Location, room was clean
Nobody there in office on checkout, then sent me an email with headline "FAILURE TO PAY". I had already left a note saying I was there to pay and nobody was in.
Great location, lovely little room!
Location is very good.(very central) House was very clean and tidy and room was well equipped.
Internet was so slows that I have to go to the corridor to be able to check my e-mail. To be fair the accommodation is very central which helps to go around quickly but there is negative aspect to it because if you open your room's window there were very loud noises from the main road and Bar . This meant you could not sleep well.
Great location, 5 min from Colosseum. Helpful staff, always ready to suggest you a place to visit or a place to eat. Very clean room, nice decor.
It's absolutely impossible to find a hotel from just only address. They should write in vouchers that you need to find a door in front of the street and which apartment you should be calling. The great location for sightseeing also means that every night there will be a lot of young Italians drinking and shouting near the building. And when I say "shouting" I mean it. Like the football stadium. So it's hard to sleep especially in weekends. It's Rome so good for the price, but comparing to other cities- ha!
Location is very good. 10 minutes walk to Coliseum and 5 minutes walk to Cavour metro station. Helpful staff. Helped us to take the luggage to the second floor by the elevator and also helped us find a electric kettle to boil water. Clean and comfy. Nearby got a convenience store which sells drinks and fruits till late hours. Also some shops nearby selling pizza and souvenir.
The bedsheets are a bit washed out. No wifi signal in the room. But outside in the corridor it has very good reception and speed.
Location couldn't be better - close to major sites and railway station. Weather was hot and it was great to be able to return for a leisurely lunch, turn on the air conditioning before heading out again. Accommodation is simple in decor but very comfortable and is well-equipped. Free Wi-Fi worked really well. Bed was very comfortable. Our apartment was in Via Cimarra - a street which looks a bit scruffy at first but is actually part of vibrant community life. You also realise that in Rome, scruffiness is relative! We were very pleased with our choice of accommodation.
The shower cubicle could do with redecoration but the shower works well.
Noisy road, dirty wall
Excellent location Easy walk to all main Rome attractions Easy book in
No microwave Noisy environment, but we were aware of this from previous reviews.
We liked having our own space and facilities.
Very nice decorated, clean and very good location.
I would prefer to have a fridge in the room at least, but there wasn't
The location is perfect, directly opposite to coliseum. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had plenty number of luggage and our flight was in the middle of the night and they took care of our luggages all day and arranged taxi for us. It was very clean, nice place to stay.
Nothing to complain.
Great location, Clean and nice rooms, Friendly staff, well equipped

The location was good. The front desk staff were helpful.
We were placed in an apartment separate from the hotel (#49 Cimarra) with our 15-month old daughter. The first night we were there, around 9:30 PM, we noticed that there was a sewage leak in the bathroom. We called the "Emergency number" listed in the room as there is no front desk after 6 PM. No one at the number could speak English (or French) well so they could not understand us, however they asked us to text the address to them. 20 minutes later we called to confirm receipt of the text and were told that they do not receive text messages at that number, to call Bookingdotcom (through whom we made the reservation). Finally we reached someone at Bookingdotcom who could speak Italian, who called the "Emergency number". They told the Booking representative that they did not service the room but they knew who did; they were going to call that person on our behalf. A few minutes later we received a call from someone at the "Emergency number" saying they tried to call the repairman but could only leave a message so they didn't know if/when he would be there. By this time it was after 11 PM and the room was overcome with the smell of sewage. Additionally, our (fabric) luggage was stowed in a cubby in the bathroom & it got sewage water on it. By midnight the repairman came and 'fixed' the problem. He wiped the bathroom floor with paper towels but not before walking through the apartment with the sewage leak on his shoes. We were unable to use the bathroom or let our daughter play on the floor (which is why we rented an apartment in the first place, to have a place for her to play). The next day, we told Emmanuel (from the property management group) about the problem. We requested a refund of the first night's stay at about 100 euros (we had paid upon check-in) since we couldn't really use the room (or bathroom) that night and had to sleep in the place with the smell of sewage.
Proximity to coliseum. The kitchen was well equipped.
The facilities were not clean. There was mold on the tiles and walls in the bathroom. We had two rooms of different types. They were located in different buildings 3 blocks from each other. We were told this was our fault. On the third and last night of our stay the drains overflowed in the bathroom leaving it with smell of sewage.
Location....5 minute walk to the Colosseum! Cleaniness, presentation, security was great. Was pleasently surprised by the quality of the accommodation given how cheap the room is! The accommodation was spacious! Owners and staff were lovely and so very helpful. Even after we checked out they still provided assistance. If you are staying in Rome this is fantastic accommodation.
The hotel is very close to the Colosseum (like 10-15min walk) and we could literally see it when we arrived at the hotel. The staff were really nice and willing to accommodate our late arrival.
The wifi in the room was really weak --but it was okay considering that we arrived really late at night and fell right asleep.
Great location, definitely deserved high mark on booking.com. Very clean, nicely situated, great coffee bar downstairs, yet quiet enough. This was our second stay there, and most likely we will return to the same place. That says a lot, doesn't it?
There was no one at the "hotel reception" when we arrived and we were stuck outside the door for over 2 hours. A note was left with a number to call, but we didn't have international roaming, when we were able to find someone who would phone the number there was no answer, twice. Finally, someone from another B&B was able to help us get hold of the people and helped us get our keys, we never actually met anyone from House Monti. When we got our keys we weren't told which number, or where the unit was. We had to try each door in the building only to find out it was actually in another building. The other B&B owner was helpful enough to show us where the other block was up a few blocks and down a dodgey alleyway. Nothing like what the pictures showed. Again, we didn't know which number we were so had to try each door on each floor until we found the one our keys opened. The actual unit was ok, but nothing like what the pictures showed. I would never stay here or recommend it to anyone.
Close to the Colosseum which is good if you are doing Rome in the summer. Short walk, about 10 mins, for a cool shower and ready to go at it again. The staff, especially Lala, has been very helpful. The neighborhood has a Conad close by for some cheap supplies, so you don't have to eat out all the time. There's an active and lively night gathering at the piazza nearby, but we were not bothered by this, nor were the children.
Rome can be hot in the summer, and due to some energy saving measures (which I agree with), the AC can infrequently be inadequate, and I hate to know how it is in Rome in August. The shower head in the suite was loose and needs to be fixed.
Large, clean and an excellent base to discover rome. Lots of great places to eat and drink within a 2 min walk.
The hosts were not very helpful when we were trying to book a taxi when leaving.
Location as we could see the colosseum from our suite it was easy to find.
While House Monti 1875 was advertised as a hotel, it really is an appartment, with no staff on desk from after 4pm until 10am the next morning.
It was very pretty
The air conditioning was minimal. Very noisy from outside.
Whilst not a problem for us, some guest may not like that there isn't staff on site 24 hours a day.
