Staff very friendly.
Hotel was exactly as described. Clean , comfortable , good value for money and a pretty decent breakfast . All in all was a very comfortable stay and would stay here again.
Location was good but a 10-15 min walk to the main areas. Hotel is also a bit difficult to find .
The exposed beams and the period decorations were nice. The included breakfast was nice with freshly sliced meats -- could have included some fruit ... 24 hour desk is an advantage. Nice having a fridge in the room.
A long list of not likes : When we first arrived we were shown a room that smelled strongly of mildew. The AC had leaked all over the floor to the point they had laid a plank across the the worst area so as not to get your feet wet -- UNBELIEVABLE!!! I refused to take the room. In the room we spent 2 of our 8 days in -- Poor to non existent AC. Mosquitos were quite bad in the room as were BEDBUGS!!! We moved to another room that was on a lower floor and was cooler, but something was still biting us both ... Not Mosquitos. The second room was more finished in terms of the walls and floors and cleanliness, but our first room was broken down in every way!!! Needed painting. Shelf in bathroom was broken and had no place to put toiletries. There was no niche in the shower for anything either. There were exposed wires INSIDE the shower (covered by plastic). The shower head spewed water in every direction except on my head. Only three of the four nozzles for the wall spray worked. It was 78 stairs up to our room at the end of a long day. The room did not smell good -- mildew... . In addition to not working, the AC was extremely loud in the 1st room. Scant cleaning during maid service. The fridge did not have a control that we could find and kept things barely cooler than the room ... Overall, if they fixed the place up it could be a really good hotel (good bones), but as it stands it is definitely not a 3 star hotel.
Friendly and clean
Price - value for money Limited breakfast Dark room
near by S marco
room is very small wifi servis was really slow and low signal bed is for baby..
likes the location, staff were very friendly, unique character about the place, really good breakfast
no lift, air conditioning not brilliant, wifi didnt work on 4th floor
The hotel is close to the water bus and piazza San Marco. The breakfast was ok...
The room was full of flies and extremely humid. When we told the receptionist about the flies, he sprayed them and we found the room stinky and full of dead flies (min. 50!!) everywhere until our departure the next day. The window didn't close. There was no wifi in the room, only at the reception. The shower curtain was not waterproof and there was nothing to step into the shower, just the floor, so the water was all over the bathroom after we took a shower.
Breakfast room and breakfast wasn't bad.
When we first arrived we were told we were late and were given the worst room up three or four flights of stairs with no one around. The room was really strange. Tiny and resembled a hall. Musty, hot and not all like the image we were shown. We complained and asked for a new room and were told we arrived after five do they had to give our room to someone else. We asked for a refund so we could seek alternate accommodation and were told no. I was told to go away by the manager on the phone. The next day they put us in another room which was better but the when experience was quite traumatic for tired tourists with young children.
The staff is super friendly; location is great!
The location, as I was born near there I felt I came home to visit my roots!! The next morning when I expressed the fact that I did not like my room, I was quickly given a much better room 108. Well done!!
Room 204. Too gloomy, dark and uncomfortable and with those two huge wardrobes in the middle of the room it felt oppressive. It could be a nice room!!
Its location is really good and the reception very helpful and friendly.
The dining hall was a little small for the amount of guests, the upholstry in the rooms could do with a bit of a dryclean.
Excellent staff who went out of their way to help us. Good breakfast. Nice area. However, it is in an alley, as is everything in Venice! Spacious rooms and bathroom. They allowed us to store our luggage for free and collect them in the evening on the day of checkout.
Wifi connection in the rooms wasn't great The nearest main bridge crossing did not have ramp access Quite a walk from S Marco
The hotel is in Venice, but really far from St. Marko church!!
The door of our room, was opening directly in the restaurant (no hall)!!! The window looked in the space inside the building!!! No sky!!! Lucky we were for 1 night only!
The hotel is perfectly located in Castello. It is close to many good restaurants and stores, but off the tourist trail and a better experience of local Venetion life than in the main tourist areas. Just 10 - 15min walk along the lagoon to San Marco. I loved staying here!
Smile of receptionist
Dark rooms, small halls, no fresh air, cleanness only visual
It is very close to all the places of interest in Venice. The place us very beautiful and the staff very friendly.
It doesnt have an elevator.
Relatively not so expensive
Spent more than half an hour trying to find the hotel. Difficult to get to. Room not really clean Breakfast not so good
The location was quite fine, next to the Venice Biennale. The staff was friendly.
It is very expensive considering the quality, which was from medium to poor. Scratched and dirty walls, worn out bathroom, broken shower cabinet. They tried to give me a room side by side with the restaurant, althought the hotel was almost empty.
Very nice hotel. The incheck was very fast and the night receptionist was very helpfull. the room was very clean and the breakfast was also fine. We liked the hotel very much.
AC was turned off or not working properly and the weather was still very warm during the day
The staff were helpful The location was a short walk from nice restaurants and the main activities
My room was quite dark which made it a little gloomy The breakfast buffet was a bit lacking they could have added some fruit
Really near La Bienalle
Great location. Close to all main attractions but a bit off the beaten path. Great breakfast. Clean, comfortable room for a family of 5 for one night.
Breakfast was ample. The room was comfortable, although small.
When booking I thought the room had a double, 2 singles and a sofa bed. However, we were given a double, sofa and 1 small fold out bed. Disappointed, it was a tight fit. The breakfast room was small and we had to wait 30 minutes for a table.
