Almost nothing, exept probably the speed of check in and checkout. The room had smils, I asked for nonsmoking room and was given a room full of smoking smils. The windows of the room do no prevent noise at all. Location is in a dirty area, not good for families. The room was not clean enough and the furnuture was not good. The staff were not friendly enough.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Very good breakfast. Interesting view on the port and the sea. Ask for the room on the sea side. Big free parking just near the hotel door. Easy to reach from the motorway. Very close to the ferry terminal, and not far from cruise terminal. A little bit complex to return from the center at the night due too subway is closed very early at Genoa. WiFi is not free (1 euro per hour).

Location is really great - with the view on the port and the city. If you came from the highway you don*t have to drive threw the city to reach the hotel. Our room was big enough but poor and old furnished. The dinning room is to small for such big hotel - I have a feeling on the breakfast that I have to eat very quick to leave the dinning room as soon as possible to make a place for the others. The choise of the food was not memorable.

Needed a basic, comfortable hotel room at a reasonable price for an overnite stay. The hotel met all expectations. The room was clean, and surprise, surprise, the shower was big enough to take a comfortable shower. The buffet breakfast was a hit,as it provided a variety of choices, croissants, danishes, juices, meat, cheeses, and coffee. The only damper on this short stay was,Italy falling to the U.s 1-0 at Luigi Ferrarri Stadium..

Columbus Sea Hotel is the best place for starting a ship tour of msc. It was easy to go there from the strada and easy to go to the port of msc ship. It is a good idea for ship travellers.

This hotel was rated seven out of ten by our family. It was very difficult to find even with a gps, but when we did it was well worth it. Our room was big, clean, quiet and had a wonderful view out over the port. The bathroom was excellent and breakfast was ver good. Parking was also good on site. Public transport to the city is about a fifteen minute walk away and easy to use. Very difficult to find because a gps will take you to the correct co- ordinates, but one level down on the port, which is almost impossible to leave once you are there. The hotel is on the street above the port.

Large room, clean, good furnished, with kettle, we appreciated free and secured parking. Location near a highway, little far from city center, good for visiting not only Genova. Although we were almost satisfied, the 4-stars label doesn´t suit at all. Especially the breakfast. We have problem with hot water (sometimes flow boiling).

Sorry but can't think of muchh apart from the parking was right at the Hotel. Room's heating was broken however they did move me to another room on what they said was a cooler room, but not by much though the move was appreciated. The food at the bar was disgusting however the lady serving was very helpful and polite. Very few hotels these days (especially in Europe) make you pay for wifi, unfortunately The Columbus Sea Hotel is not one of them. Make sure you get a room as high up as possible as the both sides are very noisy and exposed to either a main road or the commercial docks. The windows don't offer much sound proofing especially when you have to open them when it was so hot in the room.

After a long drive we were able to park right at the hotel and despite late hour (10 pm) we were accomdated in the restaurant for an excellent meal by one of the friendliest and professional ladyservers we had ever met. The next day we left on a cruise and the terminal was nly 10 min away. All the staff was helpful, the room and linen very clean and the price very attractive....we will be back

As a stay-over on our way to Rome. The hotel was very convenient for turning off the motorway and was easy to find with parking. We had a room with a view.. Of the port. The hotel staff were friendly and meals can be served late at their restaurant so we were grateful as we arrived late in the evening. Our room was large and even had a press iron. :)

Best location when tarvelling on by ships , hotell situate very close to port. Best place to reach on ship's check-in in the morning rush -hours. If you want to visit just Genova, then take another hotel closer to citycenter You must be ready for noice from port, all night. But this is not hotel's problem

Staff were friendly and helpful (except for breakfast staff) and the room was roomy, clean and the bed was comfortable. Easy enough to find, parking was good and safe. Breakfast was terrible. The female staff member got upset that we dared ask if any more hot food was coming out. We waited for another 40 minutes, but nothing arrived. Many people came and went during that time, often walking up to the hot food trays with a look of bewilderment on their faces.

The proximity of the ferry port and the sympathy of the bar waitress. Needs an urgent renovation. Probably it never had one since its opening a few decades ago...

“The accommodation was first class. The striking thing about this hotel was the friendliness of front of house staff. They went out if their way to assist us and advise on aspects of our holiday in a foreign land. I have rarely met this level of professionalism in a hotel and would recommend it to anyone travelling to Genova.” Terry, Porirua |
