Hotel Continental

Just a minute from Venezia St.lucia train station, this hotel provides silent place to live during your stay. The staff is great with good English knowledge. Internet and other facilities are acceptable.

Proximity to the sights of venice, closeness to good restaurants, walking distance to Piazza di San Marco and Canale Grande

The beds were too narrow. My son and I are 1.95m tall and broad- shouldered and were afraid to fall out of the beds. I would not recommend this hotel to any tall or big person

Location is everything! If this is your first trip to Venice, look no more. The hotel is conveniently located only a 5 minute walk from Piazzale Roma -- this is where you arrive if you take a bus from the airport or travel by cart -- and literally around the corner from the train station. Therefore no need to strut across town with all that luggage in tow. The vaporettos that stop 100 m from the hotel will take you anywhere, including the express DM line that goes directly to Murano island. Opt for the canal view, and you will stay in a big room with high ceilings, a rare treat in Venice. The breakfast was good. An elevator is also in place.

The rooms aren't that much soundproof, so if you're a really light sleeper, stay elsewhere. You not onlly get a Grand canal view (not that there's much to see), but also the sound of boat engines. And of your neighbor's running water, too. And it's also true about the shower curtain missing. I struggled not to spill water all over the place, but is was inevitable. But there's lots of towels to wipe it all up. Although in some smaller rooms they do have shower cabins.

Location was great next to railway, bus and water route stations. Room was comfortable and clean, Overall seemed a little jaded but in keeping with age of hotel,

Staff were not very friendly particularly reception staff though this could have been .language barrier. Room was not ready till nearly 4pm.

Room with excellent outlook onto the Grand Canal and Dining Terrace so that breakfast was taken al fresco overlooking the water.

elevator very old and the carpet smell bad & small, There is no business center... I ask to print a paper form my laptop or the internet and they said we don't cooperate with me !!!

The view was amazing, the room was small but extremely clean and contained all the necessaries. It is in a great location.

The soundproofing is not great, you can hear conversations in adjoining rooms but not really an issue as in Venice you don't spend much time in your room.

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights an we were satisfied with our overall experience. The hotel was about a 5 minute walk from the train station which was excellent for us since we arrived on a train and the city center was about a 15 minute walk from the hotel. Staff was helpful in directing use on how to get to places i.e. shopping areas and other areas of our interest. They even had airport train tickets that they sold at the hotel for the same price as at the train station which was very convienent. Rooms were clean and simple with standard furniture. The breakfast was excellent. English was well spoken.

We did not like the size of the bathroom which was very small and it was hard to move around without hitting something. Rooms were also a little small but acceptable for the price we paid. We had to walk up some stairs to get to the elevator which was a challenge since our baggage was heavy and bulky.

Nothing at all , I regret to book this hotel to begin with

The staff wer rude , reception was not professionally trained and they had difficulty answering questions despite their english speaking ability

Hotel Continental was very close to the Venice Train Station (less than 5 minute walk) which was very convenient. Plus all of their staff we interacted with spoke English which was very convenient. Their air conditioned lobby was a life saver after walking around in the heat. The free continental breakfast was not too tasty (only hot items were scrambled eggs and bacon) but it was filling since it was buffet style.

The tub didn't have a shower curtain so my kids made a mess when they took a shower. Also, the restaurants near the hotel are very expensive and overpriced. We ended up spending 85 eur on a unsatisfying meal (two omelets, a slice of pizza, an order of calamari, a side order of fries and two cokes) at a restaurant near the bridge near the train station that had a view overlooking the Grand Canal. Definitely walk outside of the main tourist area if you're looking for a meal at a good value.
