The staff cannot speak proper English and not friendly.

Then I arrived, I find nobody at reception. Only key for two another name.

The decor

It was closed when we arrived at 5:00. They did come let us in but the intercom system was hard to hear through and the signs were hard to interpret so we did not know what to do.

We travel a lot as a couple and the one member of staff we encountered here was by far one of the rudest people we have ever met in the hospitality trade. She was abrupt, unhelpful and made no account at all for the fact we spoke no italian. We dont expect everyone to speak english but she never introduced herself, told us nothing about the surrounding area and the following day was extremley rude to us when we asked her to book a taxi! The rooms were far too small and that coupled with very poor service from staff, in our opinion, make this place way too overpriced.

Although the reception wasn't staffed when we arrived. We found our key waiting for us. Our room was very spacious and clean. We loved the decorations and the free stnding bath. The bed was large and comfy. It was a proper double instead of two singles pushed togther as in previous places we stayed. There was a mini bar and tv in the room. We also had a little sitting area. They left lots of towels, extra pillows and covers in case you need it. There was no tea making facilities but we didn't mind. Breakfast was basic like in most places in Italy but had enough choices for us. Walk to the old town was about 10 minutes but we had a car so preferred to stay a little further out so we could park it by the hotel.

There was no fresh bread for breakfast only packed, long life rolls and cakes.

A good hotel and good value for money. Had a bath in the room and a comfortable bed. Decoration was interesting but it adds to the charm and I booked the hotel knowing this.

Nothing to complain about, a short walk from the centre and no elevator but didn't worry me

Rooms were different decor from the norm and clean. Romantic feel albeit we were in a triple room with our teenage son, but I could imagine a couple enjoying the ambience of the room!! Good size too and the restoration work is good. Breakfast was very good and plenty of it. Location of the hotel to central Lucca was reasonable for us but it was a good 20 minute walk to eating places in the evening which was a little tiring after a day out site seeing but manageable for us.

Very disappointed with what we expected through the description and what we got! One - it is not a hotel but a B&B and this is very clearly written all over the wall when you arrive. Two - the pictures on the website give the impression of a fairly grand old building which has been restored, not at all, it is a whitewash terrace building with 6 rooms!! Having said this it was still an okay stay but marketing on the site is very misleading from what it states and what you get when you arrive. Three - you need to pay cash, no debit or credit cards, and this was not pre-mentioned, this could be a problem for people with cash flow problems or no access to cash once abroad other than what you have with you, very disappointing in this day and age. Four - we asked for an earlier breakfast of around 7.30am on our last day but this was refused as the lady did not start until 8.30am, very poor service. Five - very small and dark building. If you know all of the above then the B&B is okay for a stay just disappointing when it was not what we were expecting. Also on arrival we could not get in and needed a neighbour to the B&B to call the owner while we waited for them to arrive to give us access!

B&B davvero eccezionale. Situato appena fuori dalle mura di Lucca, che raggiungi in meno di 10 minuti a piedi, la struttura è molto accogliente, lo staff impeccabile e la camera Lady Ginevra a dir poco fantastica! Colazione variegata e rapporto qualità/prezzo consigliatissimo.

tutto ok. la proprietaria e' molto gentile, le camere sono pulite, la colazione nella norma.

l'originalité de la décoration qui joue du caractère ancien des lieux, la chambre vaste et confortable, le tarif très intéressant en cette période de l'année, le quartier calme et proche de la ville (Lucques est une ville piétonne à l'intérieur des remparts)

la raideur des escaliers et une isolation phonique intérieure qui n'est pas optimale.

Bon emplacement , parking gratuit. Chambre spacieuse avec une décoration originale aux couleurs chatoyantes. Petit dej simple mais de bonne qualite.

Molto carino e romantico. Staff gentile, colazione abbondante e varia. Con 10 minuti di camminata si é al centro di Lucca perciò é molto comodo. L'ambientazione medievale é carina. Le stanze sono confortevoli e pulite. Sicuramente consigliato.

Bisognerebbe migliorare l'insonorizzazione delle stanze.

Proximité du centre ville, une place de parking devant et une chambre au rdc pratique avec une poussette. Personnel serviable et aimable.

Chambre en face de la machine à café du petit déjeuner. Le prix de la chambre qui augmente si on veut faire une réservation en direct.

Tutto molto bello e caratteristico. Ottima posizione, appena fuori dalle mura, con possibilità di parcheggio gratuito, ottima colazione e camere carinissime!

l’accoglienza da parte del personale; l’ambiente caratteristico; una colazione molto buona e varia, ottimi i cappuccini; la pulizia delle camere e la posizione,vicinissima al centro storico

Studiato nei minimi particolari per sembrare il più possibile una residenza medioevale. Soffitti in travi e mattoni a vista Molto varia la colazione, molto gentile la ragazza alla reception.Letto comodo. Zona molto sileziosa, l'unico romore è dato dal resto degli occupanti a causa della struttura antica non insonorizzata ma se siete fortunati a trovare altri occupanti come quelli che abbiamo trovato noi tutto sarà perfetto.

Appena arrivati erano appena stati lavati I pavimenti molto probabilmente con uno straccio rimasto umido per troppo tempo che ha rilasciato un spiacevole odore di "spugnetta marcia".Ma per fortuna dopo qlc ora se nè andato.
