“ Simply beautiful! Lovely breeze at night on a very hot summer's day and friendly, welcoming, staff. ”

London
This 18th-century estate and organic farm lies 14 km inland from Sorrento. It offers a peaceful location with views of Positano, and a large garden with playground. Wi-Fi is free. Organic honey, olive oil and fruit preserves are produced at Agriturismo La Ginestra. The farm grows a range of vegetables including aubergines, courgettes and peppers. Overlooking the garden or the Mediterranean Sea, all rooms come with balcony, satellite TV and private bathroom. A free internet terminal is available at reception. Fresh bread, cappuccino coffee, and the farm's own jam and honey are served daily for breakfast. The restaurant serves dishes from Campania, prepared from local ingredients. La Ginestra is set in Monti Lattari Natural Park, a great starting point for hikes along the Sentiero degli Dei footpath, towards Positano, which you can reach in 1 hour on foot. The property provides free parking and is 35 minutes' drive from the ancient ruins of Pompeii. The suggested address for GPS navigators is Via Conocchia, Vico Equense. Despite our not speaking Italian so very well, the hosts were generous and quite friendly! We were the only guests, and had a lovely dinner. (especially delicious vegetables!) Breakfast was also pretty good for Italy - typical pasties but also some cheese and ham for the bread was an added bonus (compared to other places we stayed in the area). Room is simple but clean. Relaxing environment. Amazing views! Warning: the driving up there part is not for the weak. Extremely chaotic traffic and tiny streets. It is quite an adventure. Once you drive up there, you don't really want to drive back down. :)

The view was absolutely wonderful! The room was incredibly spacious and very comfortable. Although there was only my mother and I we were given a family room and in was really huge! For us it was too remote. I was unfortunate enough to have my purse stolen in Palermo and the Emergency Card replacement people would not deliver up there so we had to move! We may have moved anyway due to the location, but we were left with no choice.

The view is fantastic. The staff all very friendly and helpful. We received a very warm welcome after a stressful drive. Room large and lovely terrace to sit and watch the sun set. Food very good. We loved watching the chef at work. We would stay there again happily. Very difficult to find. The road up the mountain not for the nervous driver great if you get to follow the bus. Our GPS took us quite the wrong way and in the end we used the co- ordinates on our GPS and found it.

The hotel is one of the best experiences I had in Italy. But you should be adventurous to appreciate it fully. If you are looking for some quick an easy way to spend a night this is probably not the best choice. But if you feel romantic, you are up for a challenge, and you have a car to get there - go and book it without hesitation. You`ll get the pleasure of driving the extremely narrow winding maintain road. That`s the adventure itself (for us even doubled as our gps didn`t know the hotel or the street, so we had to get out of the car asking the way - Italians as usual were extremely helpful and the fact the didn’t speak English didn`t matter at all) And when you finally get there - oh, boy - the view is breath taking, simply unbelievable. The rooms are simple but very tastefully decorated, the restaurant serves great food and wine. And the place itself is so nice, natural, authentic... If you have children they will enjoy playing with farm animals.

A fabulous location with a beautiful view across hills, fields, woodland and the Bay of Naples to the island of Ischia. Quiet. Good, simple evening meal The room was quite basic and because of the way the TV was mounted it was impossible to open the window properly. I wanted to make an early start, but no one arrived to prepare breakfast until gone 8.30. [The breakfast lady hurriedly made me a sandwhich I could take with me though, which I appreciated]

Excelent for a calm place, simple but clean and nice, Friendly people, good price for what we got. The main problem is how to find the place. It is not too far from Sorrento or Positano, but there are no directions at all on how to get there. Streets have no signs and we were lucky that we had a GPS that got us there, even with many mistakes, We suggest that when you make reservation to stay there you get directions on how to get there, this would help a lot.
