The location of the Hotel Continental is fantastic. We had a room with a terrace overlooking the Mediterranean. All that we expected from the reviews. |

The location and view. New fitness fascilities are nice. Overpriced and in need of renovation. Rooms in the cellar shouldn't be offered at all since they are miles away from 4 stars. |

Excellent staff. Very friendly and helpful. Clean room with beautiful view. We will definately stay again. There was no ''no smoking room'' option when booking. |

Very attentive and friendly staff. Very nice gym and spa area. Entrance fantastic with view of sea. Although well sited with excellent views and clean, the rooms are a little old and could do with renovation. |

Beautiful location, and staff who were extremely kind to my elderly parents. Charging for use of deckchairs on their own private beach, €7 each. Charging €0.50 to speak to another room. |

The setting is stunning, the best in Santa Margherita Ligure Our room (22) balcony was only separated from an outside lounge area by a row of plants. No privacy was a problem. |

The position overlooking the bay is superb. The patio where breakfast was served was great,I liked the verandah outside of our room - large and a great view. The gardens are also beautiful and well maintained. , I do think the amount charged for the use of a chaise longue at the sea=side is exorbitant. |

Swimming, eating & shopping.Took boat trip to Cinqe Terre area. We were promised a sea view but we could hardly see it as on basement level on garden with a room above us with wooden floors & we could hear every sound the occupants made. Also wiring in our room coming out of the wall all quite tatty. |

The location was just great - best view in the whole town... I can absolutely suggest this hotel! The room we first got was only "partial sea" view. - actually it was next to the street and very loud! The room we moved to next was really nice... Furtheremore the breakfast was pretty poor. |

Nice gardens and places to sit - nice terrace. Close to town. Withj no swimming pool, and at these prices, I was annoyed we had to pay extra for sunbeds - I suggest these should be included. The '3 person room' was a 2 person room with an extra bed put in. |

Location, house keeping( cleanless) The hotelroom which we stayed in was a sea view room, which we had to pay 253 euro's for. We were suprised when we saw the room because the room didn't look like the picture we saw. The bed was awfull, I had never seen a horrible bed like this in my life. The shower was incredible small, the height was only 1.55m! So an adult with a normal height can never have a decent shower! |

Loved the gardens and the beach area and the close proximity to the promenade of Santa Margherita. When we first arrived we were put in a very small, smelly room in the basement. On the hotel website it says the rooms have been refurbished but this one clearly hadn't. They did move us into a different room for the 2nd and 3rd nights we stayed. |

The location could not be better and there is a wonderful beach area. Very easy to get into Portofino - but take the bus, taxis are extremely expensive! It was a bit pricey for the size of the room, but I guess it is a popular vacation area and they are all around the same price. |

Best of all was the breathtaking view. I also loved the fact that the main road is not between the hotel and the sea and I was able to walk down through the lovely garden to the bathing area. The hotel is also conveniently located, just a 5-minute walk into town. Although I booked a single room, the receptionist was flexible enough to let me change to a room with a view. The food on the night I decided to take half-board with the set menu was below standard. Even though 30 Euros isn't much, I still expected something better. The waiters were very friendly, but not all are very experienced. Perhaps because it's the beginning of the season. |

Nice location; very close to the train station and a short walk to the town. Very nice area for sunning, swimming. Grounds were very well kept and beautiful, with many seating areas with sea view. Good breakfast. Staff was helpful and most spoke good English. We had a room that on the street side, which was quite noisy. A sea view room would have been awesome. |

Location of the hotel is outstanding, right by the sea. So, it really pays to ask and get a room from the seaside. Some rooms have their private terraces. We stayed the first night in a room in upper floors with a small balcony. We heard everything from the neighbor room the next morning! For the second night we had a room no 21 and it was super nice with a big private terrace. |

Very good location just a short walk to the town where you can take a bus to nearby Portofino. Wonderful location with beautiful views over the bay. Very good service and a warm atmosphere generally. Definately on my 'come again soon' list |

The staff on the front desk were fantastic. They planned everything for me. Walls too thin - could hear the person next door snoring all night! |
