Opened in 1308, the Albergo Cavalletto & Doge Orseolo is one of the oldest hotels in Venice. It is set right behind St. Mark's Square, and features elegant rooms and a private pier.

Great location and excellent staff. Hotel is very beautiful, and the room decor is amazing, in the style of Doge's Palace. We were offered a complimentary tour of Murano, which was much appreciated. We had a great stay in the beautiful city of Venice.
Biggest complain I have is that this hotel does not really cater to families with more than one child unless you get two rooms. Rooms are small to begin with and another bed makes the room very cramped. Also, make sure that your room does indeed have canal view because we paid for a "canal view" room and what we got was indeed a room facing the canal on the second floor but we could not really see the canal, just the building across, so make sure that you get a room on the higher floors. They moved us to another room we chose on the same floor after we complained, which was lovely but still very limited canal view because of the height of the room. For the price we paid, I expected more I guess and the photos are misleading because they are not taken from inside the rooms but make you think that this is going to be your view which in our case at least, was nothing of the sort. I am sure they have rooms with nice views and I paid the same amount as those ones but unfortunately I did not have that ...
I liked the proximity to most of the attractions and our rooms were very pretty, transporting you to another era. Staff was nice and polite. Catered to our complains about the room immediately!
The hotel interiors add to the experience of being in Venice. The rooms were big and complete with toiletries, etc. The staff was very enthusiastic and friendly. Communication was superb. All our bookings were done thru them and went smoothly.
Great location, friendly staff, lovely rooms and very well maintained.
The location and the staff, the comfort of the rooms. I stayed there 12 years ago and was very impressed. I wasn't disappointed this time either.
Lovely small boutique hotel on a canal just a short stroll from Piazza San Marco. Charming ambiance. Friendly and very helpful staff. They upgraded us to a room with a balcony and large "French doors" right above the canal with the famous "Bridge of Sighs" Only in Venezzia!
In general, the staff was very helpful and attentive with just one exception so we simply avoided him. everyone else was delightful.
This hotel was everything they'd advertised and we were most pleased. The location was just a few blocks from St. Mark's Square so super convenient. The view of the Bridge of Sighs out of our window was special. Breakfast was excellent. I would return in a heartbeat,
Wifi could be better, some breakfast items that should have been hot were not...
Easy walk to Piazza San Marco, it is located on same canal as Bridge of Sighs, really quaint, and you can be dropped off by boat to their door
The staff exceeded our expectations. Very good location with an outstanding view of the Bridge of Sighs. It was everything one could hope for in a top quality Venitian hotel and was well worth the cost.
The hotel was in an ideal position for San Marco and Rialto. It was also very tranquil. The hotel staff were friendly and cheerful and made us feel very welcome.
Amazing staff, great recommendations, all around amazing!
Location is not easy, very difficult to rach to hotel. Specially I n night is very dark & breakfast is very poor hardly have anything to eat.
comfortable, clean, good rooms
The only thing I could complain about was the fact we only had one pillow each, was one spare in the room, but only had to ask and they brought some more pillows to our room, and the internet did drop out a lot but then again I didn't go away to spend my time on Facebook!! But if you need it for work not good
I found all staff very helpful, we had a stress free wknd didn't have to worry about anything, they organised transfers, trips, all picked up and dropped from hotel jetty, yes at a price but how can you go somewhere like Venice and not expect to spend some money!! The transfers were excellent too! only a half hour boat ride to hotel where as the public might be cheap but also very crowded and no help on and off the boat, like I say you only get what you pay for!! And it's so close to St marks square, so makes it easier to find your hotel if you get lost! And the only think we had to worry about was where we were gonna eat each night, our room 104 had a balcony and a view of the bridge of sigh, nice large room lovely bathroom shower lovely and hot if you wanted and breakfast was a Continental but had a great range of food choices, will definitely be recommending to family and friends.
No elevator so we have to carry our luggage up to the room
love the classic interior design of the hotel

The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about all the sights in Venice!
We visited Venice during the masks carnival and the prices at the city center were high.
Perfect location! 1 minute walk to San Marco and 5 minutes walk to Rialto bridge. Great staff, helpful and kind. Good and fresh breakfast. We were upgraded to a suite, which was extremely pretty, spacious and well equipped.
Hotel was fab in every way. we had room 405 with private roof terrace couldn't fault it at all, Staff were so friendly. Breakfast was really nice plenty of choice even bacon and scrambled eggs. we will deffently return
quiet but close location to Rialto and St Marks square. Staff lovely
