Great hotel when we worked out how to get in. Comfortable and suited our needs. Location was excellent which compensated for the difficulty driving in. Breakfast was really nice too.
Hotel was inside the no drive area, so was a little difficult to get to and only found it after giving up and parking the car and asking the parking attendant.
Excellent location; not far from train station; cosy and comfortable, homely feel
Difficult to find for a 1st time visitor; signage can be more prominent
Sound proof room, good bed, bathroom and breakfast.
Nothing, good value.
Position of Hotel is excellent for all the tourist hotspots. The hotel has friendly staff with good English.
We had a front room with and excellent view, however there is a local and close street market that begins to set up around 5am in the morning, therefore if you are a light sleeper it will wake you.
Location-walking distance to everything Staff can speak English language very well- definite bonus Kept our baggage even after we checked out so we could still sight see while waiting for our train.
Super central location. Room size good for in-town.
Cramped breakfast room. No direct access with the car.
Great central location. Helpful and friendly staff. Quiet rooms. Clean, good wifi, and fabulous BREAKFAST(the best we've had in Italy).
We were three, needing three twin beds. The third bed was smaller and thinner than the other two, which wasn't as comfortable for an adult. But it was ok.
The room and bathroom were large, not cramped. Staff was very helpful with information on the city and getting around. Breakfast was adequate. Location was convenient and surprisingly quiet, even with the leather market just down the street.
Everything except internet connection.
WiFi internet connection need to be improved significantly.
The staff was so accommodating and friendly. There were about 4-5 employees working during our 3 day stay, so they recognized us and always helped out. They booked the Uffizi and Academia for us for free, called taxis, gave us directions, even loaned us an umbrella. I've never felt so at home in a hotel. Within walking distance of all major sights. Close to the market.
We arrived at Santa Maria Novella and found the hotel very quickly directly opposite the Basilica di San Lorenzo. From here you are local for everything that this remarkable city has to offer. Any number of restaurants are within a 2 minute walk of the front door. You should try the first floor of the market "Il Mercato Centrale". There is everything to eat and drink where you find a seat and mix and match just what you want. The room was not the biggest that we stayed in but it was just as clean as any of them. It was spotless. I don't think that I have ever stayed in a hotel room that has been so well sound proofed. I never even heard a door close throughout our 3 night stay. Italian hotels are often criticised for small showers, but not here. It was very big, and newly refurbed to a high standard. I am a big fan of the fridge in the room rather than the mini bar. Well done Corte Dei Medici. The breakfast was very good with outstanding pastries. There was also a good selection of cereals, fruits, meats and cheeses. The breakfast room was on the top floor and if you got there at the right time to get a window seat you could watch over the comings and goings in the Piazza below. This is an excellent base from which to explore Florence and I would return in a heartbeat.
The hotel was undergoing some refurb works. It did not inconvenience us at all and will lead to an improved hotel when completed. Probably due to my shortcoming I was unable to locate the BBC news channel and had to suffer that awful CNN. Finally it is no fault of the hotel but I really dislike the 3 euro per person per night city tax. The lifeblood of the city is paid for by tourists visiting and using the various services. Shame on you authority of Florence.
Location Very helpful personnel Large room Spa bath
Excellent location. Breakfast was included & very nice. Room was very nice, clean & comfortable. Wifi was very good & fast
If you really want 100% satisfaction, you must choose this hotel. The satff is the best!, they even book you reservations for museums that are impossible to get on the Web! Congratulations.
Friendly staff Convience location Speedy wifi Large room with nice San Lorenzo view
Location near cafes & restaurants. However recommend search back into streets as they will be cheaper & still good quality food. Modern, great bathroom, very comfortable, adequate room for luggage.
Noise level outside window. However take the good with the annoying in such a good position.
The location was really good, everything there if you step out from the hotel. The breakfast was really good for a 3 star hotel, coffee was really good, fresh fruits, tomato. The room was also really good, the bed was big and comfortable.
the elevator was narrow, but it is not important for me
very friendly staff great location super breakfast
Location and room space. Good breakfast.
Front entry and access to reception (3rd floor) is a challenge. But everything else is awesome!
location breakfast staff very quiet for a busy location
Beds were too hard Room for five was a bit crammed Lift too small Hotel not sign posted well enough so difficult to find
This hotel is within walking distance of all the major sights and galleries. The decor in our room was attractive and furnishings comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choices The Hotel is an easy 5 minute walk from the Santa Maria Novella Train Station,
Our room was at the back of the hotel on the second floor and lacked a view and had a flight of stairs in it so not ideal for some people.
Loved the space in room and bathroom, the decor, the location was wonderful. Duomo was next block, markets outside the hotel door. Privacy great. No noise at night. Station less than 5 min slow walk... Everything we needed was within a meander. One of the staff ladies booked our Fiat tour and was extremely helpful as we do not speak Italian.
The staff was very nice, the breakfast was excellent, the location was fantastic! The bathroom was updated and very nice. The bed was one of the most comfortable I slept in on the trip. Location was very good!
The office/reception area is dated (70s carpet, etc.). The hotel décor was dated as well. However, if was very clean, but not luxurious.
Great central location. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. We had family suite with 3 bedrooms and 1 and half baths on same floor as breakfast room and reception (3rd floor)
Undergoing renovation. Garage close by but very expensive (36E/day for van). They advertised 2 baths for the apartment but only one had shower for 6 of us.
great location great room - clean and well kept good toiletries great staff - very helpful and kind awesome breakfasts!!!
very small elevator reception on 3rd floor - needed to take luggage up only to have to take it down to room
