Location, within walking distance of major attractions; helpful staff; simple but very adequate breakfast.
Only one key per room. Our room was on floor above office and guest without key had to get staff member to first unlock door to the outer room off of which were the bed rooms. Hotel was a little difficult to find from train station. Use a detailed map!
Very nice, family owned hotel.
Very helpful with info and very welcoming and friendly - even though we arrived at 11:30 at night!.
The centrally located breakfast room means that you'll be woken by the sounds of other, earlier guests getting breakfast. Saves you sleeping in and mising Florence though!
excellent location and wonderful breakfast included in room price; staff was very friendly and helpful; very clean; quiet at night
Mattresses and pillows were not the most comfortable
The staff were the most helpful of any we have met anywhere in the world. They were also fun! The location is fabulous. One has but a short walk to everything! The breakfasts are included and featured eggs, fruit, cereal and a healthy carrot juice to die for!
When we first arrived, coming from the rail station, we were a little leery of the neighbourhood, but that soon disappeared once we met our hosts.
Great location only 5minute walk to the Duomo. Nice breakfast with great coffee. Nice family run small hotel. Good air conditioning. Very quiet location for a good nights sleep.
Beds were a little firm for my taste. Bath was narrow so might not work well for large person.
The staff were helpful, friendly and sincere. We liked the little things such as the hand wipes on the breakfast table, the selection of teas, etc. The coffee was very good! We were put in a room at the back which was very quiet.
The bed was a little too firm for my personal taste but would suit most.
I love how generous they are with the selection of breakfast and the amount of supplies in the room such as the toiletries. Rooms are very homey and the cappuccino every breakfast is great. Most importantly, the location is literally walking distance to all major attractions. The hosts are really welcoming and very good in giving directions.
The bathroom in Room 15, where we stayed, had a weird layout. The water closet in particular is placed in a narrow corner. If you're long-legged it will be difficult for you to sit down. The Wifi is too slow & does not connect sometimes when you're inside the room, so you need to go out in the hall or the lobby or breakfast room to have good signal.
Near to all the major sites. Terrific staff. Great coffee and breakfasts.
Rosanna and her staff treat you like family from the moment you arrive. You could not ask for a better location, 100 m north of the Duomo yet all the crowds seem to taper off before you reach the hotel. You cannot go wrong staying here.
We loved the staff at Hotel Colomba- they were fantastic and friendly, especially the morning staff at breakfast. The location is great in Florence, it's close to the Academia Gallery and only a short walk from the Duomo and the shops. Our room was a great size and very quiet. The free wifi was fantastic. Overall it is good value for money and we would definitely consider staying here again.
The bed wasn't very comfortable and the pillows were incredibly flat so we both didn't get much sleep. The shower was also very old, the shower head needs to be updated. The bathroom was very small but nothing out of the ordinary for hotels in Europe. The safe was also not bolted into the wardrobe, however it worked so we still used it.
Hotel Colomba has an excellent location, friendly owners and staff and is is very clean and comfortable.
the best location for the historical sites and the train station, friendly staff, good breakfast, quiet place, there is a supermarket at 20 m.
a bit overpriced
The staff is what makes this hotel 5 star.
The hotel's location is excellent, staff was quite friendly and the hotel offers parking service. Rooms were quite clean.
The property is quite old, internet is not stable and breakfast buffet could offer more variety.
Nice people running the place, decent rooms, easy to find and not too hard to get to with public transport. Would recommend it, considering most hotels seem pretty scammy in Venice.
The breakfast was so and so. A lot of portion size stuff in plastic and with lots and lots of sugar. Perhaps more wholegrain stuff like cereal and fresh whole wheat bread would make feel a bit more wholesome. Doesn't have to be a full continental style buffet to be a bit more filling and a bit less sugary. No elevator is kind of a problem, but we could keep our pushcar in the lobby so that was all right.
Nice hotel with nice staff and owner. Good breakfast. Small but really clean bathroom. Close to the center.
Room air condition was not good
excellent service, proximity to historical center,
The location is excellent , the staff very helpful , very good breakfast
The beds were not comfortable
The location is absolutely excellent! Very close to Florence Cathedral, 3 mins by walking. The hotel owner speaks English very well, which helped us a lot. The breakfast is the best one in the many hotels that we've lived within this month in Italy. There will always be at least one people in the main desk, so people can go home or get help no matter how late it is. The restaurants which the Hostess suggested are also very close and delicious! Getting to live in this hotel helped making our trip better!
There are mosquitoes in the room at night, which somewhat bothered me.
-Location in the city center -Friendly Staff
-Old furniture -Access to the hotel which is at the second floor of an old building
Everything is very small. Mini-bathroom and uncomfortable room. They have their own meal in the main room in the night, so noise and smell. Over-rated and overpriced
A small, friendly, family run hotel. Very good coffee Plentiful Italian style breakfast Good sized rooms very clean and comfortable Air con and fridge in room
