Definitely had an institutional feeling to it and felt more like a hospital than a hotel but was very clean. Breakfast was average. Staff was friendly. The location was central.
The rooms were very basic and the bathroom was tiny. The staff spoke limited to no English. Difficult to find upon arrival.
Dinner was excellent! Food was not the typical tourist fare--pasta, pizza, etc. It was proper Umbrian. Vegetable soups with pasta, squid in potato salad, ham in omelette roll, spinach cake--very yummy! I'll take my sister and bother-in-law here in Easter.
service very good, flexible in meeting our needs for a better room. The rooms are small and very simple. It met our needs for one night. Breakfast was good, place is very secure.
Basement rooms are secluded, small, and claustrophobic.
The menu food for the evening was excellent and very very reasonable as well breakfast had a nice variety!
The accommodation is simple but fine. Really good value for the money, especially because of the location. Some people may find the breakfast too simple, but if this is not an issue, then its fine. It is not a hotel so much as a very nice, simple, clean conference style stay.
peaceful atmosphere,clean,wide room,
tall&big person may think badly of shower.
The best accommodation for the money. Great location and peaceful garden.
extremely kind staff harmonious building
separated building a little poor breakfast
The location and the fact that we could park on site.
We felt this was more like a hostel than a hotel. We would have liked to have a plate to eat our breakfast off! Also room 23 felt very enclosed and had a window with bars on opening onto a small courtyard which was being used as a store by the cleaners. We were woken at 6am by someone talking on their mobile outside the window;.
Everything; have stayed there on numerous occasions. Would recommend to others.

The garden and the openness of the reception and the yard.
Only one out of three reception staff was pleasant. The breakfast was not balanced and was always the same. No fruit was offered. If you were to stay there a few days like we did, the same breakfast every morning was not acceptable.
Dinner was fine for 12 Euro with water and local wine and lots of fruits for desert. After walking around all day, and as a solo traveler, it was a good idea eating at the accommodation. The room was simple and clean. I stayed three nights and they cleaned the room every day.
The floor and walls were thin. I heard noise from the neighbors. There was a bath tub but the plug was broken, what a pity.
The breakfast was good, the location near to the town.
The hostel is on a hill and requires walking up many flights of steep stairs to get to the upper town. The bed mattress is very hard and I could not get a good nights sleep.
price was reasonable, and continental breakfast was included
Our room was in a building detached from the main building, up a hill, more like a campus. Except for the man who booked us in, we did not feel a spirit of hospitality from the front desk staff.
ALL OF IT GREAT PLACE TO STAY
The Cittadella is situated in the heart of the old city and convenient for visits to the important sites. The room was basic but comfortable and breakfast was good. Lunch and dinner were also available and very good value for money.
It was cold when I was there but as it was May the heaters could not be turned on.
Great view and perfect location. My wife loved the bath tub!
Wifi not good. Breakfast was limited but enough
The location is good and there is parking.
The breakfast is very poor, the worst of my trip and just for 1 hour.
When I opened the window, I could see the spectacular view that is beyond description. I might be lucky as I was assigned on the top floor of the building.
It is a religious complex along with library, etc. That is why the sign of the accommodation was relatively hard to find at once. However as long as you can read the map, I believe finding the location wouldn't become a problem.
Clean, comfortable room, easy access to Assisi town centre
Breakfast was minimal!
I loved the location! Perfectly situated in the heart of Assisi. Great price for the convenience.
The walls were paper-thin. I could hear people answering their phones and having open discussions. Very annoying when you're trying to sleep.
Friendly staff; excellent location and excellent value for money.
