The location is top and could be a 5-star hotel. The rooms, bed and feeling of luxury is not there!

The location is beautifull. Also the parking facility is good. The aircon in the room worked good. The room is very old and also the bed is old and bad. The bathroom has the most dangerous bathtub I have ever encountered. Everything is old. It really needs a total refit to match european 4 star quality. I would not give any star to this hotel. The standard breakfast is very poor. Additional breakfast is very expensive. My room was on the street side and therefore very noisy.

I was surprised when we got to hotel, as I actually wasn't expecting much from the reviews I had read about hotel previously. I knew it would be great location and just a good hotel, but when we got there, wow! My husband was ecstatic and thought it unbelievably romantic. I was soaking it all in, because you never really know what a hotel is like until you get there in person. I instantly felt relaxed. To top it off, we received the top floor room that included a small balcony facing towards the sea, and a large terrace that also faced the sea, and continued with a 270 degree view of everything...Amazing !! We will never forget the time we spent there, and will return again one day.

Hotel is located on the seaside. Excellent beach facilities, restaurant and sights Room quality had nothing to do with the pictures set on the website. In fact, the hotel has refurbished and non-refurbished rooms. We were accommodated in a non-refurbished room that did not bring the standards of a 4 stars hotel (old, small, no blinds, no acoustic insulation,,, like a 2 stars hotel). Hotel staff was helpful and provided us with the possibility to move to the only remaining refurbished room with a 20%discount. This second room was a very nice suite junior, but we had to pay almost twice the expected budget.

Set on a beautiful coastline with lovely bathing area and gardens. Good gym and wellness centre. Bedrooms are a little 'old world' which has a certain charm. Friendly staff. Great location. Lots to do in the surrounding area.

Outstanding view from our balcony, overlooking the harbor. The staff was very helpful. The room was comfortable. The breakfast seemed typical for a european hotel of this level. The price seemed reasonable considering the busy summer season and the location of this property. Location is also good for exploring the Cinque terre region.

The location was lovely and the surrounds, gardens and water views. The new rooms were nice. All was fine most of the staff were friendly and helpful. The view from the gardens was lovely Close to main shopping and centre. We actually had not booked our next location so we had 2 more nights here. Unfortunately being peak season we were lucky to have the extra 2 nights but not in the same room. The only think I could say they were a little scarce on the toiletries. The paper for the bathroom ran out and the body wash was not checked. The second room was all that was available at the time and was on the street side not recommended as they are dark.

The location and view are amazing. There are few better vistas in the world. The room was fine but a bit outdated. The view can make up for quite a bit, but a room refresh with added eminities would be great.

The concierge, John, was a huge help to us. He took care of everything from dinner reservations, local sightseeing, train connections, directions, umbrellas in the rain, etc. Guest room #309 is fantastic, with a roof-top terrace complete with sunchairs and a beautiful view of Santa Margharita harbor. Fitness center is a plus. Location is right on the water and within walking distance of the village. Coffee at breakfast was great; but the buffet could use a few more items (fresh fruit; granola; nuts; boiled eggs).

Probably the best location in the area with spectacular views and lovely facilities. Our room was beautiful with a large comfortable terrace and all the facilities were modern and in good condition. The staff could not have been nicer or more attentive. This means I would be delighted to return and would recommend it to friends. I could not afford to come in high season as the prices are too high.

What a wonderful hotel right on the water, close to Santa Margherita centre and a short walk from the train. We were upgraded to a beautiful room with balcony overlooking the Mediterranean. Stunning views, great gardens and relaxing places to catch the sun. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Location. Short walk to Santa Margherita. Air conditioning. We could not lock the room door from the outside. Staff told us to just close it shut and it is safe enough. Mini bar refrigerator was not cold at all.

the view. Our hotel room was small and had an odor. We were also put in a sea view room that mostly looked at an area under construction. The workers worked from 8: in am until 7:30 in evening which I thought was a bit much. room rate was to much for this. also one of the parking attendants took an antique nail I found at my great grandfathers home out of my car. :( displeased with this place.

Staff were excellent, very helpful and polite. The location of the hotel is brilliant on the cliff overlooking the beautiful gardens of hotel, the harbour and town. Close to train station and town. First three nights I was on the road side of the hotel, which can be a little noisy with the traffic. But thanks to a train strike, I had to stay another night but staff upgraded me to a balcony on seaside, for same price. I should of done this from day one, was wonderful. Both rooms I stayed in were well appointed and comfortable, but would of been nice to have tea and coffee in room.

This grand dame of the Liguria coast is in the process of renovation. Its renovated rooms are displayed on the Booking site, but the rate advertised is for the old, not renovated rooms. Fortunately I was given an upgrade without asking and stayed in a nice room with balcony on the seaside. The hotel has free access to its private rocks on the sea - not what I would call a beach - and it's good swimming even end september in the sea. Views on the marina and a nice garden supplement it all. The restaurant offers classic italian fare and its service is jovial and fast. The massage facilities offer also an excellent shiatsu - not announced as such. Parking is with a professional service agent, who orchestrates the va-et-vient efficiently. Eggs for breakfast are available only at extra cost of over 10 euro - a bit steep. The hotel should complete its renovation asap.

I did like the view fron my hotel room. I didn't like the poor quality of the staff especially at the reception or during the breakfast. The man at the reception was almost rude, didn't give any advices or tips about what was nice to discover in the region. A real disappointment for that type of Hotel and considering the price of the room (€ 270 the night).

“This is simply one of the best hotels anywhere. The accomodations are luxurious; the staff is outstanding; the experience is memorable. From the spacious, comfortable room to the balcony overlooking the Mediteranian to the pool and grounds to the fabulous restaurant, you are in for an unforgettable treat. In addition to the hotel, walk down to the town and enjoy a beautiful seaside resort. Take a ferry to Portofino and other nearby resort towns. Use this as a jumping off place for day trips to Cinqa Terra and other coastal destinations using the train. Magnifico! ” Michael, Fair Oaks Ranch |
