We loved every minute of our stay in the Corte San Pietro. The beautiful design of the hotel, with its rooms set around a very attractive central courtyard, made a tremendous impression upon us. The courtesy and attention to detail of the owners and staff can't be rated highly enough. The hotel is perfectly positioned for exploring this stunning town and for discovering its fascinating history. What a treat!
Fernando was a great host of a marvellous property, assisted by Anna who was a wealth of knowledge and information and couldn't do enough to help you. I would recommend to anyone
Whoever designed this place - thank you!
Beautiful hotel with excellent attention of detail given to every aspect of our stay! We wish we could have stayed longer!
There is nothing to not like at this hotel!
Exceptional is the right word to describe this hotel. You will be welcomed like home but still you will wonder "where I am? heaven or earth?" :) Matera is really amazing place and worth to be visited and if you choose Corte San Pietro then your trip will be complete. Staff is very professional and breakfast amazing. About the room..you will get the feeling that you don't want to go out that night, just be there enjoy and relax
Everything! The rooms are beautiful, candlelit, comfortable beds, great shower, even a mini fridge. The breakfast was amazing! The staff are helpful and friendly. The very gracious owners live on site. We had a great stay. Wine is the evenings is a nice touch and a great way to meet the other guests.
Beautiful ambiance, the mix of ancient and modern was refreshing. The owner & staff were wonderful. Many good restaurants in the vicinity & sites were all within walking distance.
Driving & parking was a little tricky, but the staff was very helpful in getting a valet to bring our car to a garage.
good service and breakfast
weak wifi in room, insufficient indoor lighting
Everything, Fernando and Marisa are very professional.
The Nice rooms... The built in shower... The best breakfast ever ! That you can leave your luggage there all day
An extra fee for late check out
Sweet little hotel in an excellent location for sight seeing and restaurants. Very comfortable room with all amenities and super nice touches. The owner spent time with us offering recommendations and several glasses of excellent prosecco! Best custard and jam filled croissant EVER with a wonderful breakfast.
The lighting could have been better in the room, it was a little too dark.
Position of hotel staff fantastic always ready to help breakfast fantastic rooms authentic great experience
Beautiful accommodations: elegant and contemporary with a touch of old world. The rooms were candle lit in addition to contemporary Italian lights. Breakfast was delicious with cheeses, meats, fruits and wonderful pastries. The staff was friendly and very helpful with making dinner reservations, organizing tours or anything else we needed. Staying in a cave could not be more luxurious. We highly recommend Corte San Pietro.
It is like nowhere else on Earth. The owners are charming and attentive.
Everything: Staff - friendly, extremely helpful. Offered us a drink on arrival & also a coffee while they explained the way back to the airport next morning Rooms - very well designed with lovely touches Food - breakfast only but plenty of choice and good quality food The staff also let you choose your room out of those still available and give you a tour of the amazing cellars which spread out under the hotel are being renovated into a spa Nothing too much trouble for the staff. This little gem delivers on all levels
Parking nearby can be a problem. We ended up having to park in a multi storey car park about 5 mins drive away which cost 18 Euro a night. This is a problem for all accommodation in the Sassi so not a problem unique to this hotel
Fernando Makes the whole difference. A Place with an owner attentive to all details! If you dont stay in the Sassi, you have not been in Matera and this is the place to stay!!!
This place is brilliant and the owners treat you as guests in their home. The other staff members are extremely kind and helpful. The breakfast was especially amazing. The design is beautiful.
Position is excellent as well as the classy touch of every single particular inside this hidden paradise. Service is efficent and discrete and the owners are what people call "gentili and raffinati" in Italian lenguage. (Kind and classy ....to translate it...).
Nothing at all!
Wonderful place with max. facilities allowed, but the most important atmosphere which the owner & his wonderful wife give to your staying in their very nice small hotel make you feel like at home ,they even do all what you want before you even think abt that 24hrs a day. really was great time I spent with my family & recommend all who want to visit Matera to try stay there.
Very very BEAUTIFUL place. Welcoming and charming people. Very well located. A must see
A bit warm in the summer in the rooms.
Corte San Pietro is in every way absolutely wonderful! We highly recommend tostay there! The people (owners & staff) are all very nice, caring and helpful. The hotel is very authentic, because it has a historical background. The rooms are very charming and comfortable. The breakfast was lovely!
We loved everything about this hotel -hospitality,friendliness, attention to detail and of course the hotel itself. The rooms were spectacular, carved out of rock and so well equipped with everything one might need. In effect the rooms were caves, sounds primitive but decorated with such design elan that unfortunately it will be much more difficult to reserve one of these grottoes in the future.
We loved our stay here, Matera is amazing and the hotel is the perfect place to stay. The hotel has lots of history and it has been renovated very well. The room are comfortable and well designed. The owner and his staff are also great and really welcoming, helpful and friendly. Yummy breakfast too and and welcoming drink when you come home at night.
Everything was amazing from location to design & staff...
Great experience from arrival to departure. Drinks and coffee were offered continually without extra charge. Staff and owners charming and attentive. Rooms within the caves were superb. Breakfast terrific, coffee awesome. We had a particularly great time here and would go back without hesitation
