The staff were friendly and always available, The location excellent. The room large and the beds firm. The main problem was bugs in the room, which resulted both in little sleep and in so many bug bites (46) that combined made for a poor second day to our two day trip to Venice. The walls and ceiling were covered with dead mosquitos. The room itself was sparse, 1 small wardrobe with no hangers. Nothing else, not even hooks on the wall to dry towels. Some toilets didn't have seats, and the shower had no place to change in privacy, and no shower drapes in the stalls to keep your towel/clothes dry.

Very hard to find. The information they provided about how to get there is very uninformative. They say 5 mins, but it cost us 1 hour to find it. Mosquitoes attacked us during the whole night, and we brutely killed five of them. The reception guy is not helpful at all.

The history of the college was interesting, and the inside of the building downstairs was beautiful (columns tiles etc).Obviously now it requires restoration, hence the cheap boarding prices. The size was also remarkable - the College covered a large surface area, with its own garden too. Location is ideal for getting around Venice. For the price, it was good value for money, including breakfast (basic but nonetheless, included).

I loved the location of this hotel (right on a Canale!!) and the Palace (Palazzo Zenobio) it is built in: so old and full of history. There's also a wonderful inner garden, and also some art exhibition: so great! Our room was in the attic floor, and there was no air conditioning system, so we could not sleep so well because of the hot temperature.

i would not recommend this hotel to anyone. the staff was not helpful at all. the room was full of mosquitos and spiders. neither the rooms nor the toilets were clean. there was not even soap in the toilets. besides, they close the place at 1am. at night. so if you go there after 1am, you cannot go in even if you pay for the night.

His geographique position We don't recommend this hotel. Mosquito nets don't work because they are torn. Rooms are dirty. Trash cans aren't emptied. Towels aren't changed. Walls move when we walk. Bulbs are broken in the bathroom and the corridors. Walls are dirty with crushed mosquitoes. The best for the end, the hotel is infested with bugs of bed. I saw these insects and we were pricked, but the hotelkeeper didn't want to believe in us.

The price was good, as was the location. The courtyard was lovely. The walls do not exist; they are simply cubicle holdings. You could hear every word, including the zip of a purse. It was very difficult to sleep. Also, it is quite a trek to your room from the street, making luggage difficult.

Pretty good location as for the price - 20 min on foot from railway and to the city center. Interesting building with nice inner garden. Two beatiful churches nearby that are not crowded with tourists. Supermarket is close too. If you have a heavy luggage be prepared to lift it by yourself on stairs. Just one power plug in a room - if you need more to charge your electronics - should use another one in a corridor. But it's not too much bad comperable with advantage to have a cheap sleep in so expensive city as Venice.

One of the cheapest you will find in Venice Location hard to get to if you have heavy luggage due to the number of bridges you have to cross.

The location is quite good. You have grocery stores nearby. The bad factors: bedbugs, the restroom is nothing short of a ruin and the hostel closes at midnight (important). If you are late, you're on your own. Book this hostel if you're on a tight budget - but don't spend more than 30 euros per night because it's not worth it-. You better find something else if you wanna stay in La Serenissima.
