This was a decent Hostel, although I had to make changes to our reservatioin and did so before we left the us (about 3 weeks...) they failed to communicate with each other and had me down for two seperate rooms on different nights and not for the room i had booked. Although we did run into these problems, the staff sorted them out and didn't charge us any extra for the misscommunication. For the mess up they allowed us to have a free breakfast which was just what we needed for the day. The location of the hotel is not very close to San Marco's square but close enough for the price. The room was decent but had squashed bugs all over the walls which was weird to us... Also if you use the shower before your friend make sure you dont stay in there longer than 10 minutes because you will use up all the hot water! the squashed bugs all over the place, the unfriendly staff, and the lack of hot water to shower. Other than this, it was just fine for the price. |

In spite of my poor marks for the cleanliness, comfort, and facilities, the Collegio was literally half the price of the next cheapest thing available for Venice in June. The Dorsorduro, where it is located, is one of the nicer neighborhoods in Venice as well - the whole town is touristy, but it's one of the more laid-back quarters with a nice local vibe. My principle complaint is that it's NOT a hotel. It's a palazzo, that was converted to a high school, that was converted to a "hotel" by the addition of incredibly cheap, thin room dividers to make large classrooms into multiple sleeping rooms. According to the staff, this is a strictly temporary arrangement that has only been done in order to raise money to refurbish the building, so there has been absolutely no investment in amenities like sound-proofing and window screens. If your neighbors are a horny German couple, you know all about it. Staff were actually some of the friendlier service workers we met in Venice, but don't seem to keen on things like cleaning toilets or replacing broken shower-heads. |

Location is near the bus station ( around 10 minutes walks) and the staff is quite helpful. The building is horrible. The windows are broken and the whole hostel is converted from a old college. It is like living in a ruin of building more than a hostle. |

The hotel has a good location in a not-overly-touristy area. The bed sheets and towels were clean, and there was warm water when we took showers. That's as positive as I can be about my experience there. Everything else was pretty bad. The receptionist was extremely uniformative, unhelpful, and unfriendly. The room walls and closet were covered with dead mosquitos. The bathroom is not clean, especially the shower curtain, which looked like it had not been washed for a year. It doesn't cost much to replace a shower curtain. There were machine-like noises in the building that went on throughout the night. |

I should say I didnt think it is a hotel at all. It is a room with two beds with leaning floor. No hangers in the wardrobe. U could wake up really early coz the curtains do not do anything at all. Rooms are not sound proof, can hear the conversation of next door clearly. Staff not friendly at all. They dont even change the towels!!Horrible experience!!! Not a worth of money. |

The most important feature is the central position compared to the lowest prices among Venice's Hotels. Don't hope to find awesome rooms, but they are surely clean as the bathrooms too. Sometimes the showers are little cold |

Quite a central location. Very basic cold rooms with no double bed and communal toilets so it was very bad value for money, however it was venice during carnival so everything was quite expensive. |

After reading other reviews of the hotel, just be prepared. In fact, it is not so bad place, just ordinary youth hostel. For sure, soundproofing of the walls is very poor. |

The staff was very helpful and the location on the main island of Venice was very good. Considering that it was dormitory style accommodation the room and facilities were comfortable. The shared bathrooms and showers were very clean and the water was hot. An idea place for no frills backpacking in Venice. The room was a bit chilly on arrival (we stayed here in December) but it warmed up. Also the wall are quite thin which can be a discomfort depending on who's next door. |

Nothing!! The hotel was dark and dingy, the 1st room we were given had a window that didnt close, with a screen that was ripped to shreds! And it was freezing! The beds were not up to par, the rooms had no lamps, and everytime a door closed the rooms walls would shake! Very noisy, would not stay here again. |

The hotel is situated in the historic center, quite close to the railway station and to piazza San-Marco.The correlation between price and quality is good, because for such a price I found only hotels in the suburb.I advise this lodging for 1 night in Venice. I have no idea of improvement, but I'd like to notice, that the walls of a room are very-very thin and there is no soundproofing at all. Also I want to warn that there is nothing in the room except beds,a wardrobe and bedside-tables. |

It was well located and not too expensive We stayed for two nights in what was supposed to be a double room with a bathroom. The double room had four single beds which for a couple is not brilliant. The second night all our luggage and personal things were taken away to another bedroom without warning. Our second night was spent in a smaller room with two single beds. Also someone left the window open all day which let many mosquitos in. |

The building itself; garden; central location; close to vaparetto and supermarket; "Paper" walls; you will "survive" this hotel if you are able to think positively :), I wouldn't recommend it for those who expect comfort & lift & central location & stylish rooms & etc. for so small price... |
