Hotel Colomba d'Oro    

Obviously I liked the location in the very heart of Verona. The room was nice and the breakfast was good.

The staff of the reception was a little bit "away", a little bit reserved. There were fair but nothing more. Staff at the breakfast was somewhat confused. A four star hotel could care more about their guests.

Excellent facilities and service.

Being asked to payextra for a wi-fi connection was an unpleasant surprise, I've stayed in 4-star hotels and inexpensive hostels that have all included this service in the price of the room.

Great location, the staff very friendly, give you options of parking. Very good breakfast!

The hotel is great, well decorated, big and clean rooms, nice breakfast and excellent location.

Great location walking distance from all the main attractions. Beatuifully decorated hotel and quiet because of good double glazing. The hotel consierge eccommend the L'Orologia in Corso porta nuova, or cassi de Vino in via roma. Both run by the same family. We can confirm the food and service are superb.

This hotel is in a great location next to the Piazza Bra and Arena. Great for city street stoles in the evening and for access to a great selection of restaurants. You can walk comfortable to any of the key tourist sights with very little traffic to worry about.

A magnificent building with many original features and interesting history. Clean and luxurious room with monogrammed linen - a delight to stay in.

We stayed in Colomba d’Oro for 1 night in mid-September. It was my fourth time in the hotel, in a span of 10 years. A few years ago we stayed in a suite once, but my favorite is the room on the highest floor, with a bathtub and a balcony, and I was very happy that we got it as requested. The hotel provides consistently good level of service, as a true 4-star establishment. I made a reservation here for the quality of service, opting out of another B&B with tough rules (Relais 900) – at least at Colomba d’Oro you can check-in at any time, the door is never closed. There is help with the bags, right from your car. They offer a very expensive garage, but we managed to park at the street. The room is very comfortable, nothing changed over these years. There is a special storage space for the bags, a closet with a drawn curtain which is nice to keep the bags out of sight. The bed is very good, the bathroom is sparkling marble, with a bathtub. We did not use much balcony as there was a deluge in the evening, but it’s great in better weather. There is a minibar/fridge in the room. Breakfast is very good - fresh bread, pastries, cold cuts, eggs, although there is no fresh juice. The location is excellent – in the very center but quiet. The hotel overall is very dependable and reasonably priced, considering what it provides, comparing to Gabbia d’Oro (VERY expensive) or Relais 900 (too far and too unfriendly). I definitely recommend Colomba d’Oro for the overall value and would stay there again.

WiFi is not free; it’s not terribly expensive but not free. The air-conditioner in the corridor made laudable humming noise which was very annoying when one reclines on the bed; I was relieved when I found the source of the noise and simply turned the A/C off. We could sleep very well then. The garage is very expensive, and street parking is complicated in the historic center – well, the hotel is in the very heart of the big city, so this is to be expected. Otherwise, the hotel was as always very comfortable for our one-night stay this time. Recommended.
