everything.... especially the food was lovely
a little bit cold during night
Such wonderful welcoming people in an idyllic location. Fantastic accommodation and food as well. We hope to come back very soon.
A church built in 1778, bombed in WW2, and now a hotel, well that's what you get and its awesome. The staff is outstanding, the facilities are immaculate and the way they have incorporated old and new is impressive. Loved the place will book a longer holiday there.
Hard to find in the dark but the staff will meet you at the bottom of the hill and help you drive up.
The place is beautiful, great view, everything green and clear. Gabriele and Irene and their family were amazing - kind and helpful and doing their best to keep us happy - many thanks !! The place is located within a reasonable travel distance from many places - we took day trips to Venice, Florence, Lucca and Pisa, and Bologna. We used another day to just hang out in the area and enjoyed every day of our stay. Of course, it is not too dificult in Italy on vacation...
Not easy to find, especially when you arrive late at night.
the hospitality of gabriele and his family is extraordinary!
Everything was perfect! Historical appeal, great service, run by a really nice family. Great view, nice place to go hiking, confortable with very efficient internet connection. Strongly recommended.
My husband and I had the most lovely time at Chiesa Di Ignano! Gabrielle and his family were very hospitable, and provided an overall relaxing retreat. The home cooked Italian food was absolutely amazing and we couldn't have asked for a better menu with delicious dishes and wine all coming from the local region. I would highly recommend Chiesa Di Ignano to our friends and family. Thank you!
views, clean, unique accomodation
Comfortable and cosy accommodation in a romantic carefully restored historical place, kind and attentive owner and his family, everything was clean, breakfast was excellent in a beautiful dining room. Place is situated on the top of a little hill in a nice garden with roses and lavender, calm, full of harmony, kindness and positive energy.
Gabriele and Irene (the hosts) are what makes the place stand out from other agritourismo stays we've had. They are very warm, friendly and helpful people. The breakfasts were superb. The atmosphere and environment were special - it's a peaceful place to get away from it all (but you can reach cities reasonably easily). The small pool had stunning views. The two dogs were friendly and good fun to play with. The cat was quite aloof in comparison, but that's cats for you!
Dinner was excellent Owner was helpful and polite Views Fresh air
The place is located near several towns--Bologna, Parma, Modena, so you could use it as a staging area to visit. However, the place is on a hill near a delightful small town and there are lots of places to walk and go on longer hikes. Access is not difficult and is in fact fun. The rooms are part of a restored church that was bombed out during the war--it is restored beautifully and our rooms were large, stone, and well appointed. We had a full kitchen with everything. On the other hand....dinner was so good, with local foods and wines, in the end we thought it was the best tasting and most enjoyable meal we had during our 2 week stay. The host is very helpful, and full of information about the history of the region and the church. I want to go back and stay longer.
everything - the building, its renovation, scenery, the very friendly owners
We were happy with everything. Portions for secondo piatto (for dinner, optional) could have been a little more generous.
Everything, but the best was the moments we shared with our hosts. They are wonderful people.
Excellent hospitality and very friendly people. They are always ready to help you during your stay and the location is wonderful.
This was the first night of our holiday and we couldn't have chosen a better place. There were nine of us travelling together and the small self contained apartments were perfect for our stay. Gabrielle and his wife were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. Each apartment is finished to a very high standard and has a real sense of luxury about it. There is a lovely gazebo in the garden that we lay out on drinking some of the delicious local wines and admiring the stunning view. We also had a 5 course dinner at the restaurant which was everything you'd hope for (and more) from an Italian meal. It really was excellent. The breakfast was also deemed to be in everyone's Top 5 breakfasts of all time! Unfortunately we didn't make it into the pool as the weather wasn't great but it looked very inviting. All in all we were very sad to leave as we could have happily spent the whole of our week there. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough!
We stayed here for 11 nights and had an excellent time. Thanks to the proximity of the highway it was very easy for us to travel around and visit Florence, Bologna, Modena, etc. Yet as the location of the chiesa is within a national park we also made long hikes and enjoyed relaxing at the pool and beautiful garden. The food is excellent (Gabriele's wife Irena is a very good cook), and the breakfast was superb with fresh fruit and local products. Last but not least, Gabriele and his family are very warm and friendly and made us feel very welcome. We really enjoyed our time here and definitely recommend it!
Don't trust your gps when you drive to the chiesa the first time; it will probably try to make you cross an old, very narrow bridge (ours did, and also other guests had the same). For an easier route: go back in the direction of Sasso Marconi for a few 100 meters, where you see a road going down on your left hand side. There is a new, wider bridge there.
great location, style, facilities, breakfast, staff
swimming pool too cold in mid-summer. needs a solar heater??
Very nice place, the view and the pool are super nice and the owner very friendly.
Gabriel and Irena were excellent and charming hosts. They gave meticulous directions to find their converted church for our one night stay and provided dinner which was delicious, authentic and locally sourced. The hiking trails up into the beautiful countryside will have to wait for our next visit.
The owners are really friendly and very helpfull, food is great, views are very nice. Just the perfect place to have holidays.
Hospitality was excellent. Breakfast very nice Perfect accommodation Very nice views and surrounding Attention to detail
We were not able to make coffee in the apartment
Friendly owners Beautiful place Awesome breakfest
- The atmosphere of the place is amazing - Staff is really friendly and helpful - Room are very good, big, comfortable and really nice atmosphere - Light dinner
- The double bed was actually two single beds - If you are starving the light dinner offered from the restaurant is not enough, but good if you are ok
