Helpful staff, ready to assitst. It is hard to find the place as under the same street number of there are two other hotels and a number of private apartments. Some information signs at the courtyard leading to the right staircase will be helpful for any tired newcomer, especially after sunset,

I would like to say that the staff, mainly two young ladies, were wonderful. I was so impressed at how very hard they worked to keep the hotel spotless and running efficiently. They were very kind and helpful and always willing to talk and be very friendly. The staff was undoubtedly the best thing about the hotel. The central location of the hotel on a busy shopping district street and proximity to the Vatican are also major pluses Although the rooms were spacious and clean, I found the bed could have been more comfortable. Twin beds were put side by side and the mattress was just so so, not very inviting for a good night's sleep in my opinion. I think I was expecting the comfort level to be like that of other major hotels where I've stayed. For the price, I was expecting a bit more in comfort. Another issue which I found challenging was the elevator. It was one of those very old, narrow elevators with two sets of doors to close before it will move. If you've gone shopping and are carrying a lot parcels, it can be a bit annoying to have maneuver all those doors. If the doors happen to accidently be left open, the elevator will not come to you if you're at top or bottom or any floor in between. This is one issue that must be modernized within the building! A word of caustion to travellers to Rome: Please watch your step as you walk on downtown streets. There are broken, chipped and loose cobblestones everywhere. The morning that I arrived in Rome, I unfortunately tripped on one of them at a busy intersection close the hotel and fractured my left shoulder, completely ruining my two weeks vacation.

Clean, modern, sound proofed rooms, kitchen where you could use a kettle(use your own supplies except at breakfast), very good location, court yard is quaint, reasonable price for the location, air conditioning and the double glazing kept noise out. Lovely fresh food market near by. Near to Vatican the dome could be seen from our room. The lady who saw to us was lovely and gave us a good incite to Roman life: thank you. Breakfast self service and more than adequate bearing in mind it is a B&B not a hotel. Key to apartment door can be difficult to use at times but it is an old traditional door. We were ok with it but someone with arthritis may struggle. The lift is old which is not a problem as it is in character but if someone on a different floor does not shut the outer door you can't call it. Again if you have difficulty with stairs 4 floors = 8 flights + bottom flight. Marble could get slippy. This is not a critisism just a caution for elderly or disabled. We loved it and I used the stairs to exercise.

The location is good, 10 min to Vatican on foot. The staff is friendly and the room is clean and comfortable. The price is acceptable. Not easy to find the ring bell, and the breakfast is nothing but one croissant, ONLY ONE! milk and juice, sometimes if you get up late, your breakfast may be eaten by other guests, sigh...

Hotel was very clean and very comfortable.. Staff at the Hotel Cola Vatican Rooms are wonderful and very helpful. They go out of there way to make your stay wonderful. My room was lovely in every way and really was a comfortable space to come back to after a long day of sight- seeing. The location of the hotel was great..Near Metro station ,walking distance from the ancient city. Would definitely stay in this hotel next time I am in Rome. Highly recommended.

There was no phone in the room, and none available anywhere in this rooming house. Fourth floor, ancient tiny elevator, only one set of 4 huge keys so that if one person (we are a couple, but sometimes one of us likes to go out at a different time than the other) goes out, the other is locked in. The manager owner did not offer to let us use her phone to call a taxi. Instead she said she would arrange one ( for more money than the fare). There is a kitchen, no microwave, and no cooking utensils like pots or pans. A continental breakfast is arranged two blocks away but walking two blocks for 1 coffee & 1 croissant is not really pleasant. Refrigerator in kitchen but not in room. Other guests ate our food. Tv but no channels in any language but Italian. Bathroom tiny, shower smaller and toilet paper, soap, plastic cup were not replaced, altho one roll of T.P. was left in the kitchen-first come, first served. Manager available by phone but if you didn't have a phone, she may or may not have been upstairs somewhere. The manager emailed to ask what time we would arrive, but if we did not have email who knows if we could have gotten in or when. The place was a 15 euro taxi ride from the central train station and taxis offer a standard 48 euro ride to the airport. This place had all the charm of the inside of a refrigerator at very high prices for what they provided. There were no pictures on the walls, and the wi-fi coverage was worse than poor. One day they did not clean our room-no clean towels or sheets, no cleaning of the floor or emptying of the wastebaskets. That, to me, is unforgivable. Lastly, street noise was rather bad, despite good insulating windows & a fourth floor location. Loud motorbikes, ambulances, & trucks woke us often. Really a bad place to stay.

Nice location behind St Peters church and on a really good shopping street. The staff was a not on the hotel which made some problems for and we had to change our plans because of them, we wanted to check out a bit earlier than we first told the staff but since they didn't have a schedule to when to be there we had to postpone our check-out which the staff didn't like at all. She did wait for us when we were a little late to check-in which was nice of her.

The room was modern and super clean and we slept very well. I'd recommend it for a solo traveler who doesn't need wifi as the location and cleanliness were great but the service left something to be desired and we specifically choose a hotel for wifi. The 'free' wifi was nonexistent. The woman at reception waved at a box at the wall but showed little interest in helping to get it connected. The air conditioner was a small floor model that didn't work very well, but luckily it wasn't very hot.
