Hotel Anfiteatro Flavio is in a 19th-century building in Via dei Serpenti, the most popular of Rome's Monti district. In about 10 minutes you can walk to both the Colosseum and the Roman Forum.

Score from 280 reviews Excellent
comfort, staff, breakfast, close to the centre, clean room and bathroom, silencing window.
no good wifi.
Warm, friendly staff, very welcoming and accommodating. Lovely facilities representing excellent value for money. Excellent for places to eat nearby. Decor was superb.
Nice modern B&B. Close to termini and colosseum
Air conditioning didn't work properly so room was hot. Overhead shower didn't work so had to use the hand piece
Very clean room. Value for money regarding that the hotel was booked in high season
Hotel was far enough from the center. Breakfast was croissant and coffee in a nearby cafe.
excellent quality of the room and good disponibility of the host
Internet was fine. the room was clean and well-designed!
The breakfast was awful! (just coffee, one cake and one glass of orange juice). The location was near a hospital so during the night we heard ambulance alarms. The hotel situated on junction so there was so noisy place! 17-20 minute walking distance to Colosseum and more than 30 minutes walking to spanish steps!
Very nice hotel, with beautiful spacious rooms
Bruno, the owner was very friendly and available! The room was big, clean and quite!I will definitely return next time!
It's very good location, 10 minutes from Colloseum. 5 minutes from Metro Station. It's great place for young people and more I think. Near Chroma Dyo was a great restourant and The room was very big. It's was cleaned every day. Badroom was very romantic. The staff was helpful, thank you!!!
All was very well
Everything... The staff qas great and very gentle. Always looking to meet your needs. The location is just two subway stations away from the train station and 10 minutes away walking from the Colloseo.
Great place! It`s the one-floor-hotel in old Rome house. You fill like living as a local inhabitant :). Beautiful SanJovaniinLiterano church is in front of you windows. Freindly staff, cosy atmosphere. Every day cleaning. During 6 days of our stay 5 hotel rooms was full, but we haven`t heard any noises, and saw neighbours only once. Modern vivid design. Balcony to enjoy the view. 5 min walking to metro, 100 min to Coloseo. Breakfast/dinner places are downstairs and 1 min around.
It`s not about the hotel it self, but be carefull - emergency ambulance will awake you at night if you leave the window opened. So, use aircon.
Location. Nice room. Friendly reception. Teapot in the room.
Bath set was not updated. Cups were taken away from the room. Strange sediment inside of tea pot. Breakfast was very very poor. Constant strange smell in the corridor.
We stayed in Chroma Dyo for one night after a typical cheep hostel, so we were very impressed. It was a small place, very clean and stylish. We had own bathroom with towels, shampoo, gel, hairdryer, and, if i'm not mistaken, even a warm floor. In our room was also a kettle with two cups, teapots and some candys, so we could drink tea in the evening. Oh, and I forgot about the location, it's about 10 minutes walking to Coliseum. One of the nicest place I've visited, everything is good!
The hotel is in a very convenient position, good to visit all city's main attractions. The room was comfortable, very relaxing the chromatic shower. The place is quiet, we could sleep very well. Wifi worked perfectly. The staff was nice and helpful.
Our room was clean, but there was a strange smell at the entrance of the hotel and in the corridor.
Brand new room with large window, very clean. Quite price valued. Located closed to Colosseum.
Difficult to find the hotel. Inconvenient to switch with 4 keys to open the different doors.
Good value for money, place was in a good location. The guy at reception was very helpful and friendly. The room was very new, and I would recommend to anyone .
The street in which hotel is located a bit noisy, but did not bother me too much.
Very funky designed rooms
Wish I had read the description better when booking this as didn't realise that it actually wasn't a hotel with meal facilities etc
lighting, Noise, Number of doors to get into the place
Great hotel just minutes from the main attractions of Rome. Plus, Bruno the manager was really helpful and accommodating. I'll be coming back next time I visit!
The location of the hotel is perfect. It is in the heart of Rome. The serous ding area is quite and has all facilities. Metro stop is around 10 minutes walking. You can also walk to Termini station around 25 minutes walk in a nice area.
It is not a hotel. It is a room in a five room apartment in a resident building. So, you feel that you sleep at an apartment with people you do not know. Also, the owner is usually available 9:00 am to 2:00 pm and if you need him, you can call him on his cell phone. In brief I did not like staying in an apartment. Breakfast is served in a bar adjacent to the facility. It consists of one croissant, one powder juice, and a coffee.
Located a little outside of a city center, but no problem to access city by foot and/or Tram, Bus, Metro. the room is well cleaned and modern. Parking area is located 600m away from hotel.
traffic noise from outside is a little bit noticeable. Receptionist is not always on site, especially when we want to check out a hotel in a morning, no one there and we had to wait receptionist. this was not convenient.
Clean and comfortable place to stay - The bed was a real double (queen size at least) rather than 2 singles pushed together which made a nice change! Fantastic shower and bathroom. The location for us was perfect as we were back in Rome for a few days to visit the colleusem and this hotel is a short walk from there. Close to the metro too so easy access to Roma termini and other parts of the city. Via merulana we found had some great food options - especially if you walk a few blocks. Keep walking on merulana and Look for the deli a few blocks away - try the fresh roast pork with crackling on a ciabatta! Delicious!
Only drawback was our window was directly on via merulana and the traffic can be very load. Drivers constantly beeping their horns as if beeping will make the cars move even when there is nowhere to go!
The owner Bruno was really nice. Breakfaast in the nearby cafe was nice, the pastries were out of this world!
The room was very very small, and it was dark.
The rooms are really comfortable and modern, it was more than our expectations. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Rome as it is located in one of the best touristic locations in Rome.
Location is really great, close to the Colosseum and many more famous places. Design of the apartment.
The breakfast was quite poor served in the cafe nearby (coffee, croissant and a glass of juice). Quite dark in the room. Uncomfortable double bed of two quite often separating mattresses. The phone number listed in the confirmation was a fixed line. Although it was written to be able 24/7, we were unable to contact them all the day. As our arrival time changed, we were forced to wait for almost 2 hours for someone to let us in.
