Location. Breakfast, although slightly less choice of cold meats than last year. View of street from balcony in bedroom although noise from traffic during night frequently woke us up.
Uncomfortable mattresses...could feel springs. Unable to get wifi in bedrooms.
Breakfast - There is a huge market around the corner from this hotel, selling amazing fresh produce, fruit a plenty!! - they serve up tinned fruit! Such a shame!
Hotel De Centro is close to the railway station, bus depot and walking distance to sights around Palermo. We had the spacious corner room with two small balconies, queen bed and ensuite. Double glazing and its location at the rear of the building, this room was comfortable and quiet. Great breakfasts, with a few additions to the 'Sicilian breakfast' of coffee and delicious pastries. Friendly but not overly familiar staff, very helpful with local advice. Good value.
The only gripe was the internet which didn't work too well in the room and kept dropping out so you have to constantly log in.
Breakfast was good and the location was perfect. Very close to the train station.
Friendly staff , clean room and good breakfast ,would always book this hotel.
The location was close enough to be able to walk to all the city sights, while the proximity to the station meant getting to the next destination was easy.
It's decor is a little tired, but if I had a choice between them keeping the same decor and the same price - or upgrading the decor and increasing the price I'd stick with the current situation.
Close to station. Some good restaurants close by.
good hotel, comfortable lication, fine room
Terrible Internet in rooms
Within walking distance to train & bus station. It was fairly central to all tourist and shopping areas.
There were no signposts at station for hotel so can be quite confusing as to what street to take off busy square especially when arriving late at night .
The position of the hotel is very good, near the railway station.
The absence of a safety box in the room.
good bed,cleaning was very good
The noise from the street was bad,had requested a quite room but didnt get it
Staff Communication, Shabby rooms
the hotel was nice and clean, and the staff were very friendly and willing to help in any way they could.
we had a front room and there was a lot of noise from the street, also there was no kettle in the room to make a coffee.
The staff were excellent, the location too. Breakfast was good & great coffee. The hotel was secure & very clean and the room was serviced every day. It is not 5 star but pretty good for the price. As it's name states it is central to trains & busses and many of the local attractions.
The bed was hard and the shower was difficult to use as it was so small it was extremely hard to turn around in it. I am not a big person however I needed to enter the shower sideways. Our room was upstairs which would be difficult for someone who struggles physically.
Bed comfort was good. Our room was large and relatively quiet.
Air conditioning seemed to battle or was set too high.
Staff was amazing! Hotel was clean ! Location was close to train. Had a nice stay. We felt very safe in this hotel.
Internet was not good in the rooms. Had to sign in everytime. Only worked in the area outside the rooms.
Position of Hotel, breakfast, bathroom
no english speaking staff, musty bedroom
Perfect location, only 3min walking from the central train station. Easy to find. Free wifi. Reasonably clean room. Free app to download with map and all the indications, including touristic informations. Beautiful old palace. Very friendly and helpful receptionist. Lovely decorated bar/breakfast room, I particularly enjoyed having breakfast on the little balcony above Via Roma in authentic Italian style. I could have preferred tho more continental food's choice since I don't like sweet pastries as breakfast. I heard the hotel offers some walking tour of the city with street food tasting, I m sorry I stayed only for the night but I ll definitely try some art/food tour next time
I will be very pleased to come back to this hotel on my business trips with some due change: I don't like to see toilet brushes in a hotel room, it's not hygienic and cleaning should be prerogative of the house kipper. The sheet shouldn't be on the bare mattress but it must be an overlay between the sheet and the mattress, same thing has to be said about the pillow. The air condition vents should be regularly cleaned
It was very close to train station - you can see it positively, but negatively as well. Nice and helpful people working there, room was very clean, small balcony. Breakfast was nice, hotel has some agreements with local restaurants, really worth visiting them and you can get 20% discount as well. I think great place for very short stay.
Very noisy street, if your windows will face the street and you sleep sensitively – no chance to have a nice rest. I would not recommend this hotel for long stay. Breakfast was good, but no fruits/vegetables, so after couple of days you can’t even look at the all the sweets.
Staff was helpful Room was nice and quiet Good location Good breakfast
Bed was not too comfortable
Not much, except the location convenient to visit the city center without a car.
5 beds in a room big enough for a double-bed only. Air-conditionning could not be adjusted. The clerk was not friendly, he tried to scare us in recommending to park our rental car in a private parking which we never found! He also sent us to a restaurant which was not so attractive... The hotel is in an appartment building in which there is a B&B as well, and there are other hotels and B&B in the same area. So other options are available.
The hotel was lovely and old Italian style and the staff were helpful. Close to the station which was very handy for us as we came by bus and left my train.
I don't think it's the best place to stay esp on a weekend. Everything is closed and it's very quiet at night. Felt a bit safer closer to the more touristic area.
The hotel is well located near the station and the sights. The rooms are large with really high ceilings, very sparsely decorated but with good beds. The breakfast room is a bit squashed but there is a good choice.
There were no glasses in the room so difficult to gave water by the bed.
location and money value
Beautiful building of the hotel is located really close to the central station. It's strange to see that few hotels are in one place, but it's clear where is exactly Hotel del Centro. Clean rooms with nice interior make staying here very pleasant.
Staff! Absolutely unfriendly and non-smiling, doesn't able to help anywhere, on the desk or in the dining area. 'Internet point - just doesn't work', 'Second coffee... in your old cup' - all these dialogs with no please or excuse. Old door with old keys are king of chic of course, but look and keys itself doesn't look reliable.
