Our room was delightful - spacious, comfortable and well-appointed - with the considerable bonus of a small secluded terrace. As our room was in the central well of the building it was very quiet with no discernible traffic noise - quite an achievement in Palermo! The location is perfect for exploring the historic centre of Palermo on foot.
The music in the rooftop restaurant is supposed to stop by midnight - if it does then that's fine, but one night it was still audible at 00:45, which is too late.
Perfect location, 2minytes away from teatro massimo, couldn't ask for a better spot. Very beautiful hotel, antique and spotless. Feels very authentic
Balcony was about a foot in depth! Book the superior room for a decent one!
Amazing interiors, furnishings and chandeliers in the public spaces and corridors. Good, well stocked breakfast, Free wifi for guests. Helpful Staff
The bathrooms and sparsely decorated bedrooms didn't math up with the grandeur of the rest of the hotel. My bathroom was old, sliding shower door barely opened because of rust.
Excellent location, right in the heart of the city; very efficient and attentive staff; excellent breakfast; outstanding value for money.
Decor, although very grand and palatial, is a little tired.
- Staff were super friendly and helpful. The hotel had a lot of character and the lobby areas were beautiful. The food in the upstairs restaurant was super tasty and the staff very efficient, the views were also pretty spectacular.
- The wifi dropped out sometimes, but not really too much of a worry,
