Balcony room and views excellent.Francesca on reception very good.

Food overall was very poor and stingy. Service average.Pool area needed attention, and had to cross the road to reach.Had to pay a daily charge to use the pool and for the animation team of which we had no use.

Very disappointed indeed! Although I had read not too good comments I gave it a try...they must reserve the smallest, non view +in front we had a metal staircase+ stained headboards, 2sachets of shampoo, furniture that eoobled when you opened it...only if you don t want to sleep under a tree...The road you have to cross is very dangerous...

We got a superb deal through and certainly could not complain as a result. The views from our room were stunning and the "infinity" pool is a dream. The staff were wonderfully friendly and the location was a joy, with the coast road simply stunning. Be aware, the hotel is not in Maratea itself and the town is an absolute must see. The coastline is rocky but again is a delight. Take the walk down the steps to the coast at the back of the hotel and delight in the flora and wildlife - we saw hundreds of lizards, a wealth of butterflies and the biggest snake I have ever seen in the wild.

Three gripes: the infernal disco noise at the pool - why, oh why, do Italians feel the need to wrap themselves in pounding noise even when in a pocket of paradise?; the charge for using the internet - this was the only hotel we stayed in where such a charge was applied; and the small tourist tax which was a surprise when added to the final bill (again the only hotel on our stay that did this.) Overall, the stay was still great value (we chose to stay for an extra night, changing our plans because we were so happy) but unexpected costs at check out do not make for absolutely delighted customers.
