Hotel Columbus  

Convenient to the Vatican area and shopping. It is not new and modern and fits with the area. The staff were very helpful. It is in close proximity to the many small cafes in the Vatican area that have very good food and reasonable prices. Breakfast was included. It wasn't a great breakfast but it was easy and very convenient,

No air conditioning. We did not really need it but I would not stay in the summer for that reason.

Great historical building, 100 meters from St Peter's Square. Friendly staff, and very quiet considering the location on the main road leading to the Vatican. Very comfortable bed, and air-conditioning. No better option or location for a Vatican overnight stay.

Room furnishings are outdated, dingy carpet, obvious wear and tear. Room was indicated as non-smoking, yet had an ash-tray and complementary matches. Shower fixture sprayed in all directions, including the ceiling whose water stains indicated this was not a new problem. Room rate did not include breakfast, yet they offered to add it for an additional 15 euro at check-in. I declined and walked next door to a cafe for a 5 euro breakfast, Italian style. For the price of the room, breakfast should be included.

The location is absolutely excellent. The hotel is located literally within 3 minutes walk from Vatican & in a pretty quiet safe area, though with an easy access to the crowded centre. The location couldn't be better!!! The building has an ancient interior (pictures, etc.) The hotel's restaurant is considered to be exquisite which makes it reasonably expensive.

One morning a cleaning lady opened the door without even knocking at 08:30 A.M. while talking loudly with another woman. Maybe they just made mistake with a room that should be cleaned after a check-out as it never repeated again. There was a limited amount of tv channels (6 or 7 Italian channels & 1 French channel).

Good quality/price (126 eur/night), stunning location and garden restaurant. However air conditioning would not work, and I got to stay under the roof, which made the room super-hot.

This is a special hotel with unik atmosphere in an old residence from the church. So close up to St. Peters Cathedral, wonderful restaurant with excellent food. Best place in Rome for us.

the location is perfect

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!! the room looks like a 2 star hotel room i could not shower because they are deperately trying to save water i guess they stoped the heating during the night and it gets cold it smells awfull i have never seen such a poor breakfast, and they do not refill, even if there not much left we stayed out a lot cause the thought of returning to the room ruined our mood

Sa situation géographique est parfait; l'atmosphère historique et culturel était magnifique et inhabituelle; la vue sur le basilique du Saint Pierre a partir de notre chambre était splendide. C'est notre 2eme séjour dans cette hôtel - les prix promo permettant d'en profiter ( les prix normaux étant complétement hors notre budget).

les chambres et surtout le manque du "buzz" humaine - mais peut-être normal pour un séjour hors saison (fin novembre).

Die Fensterscheiben im Zimmer sind aus Milchglas. Um etwas zu sehen, musste man erst die Fenster öffnen.
