EXE Domus Aurea is next to ancient Roman ruins and the Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli. A generous American buffet is served daily on the roof terrace overlooking the Terme di Diocleziano.
Score from 720 reviews Very good

Welcoming staff, spacious room with all the facilities I needed, breakfast delivered to my door, lift in the building to save climbing five floors of stairs
Wifi was temperamental at times
I liked the designed room and the location just near the Vatican. Very good overall and also good price. Could suit familys, couples in every age.
Very spacious, and a quirky room, with lovely sunny and floral balcony, and some views of the Vatican wall. Location was literally two minutes walk from the Vatican museum entrance, so brilliant for making the most of getting to St Peters early and getting to the museum. Easy tube ride into the centre for the other sites. Great room for a romantic getaway. Basic but decent breakfast offered with coffee, juice and pastry over the road included in price Owner was very friendly and helpful, we arrived late about 11.30pm and were a little concerned we might be too late and miss check in. We rung booking.com who very helpful and contacted the owner on our behalf. He was very accommodating and waited until late to meet us, which was much appreciated Overall we had an excellent stay and I would thoroughly recommend staying here
Only slight annoyance was having to pay hotel tax of 21 euros on top of hotel price, but as I understand this is common in Rome. This hotel was also good value compared to some of the other very average/overly priced hotels I saw on my searches
Excellent location near the metro, and good value for money b&b. Daniele and the other guy that works there are very helpful and made us feel like home! We had the red room with the balcony which was the best!! Very clean room and wifi was working perfectly! I would recommend chroma tria and surely would prefer it again!
Nothing! If I had to say something, only that the breakfast was the same every day. Although not a big problem for us! And it is a little bit tricky to find the B&B on your first visit but ask someone on the road and will definitely help you!
The host (Daniel) was very friendly & helpful. The place is very well located and from the balcony (when standing) or the roof window you overlooking the Vatican walls & museum. Free Wi-fi with strength signal. We also enjoyed the possibility of the balcony (apartment) although it was between the walls so you have to stand up to see something, but still it was nice to have breakfast or glass of wine there :-)
The disposition of the WC is poorly solve as there is a bidet situated just opposite&so close to the toilet that you are not able to use the toilet normally but have to sit on a side of it to be able to fit your legs there. Very uncomfortable & illogical! (Talking about the "ruby room" - apartment ) Cleaning in the room could be improve - the room was a bit dusty and we found old plastic bottle in the cabinet. The entrance/hallway of the pension is very poky and not much "welcoming" and our room itself when we entered was very stuffy. We were expecting higher standard for the price we paid.
we had biggest room, it was nice, aircondition works well, stuff is very friendfull, Vatikan is over road. Price-Quality is good.
metro station is quite far, breakfast is - cup of coffee, glass of juice and 1 pc of some croissant. Nearest street is not very romantic, but ok.
Close to the Vatican.
It's three-room apartment converted to a hotel. Surly staff. Dirty and hot. Often broken wifi. This "hotel" doesn't deserve such a good reputation.
The rooms are located very close to the Vatican, which is very convenient if you want to go earlier to avoid the long queues. The metro station is also at walking distance if you want to go to the city center. Also walking is not a problem if you don't mind a 25min walk. Daniele was very helpful and made us feel welcome at his apartments.
good location. close to Vatican museum. 10 min walk to metro station. air conditioner works well. it is really necessary for this top-floor hotel. free tea in the room. in general it is a comfort place for tourists
the coffee machine was full of empty coffee capsules when we used it for the first time, maybe the staff forgot to throw them away... do not forget to ask for the receipt after paying the city tax
Good location very close to Vatican Museum and subway station. Strong Wi-Fi all the time.
A simple and repetitive breakfast served at Aldo restaurant. Also, the bathroom sink was usually clogged.
Great location, cute setup and helpful staff.
Very special place ...
In general it's a really really nice place to stay! We are really happy with the staying! The internet didn't work for us, but I'm sure it will be fixed soon! Very helpful stuff!
Just next to the entrance of Vatican museums, can easily be reached by subway. Rooms are nice and spacious. Our room seemed newly renovated.
Location, value, friendly.
Parking not on site as stated. Poor shower. Restricted reception hours meant lots of communication to find out when I'd be arriving- when driving alone in heavy traffic this is inconvenient.
The location was very ideal as it is near the Vatican and just a 5 minute walk from the entrance of the vatican museum. The room was very cozy. The service was excellent and the staff was very helpful. He even helped us find our way around Paris by pointing the nearest roads on the map he gave us. My brother and I requested for 2 single beds. Unfortunately they had the beds arranged for a couple. The good thing though is they re-arranged the room for us in a matter of 5 minutes. Great wifi connection too! :) 2 thumbs up and highly recommended!
Great location literally around the corner from the Vatican. A much cheaper area to stay for food and drink compared to city center. Would visit Rome again and Chroma Tria.
Position and comfort. The room was very clean
Good location. Daniele was excellent host, he did everything, beds, cleaning, breakfast !! Didn't see any other staff at all.
Ceiling beams a bit low in our room, for a tall person
Daniele is an excellent host.
Bathroom is a little small.
We stayed 4 nights. Had a lovely service from Daniele, who was making and delivering breakfast to the room, always with the smile. Apartments are in good condition. Location is just next door to Vatican museum, 5 minutes to Metro line A, and generally Rome center is not big, you can get easily to any main location by foot. Was a nice surprise of little bottle of sparkling on our leaving day. Definitely will use Chroma apartments in future.
Nothing much, just maybe lack of english channels. Found few italians who had option of english. But channels like bbc, sky or discovery is must i believe
Located opposite entrance to Vatican Museum. Very clean with modern décor.Very friendly and helpful staff x 2. Small rooms with shower rooms but comfortable. Breakfast in room.
Not really a hotel as we know one. Apartment on 5th attic floor divided into 3 seperate rooms with shower room in each. "Breakfast Downstairs" involved a march down two streets to a café. Not ideal. Low beams in some rooms.
Gianfranco, the owner & Nollin, who works there are very friendly and nice people. Nollin is very helpful and his service is excellent!
Location to Vatican and metro
Noise street side limited morning beverage
