This turned out to be a nice little place to stay. It's location, in a little piazza, just off one of the main streets, Via Calzaiuoli, makes it a handy spot for all the sites. The breakfast was the usual fare, and the large fridge in the breakfast room was available for use. The manager was pleasant and fortunately heeded my request for a room change, as the room I booked was an interior room - the Blue Room - on the 1st floor. While it had access to a kitchenette used by another guest, the actual breakfast room was on the 2nd floor where the office and other guest rooms were located. The Blue Room also has a private external bathroom, which was quite clean. The room itself was a good size, but it was dark and dank; the window looked into a narrow dark courtyard. There was a terrible odour present - something between spoiled food and sewer water - which I advised the manager after the 1st night. The cleaner attended to freshen up the room, but the odour remained. I advised the manager after the 2nd night of my 4-night stay, and after checking with the owner, offered me the only available room. I could not have stayed where I was! The 2nd room - I cannot remember the name - was spacious and modern. There was some street noise which may be a problem during high season, but in this situation, I will take noise over smell! Overall, this was a place that does give you a taste of living like a local - there's a very popular panino stand nearby, a small grocery market, a good bakery...all the stuff!
As noted, I did not like the room that I booked. The manager said they never ever had a problem with any kind of odour in the room, then went on to say she notice a water stain in the ceiling. There clearly was an issue with something, possibly the water pipes from an adjoining apartment. The room was dark, and the auto lights in the hallways were not reliable. As well, I did not like that the room was completely separate from the breakfast room. Lastly, I didn't completely mind that there was not life, though I did not enjoy having to carry my luggage up the steps.
The bathroom was far too small. The website advertised a lift but there was none.
Located in the city centre...in the midst of everything and near all prominent places to see..just around 200mts from uffizi Also the host Bruno was very nice and helpful.had a great stay at the place..surely recommended
The location was close to the center without being noisy. The staff was excellent during our check in and check out process. No complaints, I would stay here again.
Nothing to comment.
- DOMENICO AND VALERIA WERE VERY HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY. THEY PROVIDED A VERY PERSONALIZED SERVICE.
The best aspect of this hotel is the location, you are right in the centre of florence. The staff are friendly and helpful and deal with problems very effectively Breakfast is nice, especially sitting around the one table - there is a nice communal feel and guests get to know one another.
sound proofing in building could be better, in the windows, doors and walls.
Central location, convenient for exploring the city. Friendly, efficient staff. Good modern facilities throughout.
No lift to second floor venue (especially for luggage). Unimpressive shared entrance hall, but once inside very impressed.
The location is perfect, the included breakfast is good. The lady who runs it is very nice. Kitchenette with Fridge and microwave are available for use.
Keys/doors are a bit cumbersome. Layout is a bit confusing. Breakfast is at a communal dining table.
Centrally located...attractions, restaurants, shopping at your doorstep. We were able to walk to everything we wanted to see. Walked to and from the train station. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was good...especially the coffee and the homemade cake. Enjoyed meeting fellow travellers at breakfast. The restaurant right across the street was very good and reasonable..make reservations!
The restaurant and bar across the street could be a little noisy at night. We kept our window shut and used the air conditioner.
Not only were the location, cleanliness, and friendly staff warmly appreciated, but the shared kitchen facility across from our room permitted extra cappuccinos in the morning and a fridge for traveling food and wine. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.
Wonderful central location close to main attractions, bars and restaurants. Room and private bathroom clean.
Window facing wall so no natural light in room. Lights on in breakfast room and curtains drawn for same reason. Breakfast was basic and unless you were early no food left.
Great location in the middle of the main sights, good sized bedroom. Friendly staff.
The worlds smallest bathroom. They have done well to fit a bathroom in a cupboard, but it was made hard work by having no useable shelves, nowhere to hang towels to dry, and a toilet roll holder that fell off every time you touched it. Breakfast was nothing special, just bread and cake. Some yoghurt, bananas, muesli would have been nice.
A very comfortable family style breakfast room and large bedroom. Domenigo is charming and helpful. Love the location!
The several flights of stairs with no elevator. Should have asked to have bags carried up.
Domenico very helpful. Excellent location. 2 restaurants opposite were perfect.
We love this b&b! Situated right in the heart of florence. Room was beautiful and comfortable. So easy to get in and out of. Had everything we needed--aircon, water heater, wifi, breakfast, proximity to everything. Domenico is a darling and makes the best cappuccino. Will stay here again when we go back. :-)
Elevator wouldve helped with the suitcases but no biggie.
One of the female staff was very unfriendly
The place was neat, clean and tidy. A home-like environment with a small kitchen and dining area. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Climbing two flights of stairs with luggage was not a welcome that I expected. The breakfast was not great at all. The room was small but the bathroom was tiny to say the least!
Location, friendly staff, comfortable rooms
Very dark room, poor lighting Host wasn't very friendly...quite strict and inflexible actually. We were held up by 10 minutes to checkout and she wasn't impressed. Then we came to collect our bags later and used the separate toilet (which should have been locked) and she started telling us off. Just rude and made us feel like we weren't paying guests.
You cannot find a better value and more perfect location. Helpful staff.
The floor in the room was dirty. The inn keeper was so nice and helpful, but at breakfast time she tended to get wrapped up checking people in, arranging tours, etc. and it would take forever to get a coffee to get on with our day.
Shared private toilet
Domenico is the owner and very accommodating. We had huge issues flying in from Spain due to a French air strike. We didn't arrive until 2am, but Domenico woke up to let us in and quickly communicated with us all day by email to coordinate our arrival. He also kept breakfast out late for us the next day to eat. Location is very central and provides easy access to sites of the city. We had a short stay at his property but it was very pleasant!
This was a perfect spot so close to everything.
Close to everything, friendly staff
Bathroom was very small in one of the rooms
The location which was in the middle of the historical centre. The room itself was lovely. Very clean and beautifully decorated.
The stone steps going up to the accommodation. The breakfast was mediocre.
