The multilingual staff of our 18th century hotel in the heart of Florence provide traditional Tuscan hospitality in a friendly, smoke-free establishment with spacious rooms including free wireless internet access. Our rooms can accommodate families and groups. White walls and tiled floors throughout help to keep the hotel bright and cool and 7 of the 14 rooms have wonderful views overlooking the city. When its time to relax, the library and reading room have an abundance of books, magazines and tourist guides for you to peruse, as well as an internet point, and the hotel bar lounge is open 24 hours a day. A varying and vast breakfast buffet, served every morning, gives you the chance to fuel up on your choice of a sweet or savory breakfast with Italian coffees and fruit juices. The first receptionist to help us was wonderful; directed us through a local map (provided), and gave thorough and precise information regarding buses, trains, subways, etc. The other receptionists we encountered were nice, but did not go above and beyond. Free fruit basket in room (first day only) was a nice touch. Location was okay; about 4 blocks from train station, and several decent eateries around (especially 'Maid in Naples'). Very cramped room. Comically so. One place to open a suitcase, so I used the desk for the other location. Two tiny cupboards to store shirts/suits. Maybe a foot wide walkway between the bed and desk, 18" between the bed and side walls. The shelf over the bed sticks out too far; if you don't see it when you wake up, you might just knock yourself out getting out of bed. The wifi is a joke. Weakest signal ever; we ended up taking our laptops to the lobby to use.

Hotel is in a good location, less than 5 min walk to most of the tourist sights in Florence. Rooms are very spacious with excellent facilities and hotel staff are extremely helpful, the woman in particular who speaks fluent English. The hotel is on a main road but still very quiet. My room cleanliness was quite poor and there was mould on the wall above the shower.

Excellent value for money. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was very good and the room very clean. The breakfast could be richer, the internet was not operating all the time.

The family atmosphere was great. The owners and staff were very pleasant and helpful. We made a mistake in booking for 2 instead of 3, and they were gracious to work with us. I would definitely stay there again. The Internet sign-on was tedious. You had to re-enter the number every time you wanted to get back in line.

A wonderful small family run hotel right in the heart of Florence. The location is 5 minutes walk from all the major sights. The rooms are spotless and comfortable. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Having travelled all over Europe, we found Florence to be very reasonably priced, but this hotel was amazingly good value. I have never used this phrase before in my life, but if I return to Florence, I would definitely try and stay at the Hotel Colomba.

I travelled to Florence for a weekend break with my daughter and her friend. We booked two rooms. I was given a double room despite being alone and I was glad in terms of value for money. The owner / staff are very friendly in this Hotel. Breakfast was decent. The location of this Hotel is excellent, very close to the Duomo. The rooms are very spacious but the furniture is a bit old and so is the bedspread. I was given room number 8 which caters for people with disabilities having emergency alarms all over which I did not know what they were. The bathroom, although spacious, was without a shower tray, the toilet with the special seat, all taps with the long handle etc etc. I did not like this and would have expected to be told before allocated this room.

We loved the personal touch of all the wondeful staff at Hotel Colomba. They were extremely helpful and very warm, they made you feel like you were staying in your own home rather than at a Hotel.

Excellent location near the Duomo and all other major sights (Uffizi, Accademia etc.), incl. Station which is a 10 mins walk away. Very safe place for coming back at night. Decent breakfast though limited in choice. The room was very small but clean Small hotel in the 2nd floor ... difficult to find. The old lady at breakfast was grumpy most of the time.

The staff is fabulous, and extremely helpful and nice. The breakfast is excellent, with a great selection of everything one could want in a continental breakfast. The location is good, though I discovered it is very easy to get lost in Florence.
