Hotel CentraleVia Ponchielli, 1, 34100 Trieste (Show map) Good, Score from 190 reviews“The location was fabulous. Very central and convenient to all of Trieste.”
Amanda,
Hornsby Nsw
Located in the pedestrian area of central Trieste, the hotel offers tranquil surroundings within easy reach of the main attractions and public transportation. The hotel is ideally positioned just 330 yards from the dock, central train station, and bus station. In addition to this you can also enjoy easy access to the historic sights of Trieste, including: the Castle of Miramare; Castle of San Giusto; and numerous archeological remains and churches, in addition to caves and a Roman theater. In the evenings you can enjoy a meal in the hotel’s restaurant, serving typical regional cuisine. Hotel Rooms: 24

-Room was very nice, the position was awesome -Breakfast room was cold as balls, and breakfast quality was very poor (nothing was fresh) -The wifi is not very fast, and the staff didn't explain for how long you can use it (they gave me an userid and a password, but they stopped working the day after)

I really loved the location! It was amazing. You just ran down the stairs and you were right in the centre. It is a small hotel, that is located on the first floor of a building, there are another offices in the building. Breakfast was good, there was american coffe, croiasants, butter, milk, jam, cheese and ham. The hotel room is veery small, the room was maybe 3sq meters big, there was place only for the bed and for wardrobe. Bathroom was small as well, but it was clean. The only thing that surprised us was, that there was shower, bidet and sink in the bathroom, but the toilette was at the corridor, so you had to share it with other travelers.

As an animal friend, a turtle in a small terrarium in a breakfast room was not a nice thing to see.

The location was fabulous. Very central and convenient to all of Trieste. First impressions was we were in the wrong place, the entrance looks like a war zone. There was an air conditioner installed but we were told they did not work. The first night there was a party on the street till 02:30am, and as it was over 30 degrees we were forced to have the windows open. I understand the site is being upgraded but I expected the A/C to be working. The manager did supply us with a fan for the second night after I spoke with him.

The hotel was very central, clean, comfy bed. It should not say breakfast, as it was a laugh one chunk of bread with assorted jam and butter. Biscuit, packet of french toast, the only thing you could say tea or coffee.

all the hotel staffs are very friendly, free WIFI service available which is not usual in many Italian cities; the perfect location--in the heart of the city center, with merely less than 15 mins walk to the train station.

only the location Nobody spoke English except of the owner who was never there. Dogs were walking in the corridors and we even had to wait for an hour to check in because nobody was their. During the night we needed to ring the bell to enter the hotel and the receptionist was sleeping and we had to wait outside for at least an hour! The door of the bathroom was transparent and wasn't closing.

The hotel is in a good location right on the 'Grand Canal' of Trieste which is within walking distance of the train station and all the sites. The room was comfortable. I was traveling alone but I will stay here when I return with my wife on my next visit. As other reviewers mentioned, the breakfast consists of weak coffee and bread. You pay extra for a cappucino and/or croisant. No internet access.

It is a very central hotel, ideal for staying in the city and going around. Very near the centre of the city and also near the sea. Very nice place and breakfast for the price you pay. The only disadvantage of the hotel is that the toilet of the economic room is out of the room.

Good location. The ceiling fan in our room was inadequate for the heat of a hot summer. The walls of the hotel also seem rather thin.

The staff were very welcoming, considering that we arrived a bit early and were tired from the a train ride in, they got our room cleaned first in order to allow us to catch up on sleep. Location is very central - as per the hotel's name!
